Center Ice is a wonderful facility that caters to both kids AND adults! For the past couple years I’ve been trying to learn how to skate and then how to play hockey, but beginning at the age of 30 provides many different road blocks. Center Ice had a very easy and cheap learn to skate program that was incredibly welcoming. They have just about as much open ice time to practice on as any other rink in the area(KSU or Cleveland). After buying equipment, I started to go to the stick time sessions which are all ages. I can’t even find one other rink in the area that allows adults to practice during a stick and puck session. These Center Ice sessions, at $ 12 a pop, have allowed me to practice every skill set building my confidence level up for a game or league setting. They also are one of the few rinks that offers about three adult drop in hockey sessions a week in addition to A, B and C adult leagues, depending on the time of year. This is my «go to» rink as it has an active schedule, it’s cheap, not overcrowded and adult friendly. I do, however, wish their skate sessions were just a bit longer, but 1 – 1.5 hour blocks of time are pretty common for ice rinks in Ohio. The pro shop is also a bit small and geared mainly towards kids. But If that’s the sacrifice I have to make to gain access to such an active rink then I’m ok with it.

This is a nice place to visit if your in the mood to skate. They offer learn to skate, free skate, and broom ball which is always fun. Its a little cold in the stands and the lobby is a little small but the staff is nice so overall a decent rink compared to some others and its the only one in the area.
