Let me save you some time: steak & cheese with onions, mushrooms, and hot peppers. Done. Best philly cheese ever. Come early to beat the lunch rush.

I was pleasantly surprised at this sandwich counter in my neighborhood which I had walked by for such a long time before stopping in. They do a deservedly brisk lunch business. I’ve learned to go on the early side of lunch to avoid the crowd which is an eclectic mix of construction workers and biotech geeks. The sandwiches are skillfully made. A large is usually enough for two lunches for me. Items on the shelves are the usually slightly higher price one finds in a convenience store.

I go in here all the time for sandwiches and snacks. The folks who run the place are great, the prices are very, very reasonable, and I’ve never had any trouble finding parking. However, if you’re looking for some high end cuisine, this ain’t it. If what you want is a really good local shop that makes excellent sandwiches for lunch, this is the place.

One of the best places to stop in for a hot sandwich in the Kendall/MIT area. Pastrami sandwiches are amazing!

Simple and delicious subs. One of the best lunch spots in the near-MIT campus area might be a deli inside of an unassuming convenience store. They make simple and classic subs and they make them well. Fluffy and fresh bread, good quality cold cuts and meat. There is a $ 10 minimum for credit cards and a $ 5 minimum for debit cards. You can buy large or small sized subs. The large ones come up to around $ 8. The buffalo chicken sandwich will be a jolt of flavor to your taste buds. The New Yorker grilled pastrami sub was great as well. I look forward to trying more.

Stopped in for lunch after reading all the good reviews. This place did not disappoint. My Italian sub was amazing and the bread was to die for. If you’re after a good sub from a no frills store, look no further. I will be a regular.

If you are looking for a classic sandwich, this is the place to go! I got a small Dublin for 6.99(large is 7.99) and it was delicious! Went during the week and there was a 5 – 10 minute line. Sandwiches don’t come out particularly fast, especially if you get a hot one, but it’s not too bad. A table and some chairs in the back also to sit and eat.

Been coming here since age 10 and the prices and quality of food hasn’t changed much. Amazing food and one of my favorite Deli’s in Mass

I frequent this little joint throughout the week because I work just down the street and it’s super convenient. They scramble up some custom omelets for me in the morning, the steak and cheese and meatball subs are tasty, and they are consistently polite and friendly. Nice little corner store and if you call ahead, you can avoid the line at lunchtime and be on your way.

Best buffalo chicken sandwich. It was so delicious. Extremely messy, but the messier the Buffalo Chicken sandwich, the better. It looks modest from the outside, but they have a fantastic sandwich selection for lunch. Definitely take advantage of it if you can. Prices are very reasonable for the area. Less than 9 bucks for all sandwiches.

It’s ok if your looking for a cheap bite to fill the void. I got the chicken cutlet and all it is is a cheap chicken patty. I don’t know why this place has so many stars. They are nice and friendly there with great customer service and very fast with your order, but they just don’t use the best ingredients or have anything fantastic there to rave about. Just your average corner convenience store with a kitchen.

Eh. I had a reuben; it was certainly better than average, but it wasn’t special. Maybe should have gone with the roast beef.

Looking for a good sub shop near my work a couple years ago, I found Newtowne on Unilocal and thought I’d give it a try. Since then it has become a staple of my lunch group! At first glance, the location could be mistaken for a cheap convenience store. It contains minimal seating, if you can even find it tucked away in the corner. We look past this because the to-go sandwiches are killer! I originally came for the steak bomb, as suggested on Unilocal, and it was very good. I’ve since tried nearly all the filling ~$ 8 special subs on the menu(don’t bother with a small btw). The coworkers typically go for the buffalo chicken, which contains plenty of spicy sauce and bleu cheese. I opt for the santa fe turkey, which has bacon, veggies and a nice spicy kick in the mustard(be sure to get extra on the side). The similar chicken sandwich with horse radish and the chicken wrap were also tasty and good values(again, get extra sauce). If you make the trip, know that a size-able line can form during lunch hour. A cold sub, though, will come out very quickly, though, as most people must wait for the freshly grilled hot orders. Needless to say, I highly recommend!

Best. Sandwiches. In Boston. Or Cambridge, I guess. I dream about hitting up the Deli for lunch every morning, and every time it delivers. They serve up monstrous sandwiches packed with meat and veggies and flavor, and it’s just insane. If you’re anywhere nearby when they’re open, stop in and grab a sandwich for yourself, you won’t regret it. Large sandwiches round out to around $ 8.25 or so, and you definitely get some bang for your buck. Best sandwiches: New Yorker(Pastrami, like 5 lbs of it. Incredible), Cambridgeport, Buffalo Chicken, Corned Beef Heater, basically every sandwich is amazing. Cons: Not a lot of vegetarian options, but it’s a deli, so that’s understandable. Just go here. You’ll thank yourself.

Stopped in here for a pre work lunch recently after finding it on Unilocal and seeing all the fantastic reviews! Was in the mood for a steak, cheese and mushroom and was not disappointed. Got a spot right out front, went in and ordered my sandwich, 10 minutes later I was chowing on a very tasty, cheesy, steak sandwich. Bread was fantastic, filled up nicely with plenty of meat. I will definitely be returning to try some of the other offerings.

The corner store alone is pretty solid. It’s got all of the essentials – milk, bread, butter, eggs, etc. – that you might need and it’s all reasonably priced. The real difference-maker is the deli. These cats know their way around a sandwich. I’ve eaten their subs, their specialty sandwiches, and even some of their«we’re bored on a Friday afternoon, let’s try something different» creations and they’ve all been amazing. They’re a simple, no-frills kind of deli and that’s just the way I like it. They make an amazing steak and cheese and their turkey stuffer is pretty much one of the greatest things to ever happen to Thanksgiving dinner. They’ve got a chicken cheese steak on the menu which is absolutely dynamite. Give ‘em a whirl, you won’t be disappointed.
