High hopes based on Unilocal reviews and word around town. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. We were a party of 6 on a Sat night so we expected to wait. We were quoted 55 minutes and after 80 minutes we still were not seated. The hosts were very nice but completely overwhelmed. We saw a table on the patio remain unseated for 30 minutes and after two inquiries about it I pressed the manager to get it. We ordered the chicken and waffles which came with the same chicken tenders the children got and they were tough as leather. It was topped with a liquid cheese product and uncooked pink and white bacon. The butternut squash soup was solid, not soup like at all, I could tip the bowl half way and it would not run. We got the pear and gorgonzola salad which was good as was the meatloaf. There was a drunk couple causing a scene, vulgarity and pushing one another who continued to come in and out of the restaurant, fight at the hostess stand and still return to their table for more cocktails. They were there from the time we got there to when we left. Staff and management observed this and did nothing about it. Our server was great which is the only reason I am giving the two stars. This place is overrated in my opinion.

Excellent, attentive servers without any hovering. The food? AMAZING. Nothing from a box or a can– it’s all fresh and tastes incredible. The Cajun shrimp and grits had shrimp so big I had to cut them in half. How did we not know about this place sooner?

This place is great. Very good food that doesn’t taste like every other boring place. Not for the dining patron that enjoys fake Italian food at Olive Garden. Good beer selection with the reformation. Couches are a cool place for casual dining.

Great food and drinks. Great service. Everything you want for a nice meal out. Several in our group had the prime rib special and I had the Dinosaur Rib. Loved the jalapeño appetizers and the beer from Restoration.

The first of many stops in this place, it does take a lot for me to give a place 5 stars… Had the waiter been more attentive this place would have gotten it for sure. I had the filet and egg cooked medium, this dish could not have been prepared better if they tried. It was absolutely perfect!!! 2 of the best 4 oz filets with an egg on top… All of this absolute goodness sitting stop PERFECTLY prepared cheese grits!!! For me to like grits they have to be right… The wife had the spicy shrimp and grits, she always takes some home… Not this time. She completely devoured the whole thing!!! If you love good food, this is the place for you. Just make sure you are not in a hurry, the staff in our case was not that attentive… Oh and we were here at 2pm, so the slowness was not due to a crowd… There were less than 15 folks in the whole place… Fix the wait issue and 5 stars all the way!!!

Went last night while visiting a friend in Canton. Food was excellent, as is always the case with Chef Seth. Service and beer were also excellent. I will be back when in Canton again.

Went just the past week and took 9 others that I paid for. Glad I did, this was a terrific experience from start to finish and all the food was INCREDIBLE!!! Everything from the dinosaur beef rib, poutine fries, several orders of salmon, kobe steak and 7 others were so perfect. Can’t brag enough about the 5 cheese crab risotto I had with asparagus, had seconds it was so creamy and perfect!!! Glad to bring people back with this kind of place nearby!!!

So pleasantly surprised! I never liked this place when it was Sixes Tavern. I thought the food was OK and the prices were high. The Butcher and Bottle has turned this restaurant into a must try. The inside of the restaurant hasn’t changed but the food is so much better! I had the Cajun Shrimp and Grits. It came out in a large bowl with fried jalapeños on top. This dish was so good! I could not stop eating it. Was hoping to take some home but I had to eat it all. The grits were delicious. I would definitely recommend this dish. My husband had the filet and egg. He was like a magician making that food disappear so fast. He loved it! This will become one of my favorites for this area. I will definitely be back!

On my recent visit with the family, we decided to go here for dinner on a Friday evening. We did not have reservations, but being rather early in the evening, we had no problem being seated. Our server greeted us with menus and asked for our drink orders. After our drinks arrived, she went over the menu and any specials for the night. There were three of us in our party, and all of us enjoyed our meal. My niece had the blackened Caesar Salad with chicken($ 14.00), my brother had the catch of the day(grouper) served over cheese grits, and I had the fish and chips($ 16.00). The fish and chips were served with a kimshi ketchup and malt vinegar. The deep fried strips of fish was crisp on the outside, and flaky on the inside. And both the fish and chips were served hot. Being from out of town, I just had to order the Reformation Lager Atlas Redeemed IPA, which is brewed in Woodstock. My only complaint is that I will have to wait for my next trip up from Orlando to sample some more ales/lagers from this fine brewery. What really impressed us with our meal, however, was the Pig Wings appetizer. These are baby back ribs that are braised, sliced, and deep fried, then served with a sauce for dipping. These pig wings are out of this world! The pork was so tender, if fell right off of the bone. Me and my brother agreed that we could make a meal out of these! Dark wooden tables and chairs make up the interior of the dining area, and the entire front of this gastro pub is lined with windows, allowing the natural light to provide a soft glow in the dining area. But in the late afternoon, there is plenty of light coming in when Big Red sets in the western sky! This does, however, make for a great way to watch the world go by on Sixes Road. And there is outdoor seating available on the front patio. The Butcher and the Bottle took over this location from a previous restaurant/lounge that was here. And let’s hope it does well since this makes for a great dining choice in the Canton area. The dining area is clean and comfortable, and the service staff is very friendly and helpful. I did not get the name of the waitress that served us, but like I said, she was very helpful in going over the menu and making recommendations as to what meals were a favorite among patrons. I would most likely come back here to try some of the other fare that the Butcher and the Bottle has to offer. Besides, I want to get another order of those pig wings when I come back up!

Awesome place. just not deserving of the football headquarters title they’ve given themselves. No ability to have game sound. staff is a little aloof to the fact that folks often come here for the specific person of watching a specific game. Would enjoy seeing them more committed to this. Come for the great food and atmosphere. Go somewhere else for a game. Especially if the short co-owner is in attendance. He’ll obnoxiously make his game louder than yours because well. he can. Try another establishment that’s interested in putting their customers first.

K and I decided to continue exploring local restaurants here in Canton by going to Butcher and Bottle yesterday. With it being Halloween AND the Georgia-Florida game on, we figured it would be easy to get a table, but we made a reservation anyway. We arrived, they confirmed our reservation, and we were quickly seated. The restaurant has no particular design aesthetic I could identify, but it was open, clean and modern. There is no smoking inside(thank goodness), but there is smoking out on a patio area. Our server, Nicole from Australia, was very friendly and knew the menu well. She let us know that one of the apps we wanted to try was half off, but that in ‘three minutes’ it would go to full price, so she sped away to enter it into the system. We appreciated her looking out for our interests. We ordered two apps and loved them both. The fried jalapeño slices were delightful. They were sliced as thin as dimes, very lightly breaded and flash-fried. That meant that they had a nice crunch but were not at all greasy. The bowl of them is substantial, so be sure you have someone with you to share them or expect to take more than half of them with you when you leave. They offer a ranch dip with them, mostly likely to help marginal pepper eaters survive the heat of the jalapenos. I’m not a fan of ranch dressing anyway, so pushing it away was easy. If you get these, don’t use it. The flavor of the peppers is too good to bury. We also ordered the Basil Sriracha Shrimp and it was(to quote Will Ferrell as James Lipton) ‘scrumtrulescent’. K liked wrapping the shrimp in the basil leaves and I mopped up all the sauce. You will need a lot of water, but the flavor is worth the sniffles and eye-watering! I decided to keep the burn sustained, so I ordered the Sid’s Cajun Shrimp and Grits. Sidebar: Having lived in New Orleans for 7 years, as a rule I don’t order anything called ‘Cajun’ if I am north of Lake Ponchartrain. All too often, items referred to as ‘Cajun’ are actually just blackened or have some Tony Chachere’s spice sprinkled on it. Not here! My entrée was definitely real-deal Cajun. The shrimp(wild-caught), Andouille(locally sourced), and red sauce all fit together beautifully and the spice palette was spot-on. The cheesy grits felt like a nice doff of cap to South Carolina Low Country cuisine influence and were delightfully fluffy and well-executed. The fried jalapeño slices(the same as sprinkled on it were a nice twist. K selected the Pork and Brussels Sprout Risotto, and it too was a home run. Braised pulled pork served with creamy goat cheese risotto topped with mushrooms and sliced Brussels sprout slices. The goat cheese was assertive without overwhelming the pork and the risotto was perfectly cooked. Per K, the Brussels sprouts didn’t seem fried, but simply sliced. However, she said they were good regardless. In sum: Service-Great! Food –Awesome Facility-AOK Will we be going back? Yes X 2. And soon.

Excellent place for lunch, if a bit out of the way. We both ordered the«Chef Seth Burger» medium rare. Mine was perfectly cooked; my wife’s was a tad on the rare side but edible. The bacon was excellent. I was hoping it was locally sourced but was told it’s from Ohio. One quibble — the«BBQ sauce» was actually a sriracha mayonnaise and was too hot and ill suited for the r\est of the burger. The french fries were incredibly good — hot, fresh, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Even the iced tea was excellent — fresh and a strong tea taste. The service matched the food. Next time, we’ll try the Sunday brunch.

I don’t know what a gastro pub is but I like this place hahaha. The chicken and waffles sandwich is no sandwich lol. It’s a monster that must be attacked with a knife and fork. Juicy chicken, perfectly cooked waffles, and that sweet sauce sweeping over every bit of the palate is absolutely fantastic. But, I did notice a few bites here and there that the chicken’s a bit bland. That happens when the seasoning is all in the breading and not in the actual chicken marinade. All in all I like the atmosphere, the waiter I had was awesome, I just gave it four stars because I only give five stars to restaurants that make me screaming to go back and eat. Like seriously child in the grocery store rolling on the ground screaming. I’d definitely go back to Butchers, but I just… not screaming, not rolling… yet.

Oh LAWD! Came back to check this joint out again and let me tell you, It was well worth it! Again Poutine **AWESOME**!! I ordered the coq au vin and it was soooo freakin good! So tender and juicy. The mashed potatoes that came with it were superb! Mashed with skins on. The gravy was, well I could bathe in it! HUGEPORTIONSTOO! My hubs had the Dinosaur Rib and it actually looked liked something from the Flinstones — SOGOOD! HUGE props to this Canton restaurant for really brining it! Great food + Great service + Great atmosphere = 5 solid stars! Check them out FOSHO!

Total disappointment. Wings were warm, definitely weren’t freshly cooked, and dry. Fries tasted freezer burnt. The $ 26 Ribeye Heart was over cooked — was supposed to be medium, was medium-well, almost well-done. Only reason I didn’t sent it back is because it was a good piece of meat. Good points — Sarachi shrimp was good. Could have had a sweetness to it to balance the heat, but we enjoyed it. Mashed potatoes were great! Definitely the best part of the meal. Cocktails were strong!!! Will give it another whirl, hopefully better next time.

Disappointed that they no longer have fried mashed potatoes which were amazing! I wanted them again but not on menu anymore. Good over all! Today we split a burger and fries, with jalapeño slices as appetizer. Very good and topped it off with cream puffs that my wife swears by!

The service is impeccable. I wasn’t as impressed with the food but I’m going to give them one more try bc we really enjoyed our time here. Again, the service was EXCELLENT. We tried the pub steak. It was good but not excellent. The fritters that came with it was excellent. We also tried the fish and chips. There was a lot of fish but the breading was also a lot. The $ 3 jalapeño bites were great for the money. The jalapeños were fresh but thin so not too hot. The craft beer selection was very good. Speciality drinks were 9 – 12. They have cream puffs for $ 1 each — served with whip cream and fruit. Go ahead and order extra because they are sooooo worth it.

Great service and the food is amazing. Drinks are plentiful and not watered down! Had pleasure to meet both partners and have a nice conversation. Highly recommend for couples and or families. Use the Unilocal App for reservations… I’m 2⁄2 there.

Truly amazing restaurant. It is classy, but not pretentious. I ordered poutine for an appetizer. My husband and stepson loved it so much that I hardly got more than two bites. For my entrée, I had the pub steak, which is like a sirloin cut. It was delicious. I could drink a gallon of their demi glacé. The potato fritters are like loaded mashed potato cakes heated on a waffle iron. The sautéed spinach was even delicious! I do wish they had a more extensive wine list. A Syrah or Shiraz would have been nice, but my husband, my stepson, and I all loved our meal so much, I can hardly find anything to complain about. The service was also great! I am gluten free for health reasons and with a few minor tweaks to their menu, Butcher and Bottle provides so many menu options that are safe for me to consume. It is rare for me to find a dining experience that makes me relax without feeling nervous that I’ll pay for it later. This place does that for me. They even offer a gf chocolate cake, but I was too stuffed to try it. I will definitely save some room next time.
