My mom and I came in on a weekday. When we entered, there was no one in the front to greet us and check us out. We had to wait about five minutes until someone finally showed up! Thank God! The food is very bland and disgusting. Honestly, the foods that were somewhat tasty were the waffle fries, chocolate cake, soups. As for the service, the waitress didn’t even pick up our plates when we had four plates stacked on top of each other. By the end, we had 7 plates on our table and no one cleaned up for us until the very end when we left. I wouldn’t recommend coming here.

I am giving this place a one because I can’t give it a zero, which is very unfortunate. I walked in to the terrible smell of day old food and was already disgusted. I then sit down on the ripped booth and save the seat. I go to the salad bar and see the bagged pre cut and washed lettuce sitting in the tub and the glistening artificial ranch that was apparently«home made». I eat this disgusting salad and go on to my main course. I get some bland chicken and horrible Mac and cheese but I bare through it. There were many food items that could not be identified and we’re not touched by me or my family. I am then disgusted by a man licking his fingers and touching the ladle for some food. But anyways I went for dessert, I tried to get ice cream, which didn’t work. I then go for some nasty apple pie and just give up at that point. I will never be coming back to this gross restaurant ever again.

I used to love food here but over the years it is starting to taste like the food has been sitting around for days and then reheated over and over. Interior was disgustingly dirty from the front door, 2 the Bathroom, to the carpet on the floor. I noticed there were small bowls of Liquid around the desert showcase, when I ask what is the liquid inside the bowls they told me vinegar, it is to keep flies out of the food! Really? Then I saw the ice cream Cone holder that was placed low to the ground, and noticed the ice cream cones were actually sitting in a garbage can! Thank Goodness I took pictures for you or u probably wouldn’t even believe me!

What a throwback! I used to come here every week with my family. Back then, we didn’t have to pay for drinks as it was included in the cost. Now, you have to pay for drinks but they’ve added an icee machine! Talk about a kid’s paradise! Visited with my parents on a Friday night to see if the food was any different from 5 years or so ago. The layout of the restaurant is still the same. A salad bar, a taco bar(my personal favorite), a carving station, and two hot food stations along with a soup side table. The dessert selection is not as impressive as I would have expected. They have a soft serve machine, a variety of cookies, and a few pieces of cake, but that was it! Felt like it was a bit lackluster. The food overall was decent, but I feel like some of the food was too salty and a few items were not too fresh. The fried chicken had crispy skin, but was bathed in a ton of salt. I loved the baked chicken though. Perfect seasoning. I wish they had more fresh, cooked vegetable options. The steamed broccoli was far too over cooked. The green beans and corn kernels are all canned so they tend to be soggy and tasteless. The floor is also intensely sticky. I think certain items are hit or miss, but if you’re in the mood for a buffet just for the immense amount of options, Hometown buffet is a decent establishment to try. Just watch out for little kids carrying overfilled icees running around the restaurant!

What a joke you actually have to pay separate for your beverages at a buffet it has been four years since i have been to this restaurant and the changes they have made are not for the better, salad and dinner plates are small you cant fit anything on them my husband and i were there at noon and the food was all dried out, cold containers empty and a horrible selection of food. The restaurant was empty the whole time we were there i remember when the line went out the door its easy to see why that has changed. i was very disappointed in the quality of food and service the worst $ 22.00 i have spent in a long time i’m sorry to say but i do not recommend this place at all i was very hungry when i arrived at the restaurant and i left hungry that’s sad, Do yourself a favor save your money!!!

Food is overall pretty decent and well stocked, but nothing is outstanding. Most rely on a LOT of salt. Service is pretty friendly, but why is the floor(I’m talking carpet, guys) so, so dirty? Honestly made me wary of eating… Sorry guys, not sure what’s up with that but I’d rather not come regularly. Not sure why nothing has been done about cleanliness kinda going down with the consistent negative reviews here :/

The chicken is awful and smell so bad! I wonder with too many complains here this place is still in business !! Food is trashy and smelly. I can not go to any other buffet because it reminds me of this smelly foooood. ewwww. The desert(cake and ice cream) is better and the staff are totally nice and helpful though

You know how you go to a Buffet & everything looks delicious & you want pretty much Everything in the plate, & you can help to decide what you want 1st. WELLNOTTHISPLACE! Absolutely disgusting! Place is filthy! Bathroom are filthy as well, this place should be closed down. Food is horrible, old and over cooked. Looks like they can’t afford real food. Customer service was great from this one guy(Manuel) very friendly wearing a yellow shirt. That’s about it! Overall horrible experience.

This restaurant was absolutely disgusting. Every food item is obviously purchased from the can, processed, or packaged. Floors were dirty, the bathroom was filthy, and workers continued wiping down food areas with wet rags. You’re better off going to Souplantation for a healthier experience…

If you are really hungry for a variety of different food choices, I would recommend coming here. The food is mediocre but for the low prices what do you expect. Most the food is dry and flavorless but at least the ice cream is good. In my opinion, they should raise the prices a few dollars and increase the food quality because most people nowadays like quality over quantity.

Sadly one persons can ruin the whole experience. I went 2 weeks ago. I know what I’m getting a home town, I know their price and I wasn’t expecting egg Benedict and mimosas. But at least decent service from all their staff. The hostess was super rude. We watched her being rude to somebody else, she treated is ok. Until we showed her our coupons from«retail me not» she basically rolled her eyes and say«Ok» with this«tone», then she messed up and didnt charged us for 2 beverages and gave us just one cup and a water cup. When i asked for the extra cup, she used the tone again and argued that we didn’t ask for 2 drinks. A persons like that can ruin your whole experience if you let her. She look young and dumb, we all been there and made me think who obnoxious we can be a certain age. Hopefully she’ll grow out of that attitude. Hopefully…

I go to the one in Canoga Park on Fallbrook Avenue. My only complaint is that the online coupons usually only last for a few days, or are specific to a certain day, or a specific serving such as only for lunch or only for dinner. Why can’t you post a link to the coupons that most people received in the mail, aka the general mailer that goes out to people within a certain demographic area? I go to hometown up to 3 times per week, and it would be nice to have the freedom of using an online coupon whenever I want to, at whichever meal service I would like as well. Often, I’m coming straight from work, so it’s hard to go home to grab a coupon in the spur of the moment… And please email me coupons are valid for at least 2 weeks. Typically the people who go to hometown are looking for the best deal possible. $ 4.99 breakfast coupon is awesome, and the $ 5.99 lunch as well.

I used to love coming to the place. While the food has always been very good, and the service wonderful… the prices have gotten insane. Nearly $ 13 for an adult and add on the $ 2.50 charge for drinks??? So basically $ 15.50 before taxes per person? It’s not that good, sorry. Even with a buy one get one free dinner it still came out to $ 19 for myself and my friend. The prices for the drinks needs to be dropped. I remember only a few years ago this place charged about $ 10 per adult including drinks. If the price goes back to that then I’ll come back.

I used to be a fan of this place, but lately their food has became gross. I would say they had better options for lunch and dinner a few months ago. They stopped serving their amazing pasta and orange chicken for some reason, or maybe whenever I go they just run out? I don’t know what the reason is but it’s never there any more and those were my faves :(They have mashed potatoes which sometimes are okay, but in my recent visit they’ve been hard and under cooked. Although, they can never go wrong with their desserts, they have many options. From cookies to cheesecake. Their cheesecake and coconut cream pie’s are the best. My boyfriend loves the banana pudding, he always gets that. The place can get pretty rowdy and packed on «Kid’s Night.» They serve cotton candy, so you can only imagine how wild kids get after consuming a bunch of candy. However, I don’t know if they still do this, it’s been awhile. I would hate going on these night’s because there would be little kids running around while I’m trying to make my way through. The employees are always really nice, I’ve never had anyone be rude or seen them be rude to others. One of the manager’s here, I don’t know her name, but she is really nice. I seen her put up with some rude customers and keep good management and character up. I don’t know how she does it. Also the cashier girls are always nice too. They just need to bring back some of the food D’: and change those nasty mashed potato makers!

Not good. 2 stars since they had an ICEE machine, but otherwise, meh. The French fries were super hard and did not taste good. Food was bad. Fried chickin was super salty and soggish. They did not have the yummy orange sorbet that they used to have. The staff was nice. They cleared our dirty plates reaaally slowly. Never coming back.

I’ve only been here a couple times, on sundays which only have dinner pricing, but it’s pretty good. It’s always full, but i don’t mind. It’s the same food you’ll find at any hometown. I do like that they have a fat free frozen yogurt machine aside from the regular soft serve ice cream machine. Tastes great and it’s healthier! I eat too much when i come here though lol =[
