Nice place for lunch. Not very expensive, sushi is delicious. Environment is okay too

I was finally able to try this place when I came here over the weekend with some coworkers. It was my first time here and it was great! The service was great! They waiters are always on top of it and refilled our drinks. They were able to split all of our bills since we came in with a larger group. Their prices are great as well. The food was fresh and tasted amazing. I ordered 2 lion king rolls which come with 4 pieces in each order for $ 4.95 and a kappa maki roll which comes with 6 pieces for $ 2.95. This place is usually crowded so come early or make a reservation! I plan on coming back to try their bentos since they serve huge portions.

First time I bought to go food from here was on accident. I was at the FedEx store next door to pick up a package and was craving sushi. I tried the bento box that had chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu. I also ordered fried CA roll and avocado roll. For the generous amount of food I paid for, its really cheap for really good food! Since my first trip here last December I’ve been back 3 – 4 times. Great food for a great price. I’ll be back soon!

They have a lot of fusion rolls, some of them really spicy. I like their Paradise Roll with tuna, mango and jalapeño…yummy. They also have great traditional rolls, sushi and bento boxes. They have a wonderful beef tataki as well as HAPPYHOUR.

Been to several sushi places in the area and this one is my favorite. Love the variety. If you sit at the sushi bar, you can always ask for fresh sushi and they make it for you within a minute or two. My favorites are the salmon spicy hanabi, spicy paradise and the seared salmon. They also have great steamed pot stickers. This place is also great if you are in a hurry. You can be in and out within 15 minutes if you need to be on your way. At the same time you can stay and chat and not feel rushed.

Bad quality food! Sushi boat is gross… Sushi rice is hard, rolls are filled with mostly rice. Looks like the food has been sitting there for a long time, a lot of them are not covered. Also got a chicken bento. Miso soup was the only good thing. Chicken was super sweet and fatty. They made Mac salad out of spaghetti noodles. Tasted bad like it was old. First time coming here and last time coming. Giving it two stars because our server actually kept checking up on us.

We ran in tonight to get a sushi fix. They have new ownership and it is obvious. The atmosphere has changed. I immediately noticed that the rice tasted different and the fish is not all that fresh. I ordered a California Roll from the sushi chef and it had no avocado in it! There was hardly anyone in there and the service was slow. When they refilled our tea it was luke warm. Maybe it is an off night. We will give it one more try. I am hoping that the new owners read this and make positive improvements.

We have been here several times with our kids, both for lunch and dinner. The atmosphere is very casual and they have been extraordinary in accommodating our kids. The sushi is really good in my opinion, although I hate the idea of those boats floating around with stuff at room temperature. Note to establishment: Please get milk for the kids. The apple juice is like $ 4 and not worth it, even in those cute little Martinelli’s bottles. I’d like to see an update to the interior. If you are looking for a rock and roll style sushi bar or even a really nice sushi bar, this is not it. The interior feels dated and blah. That is really the only thing I don’t like about this place. If they updated the interior, this would be a five star place.

new owner, smaller portions and the service is starting to suffer as well. Sad.

Relaxed atmosphere. Great sushi at a good price. They have lots of seating. They have the sushi boasts but also lots of seating by themselves. BATMAN roll is amazing!

We stopped in never having done sushi boats and had a fun time. The sushi was not incredibly varied, but most everything we had was good.

The place to go for authentic Japanese food and fresh sushi. Staff is great and friendly. We’ve been there enough to know the sushi chefs we like.

Favorite Sushi restaurant EVER ! Fresh, Fun & Welcoming. I just love this place. Would be nice if the sodas had FREE refills but other than that, its a FANTASTIC place. The Nutcracker can’t be beat !!

I’ve been to this sushi restaurant a few times before and it’s mostly been a good experience. The sushi itself is actually really good and fresh, I almost always get the golden rolls here… they’re seriously delicious! The service is definitely something that could be improved, although the last time I ate here it wasn’t as slow as it usually is. Very decent sushi restaurant, I think it’s at least worth a try.

This place used to be my favorite sushi place. Stoped by for dinner tonight and had a bad experience. The sushi is ok, but the service is horrible.

I eat sushi often, and I really like this spot. Having lived near downtown SJ’s Japan Town, I grew quite fond of Kazoo’s original location and ambience. Hamilton location is a much different dining experience, but still very good. Always great sashimi, and a huge selection of rolls here. Competitive prices for really good sushi. Service is hit and miss, not like J-Town store, which is always solid. If you like sushi and a huge menu of it… by all means try either location. Lots of space and tables surrounding spacious sushi boat bar. Keep an eye out for daily specials, there are some gems to be found on the board. Wish the chef’s were a little more engaging ala Yuki, but not going to bitch about that while they are working so hard.

I used to come to this place 2 – 3 times per month. Then I moved away and recently, I visited this place on my way to a movie. Somehow the quality of the sushi has changed a LOT. This is on Saturday night, not Tuesday. My shrimp tempura nigiri was soggy. C’mon…a wimpy tempura is a crime! Other sushi that I ate didn’t taste fresh — something just off. Most of the sushi on the boat display looked old and unappetizing. What happened???

Kind of ho hum. I sat at the sushi bar and there were quite a few empty boats. These boats seemed to remain empty while I was there. Pretty soon there was a fleet of empty boats and still no one filled them. The servers even had a order their sushi twice I think the chefs were busy gossiping. The sushi didn’t seem to be spiced very well or the rice was too sweet or something something was just off. It’s just not the same as it used to be. Even the service wasn’t very nice. I think three is being generous for my visit today but I’m giving them credit for the great food and service we used to get when we lived in San Jose. Oh and maybe stepping into this century and having iced green tea would be a nice bonus. Taking a cup of green tea and adding ice to it just isn’t the same it ends up just being watery and lukewarm.

This was about as good as you might expect a place called«Sushi Boat Kazoo» to be, which is to say that it was just awful. Seriously, this was some of the worst sushi I’ve ever had. The fish was not particularly fresh or high quality and was overwhelmed by enormous quantities of cloyingly sweet rice. Anything that came with mayo was absolutely drenched in it. This would definitely be 1 star based on sushi alone, but I’ll grudgingly give it an extra one for excellent service and miso soup.
