Visited the Joy Rd., Canton location about a week ago. Went in for a $ 79.99 special — oil change, filter, tire pressure checked, tires rotated and fluid levels checked. Was told by the service advisor that my rear brake pads were 20% worn and that I needed to replace them as well as the rotors. Me knowing not much about cars believed him. Something was bugging me so I called a Nissan dealership. I told the service advisor what was going on. He asked me how many miles I had on the car. I said 24,000. He said that there was no way that I needed new rotors. I even put him on the phone with the service advisor from Mechanic One and they could not agree with each other. Finally, I decided to not get the rotors but only the new pads. I was upset. The Mechanic One service advisor told me that EVERY time they replace pads their policy is to recommend new rotors. ??? Anyway, I paid for the job minus new rotors. Got in my car only to discover that my low tire pressure light was still on. I asked the mechanic who worked on my car if he checked the tires. He said yes but he needed to reset the warning light. At this point, I just didn’t trust this place. I went to the Nissan dealer who checked my tires. They were all low by 2 lbs. each. As soon as he filled them up, the low tire pressure light went off. The prices may be low but BEWARE! These places are only as good as the personnel that work there.
