I contacted Vicki mainly through emails and she was very quick to respond. I ordered vanilla, chocolate, and green tea flavored macaroons from her. I took some to a party I attended and those who tried said they were good. I’d definitely go through Vicki for another macaroon order in the future.

I discovered L23 bakery when I was out in down town San Jose doing a tasting for the food that was going to be served at my baby shower. The caterer I was using, Chef Monalisa had an event and invited me to attend. L23 bakery had a table at the event and I picked up a card. I emailed the bakery and Vicki was kind enough to respond to my inquiry. She and I talked over some ideas for dessert and favors for the baby shower. I mentioned to her that we were having quite a few kids at the shower and I didn’t want to serve anything that was too big and overwhelming. We decided on mini cupcakes. She recommended three of her top flavors. The most popular flavor was red velvet. For the favors, she packaged up two macaroons and tied«It’s a Girl!» ribbons around each. She didn’t charge me for this extra service which was such a sweet and nice touch on her part. Items were delivered on time and displayed very nicely at the shower. I was impressed. My guests couldn’t stop gobbling up the treats. I will use L23 bakery from now on for all dessert needs :)

My latest inspiration! We had a work gathering a couple of weeks ago and it was catered by baked goods from L23 Bakery! From my understanding, Vicki, the owner was a businesswoman and decided to pursue her passion in the last few years and started a bakery! She does not have a store front yet, so you must order by phone or e-mail. It is SOOO worth it. Everything was SO good. We had a huge variety of goodies, but I did not want to hoard it all… so I only tried a couple of things: 1. Red Velvet Cupcake — probably the best one I’ve had yet. It is moist, flavorful, fluffy, and yet somehow not overly sweet. The icing is likewise perfectly sweet without being overpowering. 2. Green Tea Macaroon — SO good. It was more dense, but that’s the way I like them. It was the right amount of chewy and I was so sad when I finished eating it… I also brought back a Goat Cheese Cream Puff for my boyfriend, which he devoured. He loves goat cheese, so he really enjoyed this savory treat! The Goat Cheese Cream Puff is just one of the savory treats you can find at L23 Bakery. I love Chef Vicki’s wide variety of baked goods. I am hoping to have an occasion to order baked goods from L23 Bakery soon(or hopefully work will cater from it again…). I really want to try her tarts next time around!!!
