This is such a little gem of a deli! First of all, I love food. I am a very picky vegetarian with gluten allergies.(Tough, I know) The Farmer’s Deli and Bakery never fails to disappoint! The falafel is so light and flavorful, the sauces are so tasty. They even have gluten free desserts which are to die for. There is a ton for meat eaters as well. The meatballs are said to be amazing. I am so full right now, so many flavors. So very happy. Please come visit this little place. It is family run and operated. They pour love into their recipes. They have a freezer section where you can pick up homemade food to go.

Honest to goodness, worth the drive from just about anywhere in Northern California. We were driving home from Tahoe and a friend had recommended the place, and we were getting pretty snacky, so we dropped by — have to admit when I saw the shopping Center, I was not expecting much. Boy was I wrong. I assume he had to be the owner, but a gentleman offered us samples of their lamb gyro(yummmm!), lemon tart(to die for), baklava(delicious, not overly sweet), and a couple of their breads. The lemon tart was gluten free, and they actually had a wonderful selection of gluten free goods. I ended up walking away with almost $ 40 in pastries and bread and it was definitely worth it! I got two loaves of their excellent focaccia, half a dozen baklava, two gluten-free lemon tarts, an apple pastry(heavenly), and a little frozen pasta dish to bring home and bake. Definitely don’t miss this spot!

I live right down the road from this place and was really hoping for something good considering there isn’t much this immediate area. I had high hopes after seeing all the good reviews, so I decided to give it a try. Food was pretty good, but WAY over priced, which is probably why a lot of their dishes are frozen. Drop your prices and you will have my business. On a good note, the young man who helped me was very polite and friendly.

Great little pit stop between the Bay and Tahoe, plenty of gluten free options, the gyros were yummy and we had a lemon tart with almond crust that was very refreshing!

Wow! Such great service and the food is incredible! They made a suggestion for their turkey meatball sandwich for my son to eat, and I pretty much stole it after I tasted it. So delicious! I will surely make this my go to place from now on in Cameron Park. Fresh and fast!

The service here is great, the people who work here are very friendly and helpful. They even offer samples if you’re curious about something. They have gluten-free options that are pretty good, but some of them you have to pre-order. The gluten-free brownie is amazing.

We are new to the area and stumbled upon this place on accident and I’m so thankful we did! The food is absolutely delicious and the family-run, friendly service is so refreshing! Went for the second time and was equally, if not more impressed! The first trip I had the Italian meatball sandwich which was tasty. Today I tried the chicken gyro and oh my goodness! I will be getting that again! The owner brought us a sampling of baklava after and it was probably the best I’ve ever had. They also let us sample a piece of falafel for a friend who had never had it before. :) Such good people and wonderful from scratch food. I can’t wait to eat here more and try EVERYTHING! The baked treats are equally delightful. I’ve tried the apple strudel, brownie and lemon tart. I’ve purchased some freezer items, as well, that I can’t wait to try!

Since I had never been in I wasn’t sure what to order. The owner was so nice. I can’t say enough how helpful and patient she was with me when trying to select a few things to try. I decided on the apple strudel. Which was so flipping good. I split it with my husband and regretted it cuz I wanted to eat the whole thing. I also got some baklava. This is not my favorite snack as I’ve only had store bought. Well it’s night and day. The baklava was perfect and I will be buying it all the time here. I can’t wait to try the sandwiches and other dishes. I’m so happy to have this business here in Cameron Park. Please never leave us :)

I enjoyed the Chicken Piccata. If you love lemon, you will like this citrusy dish. I had it with the Noketli(Hungarian dumplings), which were very creamy. They remind me of the«neffles» my grandma from Austria used to make. I also got the PB&J cookies. They are addictive, however I did exercise self-control :) Great with a cold glass of milk or a cup of tea.

Healthy, fresh, homemade everything. This bakery is a nutritionist’s haven traveling between Tahoe and the Bay. They have gluten free and vegan options, as well as meaty treats for those who partake. I had a falafel pita, and it was by far the best I have ever had! The pita was freshly baked heaven, the falafel was seasoned with delicious herbs, vegetables were fresh and crunchy, and the homemade tahini sauce was spicy delicious. I am so happy to find healthy, quick, and yummy road food! Yay! And the owner even treated us with a bag of rosemary bread sticks! Can’t wait to dig into the chocolate brownie!

Ive never been lucky enough to see one of these owners decide to take up for their business. I gave an honest review. I guess the owner gave an honest answer that she is a vindictive owner by trying to call me out by first and last name. Good night! This is a whole new level of Restaurant Owners gone bad on Unilocal! Since my family has been in the restaurant business so long, Ive always been taught to let the food speak for itself, not some long winded owner. I reserve my 1 star reviews for real disappointments because I understand there is an owner behind every review. Since my family is in food, I do weigh that. but there are too many bad restaurants and I dont need bad ones taking my money, so I try to share my experiences so we all feel satisfied when spending our hard earned money. It’s new to have an owner feeling the need to try and call me out. Welcome to a small town. Ill make sure to let everyone in town know my opinions on this restaurant instead of just leaving it on Unilocal. Im not ashamed of my review. It was that bad. If you check my reviews you will see they come from all over the united states, Im lucky to get to travel and it gives me a broader perspective and has allowed me to eat in some amazing restaurants. In cameron park there are like 6 pizza places, a sizzler, a jimboys and a kfc. I skipped a few places, but you get the idea. Im sure this is excellent in comparison. I can cook well, so Id much rather have spent that almost 80 dollars on ingredients. I understand this area has a dearth of good food options but I still stand by this being among my most disappointing meals in all of el dorado county and Im just shaking my head that an owner felt the need to go to these comment lengths. **I reported this business owner for the horrendous message she left on my review where she tried to track my order down by searching through credit card transactions and then call me out by a first and last name!!!(i wouldnt have cared so much if she woulda got that right because Im not ashamed of my review about this restaurant) It was a DOOOZY. I had another Unilocaler leave a Just a Note compliment on my review if you want to get another perspective on how bad the response was since Unilocal has deleted the entire comment now. My hope was they would just remove the name so you could see how bad the customer service was from this business. Wow. Dont leave a bad review(no matter how honest) for these folks or they might retaliate! **second edit just because I feel it is important you understand this exchange thoroughly. The owner did remove the last paragraph which was plenty long enough to try and infer I am not who my Unilocal reviews say I am and to break Unilocal rules by trying to publicly bully someone using their first and last name. The owner did not check us out, she had to have tried to search through transactions by name. She did put her review back up and Ill let you read it to decide if it is a doozy. I still think so. I dont even feel safe having my picture on Unilocal anymore! Ive been leaving reviews for years so this would be a really elaborate hoax to take down Farmer’s Deli in cameron park, ca… Here is that compliment I received from another Unilocal user so you dont have to click through to find it: «Wow that response from the business was so incredibly rude and condescending that I feel I cannot eat there. And as a side note, pita bread is definitely not Greek and I did not see pita in Greece at all while I was there. I was really excited about going to eat here after reading reviews, and the price issue wouldn’t bother me, but I would never give my money to a business patron that literally bullies their customers on the Internet. Have you heard the phrase „the customer’s always right“…swallow your pride, and practice good customer service. Don’t defend your food and bully your patrons. If your food is so good it will speak for itself. Which is probably best, since the business owner can’t seem to maintain respect and professionalism when criticized.» I wont be posting again on this. I said my original opinion and I would have never came back and updated my review because the situation was done. But this owner did something no other owner, in my almost 100 reviews on Unilocal has done. She could have reached out to me privately and exercised customer service. If she would have contacted me privately to apologize, because that is what you do when you own a business and someone doesnt have a good experience. you apologize and you try to do better. I would have updated my review. That’s what happens here on Unilocal time after time. I think we all appreciate that any business can have a bad day. Not everyone is going to love your food. And your skin must be thicker than to try and publically attack them. The restaurant business is hard. I hope this owner can learn from this instead of continuing to dig in deeper.

Absolutely blown away! Located in a aged strip mall in Cameron Park, this is a true example of not judging a book by its cover. In my opinion Unilocal truly shines when it comes to places like this, allowing the community to shout to the rafters that there is good food being served here and it is worth your time. They are literally making everything from scratch and that has to be applauded. Specializing in Greek, Romanian and Hungarian comfort food I couldn’t pass up a chance to try the Keftethes on Rosemary Focacia. Made with Wagyu it was seasoned wonderfully but it is not rolled like a traditional meatball but rather flattened. It fit perfectly for a sandwich but the beef was a bit dry. The flattening could have been the cause but certainly the flavor forced me to overlook any dryness. The Focaccia was the best bread I have had. It was so light and airy but held up perfectly to the ingredients and never fell apart. The sandwich toppings were Tzatziki, romaine lettuce, red onion, tomato, cucumber and paprika. The Tzatziki bummed me out as it has ruined other Tzatziki’s going forward. So creamy, so dill-ey it is a winner. The mrs. loved her Falafel and the little lady devoured her BLT. No kids menu but she finished her«adult» size sandwich. The service was super friendly. I will be back.

My girlfriend and I stopped at a local deli called Farmer’s Delicatessen & Bakery, which is in Cameron Park, California. For those of you unfamiliar with the area, Cameron Park sits just above El Dorado Hills and Folsom. When we walked into the deli there was an aroma that neither of us could initially place. It was that of their applewood smoked bacon. It filled the place with this a delicious, but not an overpowering, presence that made the deli fell warm and made me miss pork. Short story there, my girlfriend doesn’t handle pork well, so I don’t eat it. There are only a few tables in the deli and what initially was this odd empty serving station, which the owner later explained was used for their tasting and sampling days. There’s also a freezer stocked to the gills with various sauces, baked goods, and other to-go meals that they prep for people to take home and cook or reheat. The only frozen food that we tried of theirs was their garlic knots, which were soft, garlicky, and amazing after a few minutes in the oven to reheat them. I also took some to work the next day and they were just as good after a moment in the microwave. Speaking of garlic, I’ve seen some reviews of the deli saying they use a lot of garlic. I can agree with that, in that they do use garlic in a lot of their recipes from what I saw on labels, or tasted. But we didn’t find it overpowering, nor to be too much. But with so many recipes from across the pond garlic is a crucial and or recurring ingredient. Plus I love garlic. The owners are some of the nicest restaurateurs I’ve ever met. We stopped at the deli on a whim, after seeing it in the small strip mall location for some time. Why? Becuase they wanted to talk to us, they want to share their food and did through a host of samples. Apple strudel, two or three different types of bread, some pita, applewood smoked bacon that was perfect with just enough crisp to it, their tzatziki sauce. This did pull us in further and made us want to order something. Gyros were on the menu, and I love me a good lamb Gyro. My girlfriend ordered a chicken gyro. It made it all the better, especially for her that so much of their menu is gluten-free and vegan. The biggest thing was that everything is made fresh on site. We ordered Gyros, which came on a cloud they called pita bread, I’m convinced they actually found a way to make clouds capable of containing their gyro ingredients. The lamb was so damn tender it melted in my mouth, and the tomato was juicy and I suspect local. Their tzatziki sauce was great, I only have one note on that, and that it had a very strong cucumber taste, that I’m not used to in the tzatziki sauces I’ve had before. But in no way was it bad, I’d love to have their gyro with this tzatziki sauce on it again. In reality, every sauce is different and this is just another version of one of the best sauces on Earth. At the end of it all, they offered us some of their day old bread, which was as soft as could be and was absolutely perfect for sandwiches the next few days and I couldn’t help but eat it plain as a snack over the course of the next few days. We turned it into grilled cheeses and even used the rosemary and garlic bread round they gave us with some olive oil and vinegar. I would without a doubt say that if their day old bread was that good we’ll be buying some of their fresh bread. We’ve already started looking at replacing the bread we buy from the grocery store with their bread, as it’s simply better all around. From the taste, to texture and shelf life. The last thing I want to talk about is a price. Obviously, the price is something a lot of people think about when they chose to eat out. We all want our bang for our buck. I personally feel that the deli is a bit pricey, and I know right away if you were to walk in and say that to the owners they would defend this with homemade food that is fresh and locally sourced, when available which with spring and summer quickly approaching those sources are aplenty. Two Gyros, a lamb gyro and a chicken gyro cost us $ 23.76, which included tax and 3.0% debit/credit card charge that a lot of small business do charge to help offset the charge that their card processing merchant charges them. This 3.0% charge only accounted for $ 0.65, so that isn’t bad at all. Even on a large order it wouldn’t cost you more than a buck or so. Which for two, on are an average meal, is a bit higher. But it isn’t bad at all considering the ingredients are delicious, fresh, and the sandwiches are made to order. It’s not like a major grocery store chain with their meat and ingredients sitting in a bin under a sneeze guard. I can’t lie that I had their gyro again for lunch today. All of my experiences at Farmer’s have been exceptional. Their location is quant but convenient and kept spotlessly clean. The owners welcome everyone with warmth and genuine friendliness. The staff are helpful and obviously enjoy their profession. The food is made with love. Everything is handcrafted from scratch, and the spices are blended perfectly. The pita bread is fresh, it holds together all of the generously portioned mouth watering food without falling apart and it melts in your mouth. I have continued to return to Farmer’s and try to bring new people with me each time. Everyone has been highly impressed with the experience.

This is a deli that also offers pre-made fresh-frozen meals. I had the delivious chicken gyro on scratch-made pita for lunch. It was full of marinated chicken fresh tomatoes, lettuce, and cucumbers, and very yummy tzatziki sauce. Also had a piece of baklava… Tons of sweet nutty filling. Although the decoration is sparse, if you’re looking for a quick healthy meal, this place is great. I can’t wait to come back and try the falafel and Greek meatball sandwich. Would also like to try some of their take-home meals. What a great idea! Way better for us than kfc!

I tried Christine’s Rosemary Focaccia at the Historic Folsom Farmer’s market and now I am hooked!!! Her new location in Cameron Park and is perfect. On bread days you can walk right in and buy fresh Pita, Baklava or Rosemary Focaccia bread right off the baking racks. Totally fresh and of course they’re her family recipes so you know they’re authentic. Her menu is a unique blend of Greek, Italian, Hungarian & Romanian food. What makes Farmer’s Delicatessen’s different is that everything is made from scratch at this location and frozen in microwaveable containers so you can take it and eat it in the convenience of your own home. How unique is that? Love it! I definitely recommend trying everything at least once before you settle of your«regulars» or «favorites». Enjoy!!!
