Came here for lunch while we were visiting. It is a nice building but cheap table clothes and dining wear. Waitress was sweet. The turkey club was good but the toast was a little too hard. It’s just an A-ok place. There are definitely better options so I wouldn’t return.

Great breakfast option in Cannon Beach. Veggie omelet had a hearty amount of vegetables. The side of fried potatoes was abundant and even though I’m not a big potato fan, they were good with a crispy exterior and good seasoning. The fruit cup was over flowing with seasonal fruit. And my kids raved about the hot chocolate!

Went here in the late summer as we all needed to eat asap! Outside tables and indoors too, interiors are dark wood but overall pleasant. They have a good selection of food, some seafood and other, plus various drinks including wine and beer. They also sell scoop ice cream. I got talked into eating halibut fish and chips even though it was rather expensive to me. it got it and it was delicious but still pricey. But you get a lot of fish and fries so it was a hearty meal. Waiters were helpful with our baby, plus we had to go inside from outdoor seating as it started to rain, but they helped bring our stuff in. Overall a good place to eat if you want to splurge a little and treat yourself.

Tried breakfast and dinner on this trip, hoping that things had improved. I was disappointed. Food is mediocre at best, service is okay. This will be my last visit unless things change drastically. Pricey, $ 32 for two people, just a breakfast option and coffee.

Great place and patio seating is great for dogs(which are welcome here) and people watching. I ordered the chowder for an appetizer and my parents shared the steamed clams. For dinner we had the crab melt. The chowder was creamy and had a great taste to it. The clams had garlic(not overwhelming though) and a white wine sauce and there were a lot of them. The crab melts were AMAZING!!! Overall great place, loved that they welcome dogs on the patio especially when you are walking around the town the last thing you want to do is take the dog to the car. Service was amazing and very on top of it. The host was super welcoming and the waitress was very knowledgeable and very friendly. Please check this place out if you are in The area, highly recommended.

During a weekend trip to Cannon Beach ate here twice! The reason… The Dungeness crab melt, a gooey open faced English muffin packed with a third pound fresh Dungeness crab, tomatoes, Tillamook cheddar cheese! Melted to perfection! They have a lovely outside deck in full sun asking along the main street downtown Cannon Beach. They have other salads and sandwiches but this is a local specialty, just have this, you won’t be disappointed!

FOODPOISONING! RUN! My family and I ate here on a recent trip to Cannon Beach. Yikes. I should have read the Unilocal reviews before I went. The food was disgusting, caused myself, my father and my daughter(all had burgers) to get very ill that evening and the next day. YUCK! The server was a young male with an welcoming manner. The menu notes GF on many items, but there is cross-contamination in the fryer and other cooking surfaces in the kitchen. This set-up does not qualify as GF. This place is a disgrace. The food is unsafe and the staff seems thoroughly unhappy and disinterested… the owner probably sucks too.

The chowder was average at best. French dip was bland in flavor, needs some additions as it is just plain old deli meat. I would probably only go back for the salad bar and ice cream.

We have been going here for 8 years on our summer vacations and never had a bad meal. Decent kids selection, delicious chicken Cobb salad, good enough beer selection, kid friendly, friendly servers, great fish and chips, dogs allowed outside with dog bowls conveniently placed. All beach town restaurants are somewhat expensive but for 3 adults and 2 kids to have lunch, beers, and ice cream for the kids at $ 100 — not bad. This will continue to be a must go restaurant!

The first visit was a good experience. I was sat with three others, on the dog-friendly patio. The waitress was attentive and the overpriced food was provided quickly and to order. I had the salad bar and while it’s very small, everything tasted good(even the canned beets). This latest visit was very unpleasant. I ordered a latte that tasted fine, using local roasters. The scone(also overpriced) was terrible for one reason. It wasn’t the flavor, nice and buttery and sweet, nor was it the texture. There was mold in the scone! Beware of the baked goods… I considered giving it a one because of the mold, combined with the previous positive experience. Mold is just inexcusable but I’m sure it’s not the norm. Consider this a 1.5 though.

I have not eaten here in a very long time and we decided to give it a go for a late lunch. I honestly was not expecting much but was delighted. My husband ordered their fried plate which had a chunk of fish, shrimp and oysters with fries. I tried one of the oysters and a bit of the fish which were both respectable though the fries were just meh. I ordered the Crab Louie salad which was very good and had a nice pile of crab on top, very fresh veggies and was a very tasty lunch worth its $ 20 price tag — I was not expecting that much crab. The service was super good though we were some of the only folks there so its too bad a lot of others seemed to have experienced such poor service. We had some of the best service ever really.

I went here yesterday after a great day walking around the beach and watching my dog try to dig up mussels. The fried seafood is all clearly pre-cooked frozen fare they have deep fried. It’s also incredibly bland. Except for the fried Calamari which is way too spicy. The baked potato was bruised in multiple places giving it lovely black spots I was not willing to eat. Service was damn near nonexistent. The waiter brought my dining companion’s drink out and I still had to ask for my water when he came back with her soup. What made it all even better is that we tried to complain to the woman who seemed to be in charge, but every time my companion tried to get her attention when she was near but she ignored us every single time. Overpriced, terrible service and food you could cook better at home. Only the salad bar and clam chowder was worth the trip.

One-word impression: TRAP! I was at the Local Grill & Scoop for lunch with my family recently during our trip to Cannon Beach, and it was a very bad experience. Ugh, I even feel quesy just conjuring the memories needed to write this review. First, with the food, it was totally mediocre and inconsistent. I had the sirloin sandwich, which essentially was a greasy piece of meat slapped inside of a hoagie roll with tomatoes and lettuce. It lacked any other dressings like mayo or mustard that could have at least made it interesting, nor were such condiments offered. My wife had the salmon plate, which she was vocal about not enjoying. My son also barely touched his hamburger, which was a thin patty inside a bun with nothing else; any fast food establishment’s hamburger would have easily trumped this. We also split the calamari, which unfortunately was very inconsistent in its breading and seasoning, as some pieces were bland though others were very spicy. The only thing that was decent was the clam chowder, which I cannot dis, as it was solid. Beyond the bad food though was the unsettling service and feel of the hospitality. Our server was young, but seemed detached from our needs aside from bringing out the food. There was also another guy who dropped by our table at times who seemed more interested in making inane conversation than attending to our dining experience. The worst though was the feeling that the restaurant cared less about given you a good experience and more about taking your tourist money. For example, when my father-in-law asked for extra bread for his soup, the waiter was prompt in stating that it would be an extra charge of around $ 1.89 per piece. He did get that extra bread, though in the final bill, they charged twice that amount! That leads to my final issue about the Local Grill & Scoop, which was the cost. Each of the dishes, for the quality that we got, were horribly overpriced. Even in more metropolitan tourist places, my family and I could have had a much better meal for the same cost, as each dish was priced at least 50% more than it should have. We left Local Grill & Scoop feeling thoroughly ripped off and with a bad taste in our mouths. It definitely affected how we felt the rest of the day, which is not how you want to feel on holiday. This place is a total tourist trap and should be avoided, as it otherwise marred what was a lovely day at such a beautiful beach.

If you love grease and undercooked food, go here. The fries were pure grease. You know the kind. Not crispy in any way, heavy, grease filled(as if they’ve dumped extra on top) not cooked correctly or drained. The hamburger was undercooked with red and pink meat. Realized half through it. Went back to get a new one. This one was grenadier than the first with the bottom bun sopping wet with grease… Took it off and tried to eat it but too min grease. Will never return. Nasty nasty.

We went here for lunch today and we won’t be back. It’s expensive for mediocre food. I had a Cobb salad, the tomatoes were mushy. My husband s sandwich was dried out. Just not good.

Have to say that I am not impressed with this place. Service is not very good, food isn’t anything to write home about, and the prices are much to high for poor service and low quality food. I hate writing bad reviews about a locally owned business but I think they need to wake up and smell the roses. For the same money or less one can get a far better meal and much better service by simply walking a block in any direction.

My wife and I came here for a quick lunch. The seafood was fresh and a lot tastier than one of the local upscale restaurants. Super friendly service and fairly priced. We will definitely be back next time we are on the coast with the kids.

One of the best food spots in Cannon Beach — great service, atmosphere and great food. We actually came here twice to eat, dinner and the next day for breakfast. For dinner: the chicken fajitas may not be the best option because ya know, if you want a Mexican dish might as well go to a Mexican restaurant but my hubbys salad was super good and so was the clam chowder soup we shared. Make sure you get a small bowl of it and its easy to share as an appetizer because its just small enough for both to taste. Breakfast: Steak & eggs are a tasty dish, comes with fruit and bread, which is way more food needed for a human to consume but it was good! Great street parking, sit outside and people watch while you eat, this place isn’t so keen on hurrying anything up which makes it perfect for you to just sit and relax and take your time.

Basic food with lots of fried seafood options. Grabbing lunch here, and not being particularly hungry, went for the soup and all you can eat salad bar option. The all you can eat salad bar is basic but very good value at $ 6/$ 7. If you’re a fan of condiment salad toppings(pickles, beets, chillies, jalapeños, etc) then you won’t be disappointed. Salad and soup options available, again pretty standard. Great patio(that’s dog friendly), that gets a lot of sunshine.

Had breakfast here this morning before leaving Cannon Beach. We got there just before 9 and there were only a couple other diners so there was no wait time at all. The man who greeted and seated us was not all that friendly or welcoming, but fortunately our server was awesome. I had the Eggs Benedict with crab, which is what I will usually order at any breakfast spot that offers it. It came with home fries, which were not the greatest I’ve ever had, but were decent. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the crab was generously portioned and delicious. The kiddo had the kid’s combo, which comes with one pancake, one egg, and either a slice of bacon or a sausage link — she opted for the bacon. I tried to ask her how it was, but she was too busy stuffing her face, so I guess that says enough in itself. All in all, it was a solid breakfast(although just a tad bit on the pricey side for standard breakfast fare) and I would likely dine here again the next time we visit Cannon Beach.
