This library is small, but has the basics. We came in as tourists just to check it out. They had a booksale going on and we picked up a few cookbooks at an inexpensive price. Librarian was the sweetest person ever and was a transplant there herself so she told us all about Oregon and Cannon Beach.

While visiting the Oregon coast recently I visited this wonderful, small library. Its nestled in among some trees in the middle of a shop littered street full of tourist attracting knickknacks and art. I am truly a lover of books. However just don’t get into libraries much. I recently started going in a little more often after helping construct the new Battle Ground Washington Library. What got my attention is that most libraries have«Friends of the Libraries» volunteer organizations that help fund raise for books and improvements, and needs that the libraries have, that tax payer funds just don’t cover. The Cannon Beach Library is no exception. They have little room full of books, old and new for sale for just pennies on the dollar compared to your local book store or supermarket. I’m not just talking old books here. They have books that are donated often from release dates within just months of your visits. You can’t beat the prices and the money is put to good use at the library. This library is clean, neat and wonderfully laid out for how small it is. They have also chosen to give a great focus on children. Close to a third of the building is a very inviting children s room that I found myself drawn too. Great Job Cannon Beach Library.
