This place is very clean, water is always warm, showers are great, and instructors are very friendly. The life guard is always on duty and very attentive. If this is all you want from a swimming school then this is the place to go. If you expect your kids to progress in swimming this is not the place to go. While very friendly many instructors are not professional. The school keeps their students on the same level without any progression for years. If you get very lucky and get a good instructor then after maybe 8 or 9 years your kid will graduate with decent swimming technique, but no strength to compete even in elementary school.

My son has been here for only 4 classes and he is now be able to swim across from one side to the other. The instructor Dylan is very patient with his student and he makes my son wants to go to swimming school every week. All the staffs here are very nice and friendly which I feel my son is in a right place to learn and have fun swimming. I highly recommend the parents who are looking for a swimming school. This is a safe and fun school for your kids to enjoy swimming.

I have to look for another swim school for my 5 month old. This place has some ridiculous policies! My son got sick with a bad cold on his 5 month birthday March 30th, and is still sick(April 7th) I had to miss his class on Friday the first and I will have to miss tomorrow the 8th. I called the day he got sick to let them know I will not be able to make it and to go ahead and cancel the next class too. They said their policy is that I have to pay for the class even if my son will not be attending. I couldn’t cancel the next class because they also require a two week notice and would have to come in to fill that form out! No other other swim schools have policies as such! It just doesn’t make sense to me because they aren’t letting me cancel and I still have to PAY for the classes he will not be taking! So if your children get sick, which babies do. You don’t have an option but to let them eat your money! Not to mention their swim instructors are not trained enough to facilitate a swim class for babies! My instructor kept contradicting himself as to what to do with my son during our lesson. I wish I could give them no stars! They don’t have any lockers for your stuff either.

My kid was switched classes/teacher’s without notice and have lost interest in swimming. Also, I had noticed in the past that my kid was not progressing or doing a very slow progress on his overall swim lessons, and to some extent I feel that they are looking at how much classes or revenue a kid had brought in before they recommend them to the next level rather than helping them progress well and move them to the next level automatically. They don’t offer any make up classes as well. Overall other parents also shared a similar progressing issue as well. On the above said situations, when we question them, they talk to you like you go deal with it, rather than trying to help or take necessary steps. I will not recommend this place to another parent.

We have been with Sutton for over 4 years. My 2 kids started at the old location in Cupertino as babies. We had several instructors along the way, and they all have been great with kids. My girls are not the most easy-going: the older one is stubborn and anxious, the younger one is not a huge fan of water, but their teachers found the right approach to make them feel safe and engaged. Leo, the manager, is extremely nice and helpful. The brand-new facility is much bigger, including a larger pool space. The water temperature kept at a very comfortable level for kids. One thing that makes Sutton stand out(and we visited several pools) is that their pool water has always been very clean and without an overpowering smell of chlorine. I cannot comment on the quality of instruction at higher skill levels, we are not there yet. So far, the goals for my kids have been safety and feeling comfortable in the water, and I am very happy with their progress at Sutton.
