Great haircut, excellent experience. So glad I finally found someone to replace my irreplaceable stylist (who moved away). Go to Miranda, her haircut is a-​mazing! If you are looking for a quality stylist, this is the place to find it!

I’m a bit late with my review, but let me say, this is hands down, the best salon I’ve ever been to in the Boston/​Cambridge area. I’ve always wanted to try something bold, and decided I wanted to do a partial unicorn hair dye (blue, purple, pink, turquoise). I’ve only colored my hair one other time, but natural looking highlights. Nothing like this before. It was a two day process. One day for the cut, one day for the color. The color took a couple hours, but I felt so well taken care of. My stylist, Miranda, made sure to talk me through the steps, so that I wouldn’t be worried at any point. When she dried my hair for the final time, she kept me from seeing myself, because we decided it should be a surprise. When I was finally turned around, oh. My. Goodness. I had never been so impressed. She did a Balayage technique so it was super subtle, but when I moved my hair around, you’d see these intense colors. Almost a month later and the colors are still going strong. I’m thinking of getting them touched up again actually! I’m so in love with this look, and I’m so happy I decided to do this. If you’re looking for unicorn hair, or sunset hair, or any other kind of crazy colored hair, GO HERE!!! Thank you again Miranda and Michael Dominic for making my unicorn dream come true!!! I couldn’t be happier.

I am inactive on Unilocal and rarely write reviews, but the sheer beauty of the experience I had with Salon Michael Domenic warranted a review.
For me a haircut is rarely a gradual need that gets planned accordingly; it’s often a sudden urge that becomes a psychological emergency. Michael somehow managed to squeeze me in for a haircut despite the insanely last minute phone call! I was thrilled.
The haircut was with Miranda, who I find not only charming, genuine, and friendly, but most importantly, gifted in her art. I say this because as a person who had lived in Korea, New York, and Germany, I got to experience a fair share of hair stylists from the world’s major cities. And yet Miranda gave me the kind of haircut that I found memorable, both in how much I like the haircut in the end, and in the process leading to it. I find visiting an expert for a service is itself a ritual and an experience you expect and hope to enjoy as a whole. And in Miranda’s case, she not only was a great listener to what I had to say about my expectations, but she was also an effective communicator of her intentions. After her masterful cut, she does not announce that the cut is «done.» She asks you, instead, and offers additional dry cuts to ensure the minute details of the fringes around your face flatter you.
Michael was so upbeat, happy, and energetic, which only added to my experience. If a place is owned by a man who is so happy to be there, it is highly likely you will enjoy being there, as well.
BONUS: Clean, modern space with artworks on the wall. A large glass of wine the moment you are seated. Price is insanely affordable even for grad students like myself, especially for the kind of rigor they have.
I will be coming back.

Ive been going to Marisa for about 4 years now. She is the absolute best!!! Unless its a life or death situation, I refuse to see anyone else. Ive flown home from Atlanta as well as Nashville just to get my hair done by her. I will follow her to any salon she works at. However, I find Salon Michael Domenic to be the best by far. The hair products are amazing and I left there with the softer, shiniest, smoothest hair Ive ever had!!! SIX STARS!!!

I have been getting my hair highlighted and cut with Marisa for about 5 years now. I had previously tried out another salon in Cambridge and left in tears when the hairdresser gave me bangs that were about an inch long and burnt my skin on my forehead from the blow dryer.
Marisa is an extremely talented colorist who previously worked at high end salons on Newberry St. in Boston. She is flexible and gives great advice, but will listen to what you really want to ensure you are happy with the results. I followed her from her previous salon and don’t know how I could ever get a cut and color from anyone else.

I tried to give this place like, fifteen stars, but Unilocal maxes out at five. I just had the best haircut and color of my life with Miranda. I will definitely be coming back.

Thank goodness I found Miranda and this salon! After moving to Boston a year ago, my hair has been tortured. From fried bleach blonde highlights to bright red hot roots, I really struggled to find a hair stylist I could trust. Miranda has saved my hair from the brink, and I couldn’t be more thankful. Consistently great color and cut, and the salon is super cute too.

I really enjoyed my experience at this salon, from the moment I walked in and all the way through their professional service. Everyone over there is friendly, the interior is very appealing and allows you to relax and calm down while the gifted hairdresser Michael, who is also the owner of this place, does his magic. He did his job very accurately, just like in my imagination when I was trying to come up with the perfect haircut idea.
Michael’s sense of aesthetics is invaluable, and I would therefore recommend this place to anyone for whom little details like visual environment, quality communication, and masterful performance of the hairdresser’s skill are important.
Five stars, and I look forward to coming to this place a few more times before I leave Cambridge for good.

I was devastated when I found out my favorite person in the world Miranda had left Maria ferry salon because in the 6 years I’ve lived in Boston she’s the only one I’ll let touch my hair. So when I found out that she moved here I was thrilled. I was greeted at the door to this beautiful salon with a glass of wine and the owner sweeping the floor! Needless to say I was impressed. And of course Miranda gave me another flawless haircut. Cannot say enough good things about this young ladies talent.

Followed Miranda to this salon from her previous location. I am so picky about my hair, I usually have the hardest time finding a hairdresser that I feel consistently comfortable with. That being said, I would have followed Miranda anywhere! She really listens, and I always leave loving my hair. She also cuts my husband’s hair, and does a fabulous job! This salon is very beautiful and luxurious, and they offer lattes and drinks which is a really nice touch.

This salon is a bit of heaven in a surprising location. Michael is without a doubt the best stylist I have ever been to! His understanding of color and keratin treatments help give me a very natural look, My cut is fabulous and his patience in teaching me how to blow dry it myself is refreshing.
The warmth that you feel in this salon is a bonus! Well worth the trip from Brookline

Followed my hair stylist, Marisa, from her previous location here. I’ve been with her for two years after hop scotching around for many years for the right stylist that understands me, my hair, and have the skills to help me manage it. I always go in not knowing what I want but after a short conversation, Marisa always knows what to do. The place is beautiful and convenient. The people are fun, talented, and so sweet. I couldn’t ask for more at a hair salon.

Michael Domenic is by far the best colorist and stylist I’ve ever had and I’ve been through many! I’ve been having Michael do my hair for over 3 years and no one knows my hair is dyed! It’s always done so professionally and natural. Let me not to forget his blow drying techniques, he’s a master! I wish he could blow dry my hair every morning.
He first worked on Newbury St and when he moved into Cambridge I found him at Salon Bellimissa. He has now opened his own place right on Cambridge St near Inman Sq! It’s such a great location, friendly and fun and so white and clean. Michael has been listening to my stories for years and always makes me feel special when I arrive. They are serving coffee, tea, lattes and espresso to their valued customers. This is my salon for life, I highly recommend Salon Michael Domenic.
