I would strongly advise anyone not to go to that store. Extremely rude owner! I went there to inquire about working there since a sign was posted on the door. An older man behind the counter(who I later found out was the owner) was extremely rude and wouldn’t let me know anything about the job he was hiring for. Completely ignored me and wouldn’t even look at me even though he didn’t have any customers in the store at the time. Needless to say that I will never be one of his customers.

I have to agree with the other reviews, the sense urgency is not the priority at this place. The restaurant looks like a fast food without the fast part but definitely has the food part. I’ve been to my share of doner kebab places on different continents and this place reminds me of the whole in the wall in Germany I ate at 2AM completely plastered, and I mean this in a positive way. The restaurant is not as fancy or as good as Berlins downtown but it hits the spot if you are looking for a proper kebab. By proper I mean they don’t use the ground beef you find from Gyros places but slices of steak, which by itself deserve a 5 star and minus one for service.

Well my husband met me outside as I drove up from work. He was in the mood for beef schwarma wrap. I am always down for an adventure and while the gentleman behind the counter greeted us and made our wraps quickly. I can’t help to say., it was good and maybe in a pinch I might go back. Hmmmm probably not. I ordered the spicy beef wrap and it wasn’t that spicy and lacked pizzaz aka flava! mehhhhh I will continue my quest for the spicy schwarma wraps and koobideh done right.

As much as I love Doners and appreciate that they sell them here, the food was really lacking. Service was nice, but slow. We are talking over 15 minutes to make my doner, though there was no one else in the restaurant. The restaurant is run down and pretty shabby, but clean, tons of easy parking out front. I asked to sample both meats and he had to turn on the spits first to even heat the meat so it took about 10 minutes for my sample bites, then another 15 for my sandwich. Don’t really like that the meat just sits there all day cold. The bread is authentic and I would have loved it had it been fresh. he toasted it for a minute, not long enough or else I might have not still been able to taste how stale it was. Bread is huge, super skimpy on the fillings, not much veggies, sauce or meat, I was stuck with a ton of bread at the end. Flavor wise both the chicken and beef were dry, but ok, the sauce was good and helped with that. Such a shame, no need to return even though I would love to have a place to grab a doner, I think they don’t get enough business to buy fresh bread daily or keep their meats rotating and hot.

If you are looking for an authentic Turkish Doner don’t even try this place. If you are looking for something too eat which doesn’t kill you pass this place! I ordered an Iskandar kebab which is the most expensive meal in this place and one the most popular foods in Turkey. the server told me «let me check if we have the sause!» and he disappeared in the back for a while! he came back with shaking head positively! the he turned on the grill and warmed the old meat which was grills already and almost burnt! after 20 minutes I got a nasty Iskandar kebab with no tomato sauce! burnt meat, Greek yughort and bread! please stay away with them and keep your stomach healthy!

The doner here is amazing, best in the SF Valley by far. They actually use fresh ingredients & the meat is outstanding. The falafel is pretty good too. Overall rating is A+++

i used to drive past this place and not ever think twice about stopping. looks ghetto on the outside and inside but the truth speaks in the food, and the chicken kabob is great. also the urfa kabob and adana kabob are delicious skewers of reg. or spicy seasoned ground beef. highly recommend eating in or ordering take out. i’m inside now for the 4th straight day. Where else can you find a great, high quality white meat chicken Kabob for $ 6.45?

Some of the blandest, most tasteless food I’ve had; definitely not what I expected from a middle eastern restaurant. Also, if you are a restaurant that makes a choice not to provide customers with a restroom, please at least have the decency to offer hand sanitizer. All in all, you’re much better passing this place right by.

Wasn’t anticipating this place to be what it was — it’s pocketed close to the Ralph’s and behind line of sight, but it’s worth the adventure in finding it. For Turkish/Mediterranean food, which as a picky eater I find difficult to choose from, I enjoyed the Chicken Kebab Salad. The lemon dressing, the lettuce and roasted tomato, along with the seasoned chicken, was to die for. Hummus and pita, tzatziki sauce… yum! Good Job guys!

Both this and the Woodland Hills locations are great. Same owners, I believe. Same good doner:) I love their chicken doner plate with rice and their tatziki(yogurt sauce) is our everyday favorite. Wrap or plate, same goodness. They also have a really good lentil soup. Really good:) This is our go-to place when we don’t know what to have for dinner. We can always all agree on this place.

I gave this place two different chances since I love kebabs, and lamb so much. Really disappointing. Trying to avoid the rice in the platter, I asked for more salad. Regrets. It was all iceberg, and long strands of raw white onion. I like talking to people so I had to throw the onion away, I would have reeked. The chicken was okay, nothing to write home about. the lamb is better, but the sides and lack of any kind of character to the location or food make me give this place only 2 stars. BTW I was avoiding the rice because I had it before, and I remember it being very boring. I asked for the veggies to be grilled extra cooked, and the tomato was cold in the middle. Not charred on the outside either. The flatbread I received was so stale, by the time I got it to work, it was a cracker. Sop I tried using it as a chip, with the nasty hot sauce this meal came with. the sauce appears to be a dressed up ketchup. Really strange. Let down to the max, I’ll just make the drive to zankou.

Could somebody tells me, why they ate still in business ??? I was thinking about this and came to conclusion. 1-people who eats this food does not have any idea about doner kebab. 2.food it is cheap and people just want to fill up their stomach. Very low quality ingredients and presentation Never ever back again.

I love doner, but I have to say, Doner King was pretty disappointing. I had the beef wrap and it was really bland and the salad inside looked old and wilted. On the plus side, they’ll put french fries inside your wrap for only 50 cents — just like I used to eat in Italy! The inside is nicer than I expected, but I don’t think they have ac because it was sweltering inside. I think the Unilocal map or address is also incorrect because its located further down on Sherman Way by Shoup.
