Pretty good sandwiches. I enjoyed their grilled cheese and tomato with soup special. The pesto is good too. Can be crowded at lunch time. Line doesn’t always move very fast.

You Curry Chicken Wrap is just AMAZING! Blew my expectations away. It was flavorful, creamy and had hints of sweet raisins or some kind of fruit? Sauces were not over power. Loaded with Chicken. Very satisfied with the wrap.

I wish I found this place before my last day in Cambridge! This place had the 2nd best breakfast sandwich I ate during my time here. I will definitely be back next time I’m in town. Breakfast Sandwich: 4 stars Cheddar cheese, 2 eggs, meat(bacon, ham, or sausage). My sandwich had bacon & pumpernickel. As promised by other reviews, the sandwich was a fantastic size/price ratio. They used freshly cooked eggs(none of the pre-made egg squares that other places in Cambridge like using). 2⁄3 of the sandwich was more than enough to fill me up, but it was so good that I finished almost all of it. I’m still ruefully eyeing the last 2 bites, wondering if I can finish it without uncomfortable consequences… =)

Driest sandwich with shit load of dry chewy chicken and hardly any pesto. Meh, as the man said. Will definitely check out some of their other items on the menu before throwing in the towel for this place.

To get here, you have to pass in front of lots of busy and very attractive competitors. The Squeaky Beaker has a ton of strong Unilocal reviews and a «Yelp likes us» sticker in the window. But, seriously, the Squeaky cobb salad is not all *that* good. Next time I’ll try the competition.

Have worked across the street for a few years and have often visited… Love love love their Broccoli, Cheese Soup but I feel they never have it enough. Its very garlicky & different… They have great Sandwiches(HUGE) a little pricey but def more than enough for a lunch with some leftovers. Its a little place but there are some tables & Window Bench seats if you prefer to hang in. They try new things and new combos which is great to see… Love the staff, they are always soo friendly & accomodating… AAANNNDDD They have Orangina(my all time fave)… Just wish I wasnt breaking the bank for lunch when I go every time!

Good sandwiches, but they serve on plastic plates :(it’s 2015. Businesses need to step up and take care of the environment. — Update: the owner claims that biodegradable plates are too expensive. well, paper plates are fully biodegradable and are much cheaper than plastic! I pointed this out to him, but so far, no response :(

What’s not to like about a place named The Squeaky Beaker at MIT? This is the type of place I would like to visit again to learn more about the menu. I have a very good sandwich but would love to go back and try more.

A stone’s throw away from work, I really wanted to like you Squeaky Beaker. But the higher you go, the further you have to fall. I walked into a chaotic scene with groups of people clustered about and no clear sign of where the line to the counter began. I managed to find my way to the line and when I was next to the counter, one of the girls nods me over and then proceeds to cut me off mid-order. As she backs away from the counter, she shouts for the other girl to retake my order. What was the urgency? She apparently had to bag a sandwich and couldn’t waste a precious second. I watched staff treat other customers with a similar attitude for the next ten minutes while I waited for my sandwich, at times with the added bonus of an eye roll. I overheard a woman say that the roast beef sandwich was their claim to fame so went with that. I had doubts when I watched one of the employees on the line take the meat up to her nose for a sniff, but the roast beef, peppers, horseradish, and greens sandwiched between two thick slices of white bread was indeed tasty and a half sandwich left me full and satisfied. I wasn’t a big fan of the thick slices of bread, but can see how they would aid in the quest to keep things from turning soggy. Though better than the standard BLT and chicken salad sandwiches that we find at the corner deli, poor service and simple sandwiches don’t trigger a burning desire for me to return.

Great spot for sandwiches — and the lunch crowd shows! This spot is packed at lunch, but the line moves quite quickly. Sandwiches are made fresh — you can watch them being made — and the specials are, well, special. Today’s special was crispy(fried) pork, which included melted cheddar, cabbage, and honey mayo on a sub roll($ 10.95). Delicious. It seems like not a lot of people stay to eat here — probably because of the crowds — but the vibe is friendly, and the menu is solid. Check out the beakers on some of the counters.

I’ve ordered here twice, once for lunch and once for breakfast and I was VERY happy both times. For breakfast, these are people who understand that bacon should be crispy(not burned) and that fried eggs need a runny yolk. Delicious. The bread is awesome too, and while I’m a fan of the whole wheat, the rye and pumpernickel options are also really good. A good plate of eggs and bacon becomes great when you’re sopping up the yolk with a really nice piece of buttered toast. On the note, just… try the baked goods. Their oatmeal raisin cookies are insane, kind of a dense-yet-light and crisp style that tastes amazing. The ginger-molasses cookie was surprisingly huge, and just tastes awesome… like ginger bread. The other major draw here(other than the salads, which I haven’t yet tried) beyond the baked goods and breakfast, are the sandwiches… and they are awesome. They have a really good build-your-own option, and with those excellent breads it’s worth it. I got the Reuben, and it’s a genuinely good version of the classic sandwich. Once again, the quality bread just brings it all home, but that’s not to say that the meats and cheese aren’t good too… the bread is just that good. I don’t know how I hadn’t found this place until now, but I’ll keep coming back for breakfast, a sandwich, or a cookie. If you’re looking for a simple breakfast, a good sandwich, or a truly exceptional cookie… this is a good choice.

Ordered the special today… An 11 $ plain white bread(Pullman?)((sandwich photo included above.)) Turkey deli meat sandwich. The most unimpressive food in the area. I could have gone to the mall or a gas station and gotten something as good for less money. The two other places within eye shot cost relative and you get value and quality for your money. I work in the area and have been to nearly every eatery around many times. I have always avoided the«squeaky» just because of the tacky name near Genzyme and M.I.T. You are not clever. Today I decided to go and got laughed at upon my return, with this sub par sandwich by my colleagues. At least they were able to decide never to go based on this one sad little sandwich… Ahhhhhh the special. P.s if you are going to put romaine on a sandwich you have to cut the rib out first.

Decent grilled Reuben sandwich. For the quality I would expect their price to be a bit cheaper.

This place is very cute, perfect name for Kendall Square. Got a gluten free reuben given the rave reviews, it was very good. First time I got a really small slice that got soggy super fast. Second time I was there I had a bigger slice that held up for longer. I really appreciate the gluten free options, soup selection usually has vegan and gluten free options and have been something I enjoyed more than the sandwich. The place is small and gets very crowded. coming just 10min before noon helps, but then is hard to get out of. I found the price a bit high given how small my gluten free sandwich was & given that I’m a student. I wound up needing to ear something else in 2 – 3 hours. My friend got a Cobb salad and found it very fresh. Tea/coffee is self serve on the side(they didn’t tell us right away) Service has always been friendly.

If you are looking for a decent sandwich that sits well and is easy on the pocket book, look no further. I can’t judge the more meaty options as I opted for the Vegetarian sandwich that was tasty but leaving a lot to be desired. Service seemed a little rude but maybe the registrar was tired. Would come back for an occasional weekly lunch staple.

Came here for lunch, based on other positive reviews. The cashier was friendly. I was able to modify the chicken melt to what I wanted pretty easily and I love being able to add sprouts to my sandwich! Sandwich was huge and tasty but i think it could use more veggies, especially more avocado. The chicken was so thick that it almost overwhelmed the rest of the sandwich. Cream of tomato soup was yummy though a bit pricey for a small(4 bucks). Quick service, lunch hour seemed busy but not overwhelmed and noisy.

The Squeaky Beaker is a great addition to Kendall Square. Although it serves sandwiches like many other restaurants in the area, they do it way better. Sorry Cosi and ABP, I’m taking my business here. The Rachel is top notch. You’re able to customize your sandwiches as well. Their lunch line is pretty long, so I either go early before noon or later after 1pm to avoid the rush. Great spot!

Updated review! Had a delicious gluten free Reuben sandwich from squeaky beaker today. Just the right amount of russian dressing and a generous portion of meat. The gluten free bread was a little soggy by the time I got back to my office, but the flavors were still delicious.

Best curry chicken salad. Best. I hate chicken salad. I think it’s gross normally — BUT I eat this chicken salad at least once a week.
