They don’t even deserve one. The bouncer turned my friend away because she was ‘whiter’ than her ID picture which she took in California when she was tanned. Seriously ?? We brought proof, including a credit card and an article with a picture of her and her name and her age. I’m sorry I understand that they have to be strict but they wouldn’t even listen to us. This is not the way to run a business.

While the food is tasty, this place cannot get thir stuff together. Every time I order from their website. the lose the order,(even if I call and verify it came in). I show up 30 min later. and they still don’t have it, need to show them the online reciept, and wait to get my food. Seriously. Even when I call and verify they have the order. Maybe its the fact they are running a tacky nightclub, that might make them not able to know what is going on at any point.

This place has great variety. If you’re looking for authenticity, go elsewhere, but for tasty asian fusion, I recommend it. I particularly appreciate the inventive vegetarian option like the sweet potato tempura and eggplant buns.

Food: 5 Stars I have been a regular customer here for about a year. I love the«pan-Asian» tapas here. If I’m feeling Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, etc, this was the place to go. My favorites, and what I always got, were the crab rangoons, sweet potato tempura, tuna dumplings, Moksa roll, volcano roll, and R&R roll. It’s a good way to try a little bit of everything, without huge portions. Drinks: 5 Stars If Tim or T are in the bar, you definitely want to request a customized drink from them! Tell them what you like and you will get a desired, good drink. Best bartenders, by far. Ambiance: 4 Stars The bar is beautiful here. The lights are really pretty and the music is always upbeat. I’d recommend this place to young foodies. Service: 5 Stars Staff is always friendly here. The workers clearly get along and have a fun time while working together. As an observant server, they have a great system going on. Servers, bussers, and the bartenders seem to always communicate and help each other out. Management: What the hell happened? When I say that I am a regular customer, I mean that I am here atleast once a week or every two weeks. I have met Sam and Renaldo multiple times and they have been awesome! I have brought my friends here for birthdays, celebrations, etc. Great service from Sam and Renato. The last time I was here(probably the last time I’ll ever go there) was last Friday. There was a new manager(I assume) that was terrible. He seemed very bipolar. He scolded the servers and runners, seemed very touchy towards the girl at the front, and made ignorant comments. I felt bad. I took my friend from out of town here for dinner and we were both disgusted. What kind of manager makes such awful comments INPUBLIC and thinks it’s okay to feel up his workers? Jesus, I was not surprised to see unfamiliar faces for staff. No one wants to deal with that shit. Get out of there! If you’re going to get food, just get take out. It’s not worth sitting through that experience.

I had gone out with a friend for drinks after work and should have thought twice before stopping at moksa. The outdoor patio is great, and Cambridge definitley needs more of these. However, the drinks are very OK, and way overpriced(for what you get). Overall the best part of my experience was later, while looking over my bank statement and seeing that I was OVERCHARGED by a few dollars on the tip I left!!! For one lousy cocktail, this should not have happened. Not even going to get into the unprofessional nature of the waitstaff here. I think I’ll be spending my summer nights somewhere with a little more class.

The food wasn’t terrible, but unfortunately the service overshadowed the actual meal. We waited about an hour to be able to order food. One person in our party waited 40 minutes for green tea(despite reminding the server several times.) One of the water glasses had lipstick on it, and another person in our party waited about 40 minutes for a clean glass. The long waits for service were blamed on a busy night despite the clear lack of customers in the restaurant. The orders were mixed up and served randomly combined with other rolls ordered at the same table. And to top it off, they auto charged 20% gratuity for a party of only five people. I definitely won’t be returning, and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone else.

Never had a more frustrating lunch experience. Service was absolutely terrible. They messed up my order several times and it took 45 minutes to get a maki roll. Also, stay away from the lunch buffet. It’s advertised as a sushi buffet but all you get are soggy deep fried pieces of chicken, boiled vegetables and a some pasta. Literally no fish. I wouldn’t eat here again unless there was a nuclear apocalypse and this was the last source of food on the planet.

The food was decent but the bartender, Tim, was rude and abrasive to his customers. I definitely will not return nor recommend my friends to frequent Moksa. Tim actually told us, his customers, to not come back. Wish granted, Tim.

They scored some props from me on my March visit when I was hoping to redeem my Groupon voucher for take-out at Moksa before the promotional value expired. When I arrived, I found that they were having a private event and the kitchen wasn’t going to open till much later. I inquired as to whether they could therefore consider pushing back the expiration date of my voucher. But instead, they decided that they could take my order immediately. Vegetarian Pad Thai $ 10.00 peanuts, bean sprouts, lime(gf) ~ The veggies were basically broccoli and pea pods, both a bit overcooked. The dish was a less sweet, more dry version, so it was good, but not my favorite iteration of the quintessential Thai noodle dish. Lemongrass Curry Duck $ 15.00 Half crisp duck, red & yellow peppers, onions, basil ~ Per my request, the sauce was served on the side. Seems the mentioned veggies come in the sauce, while the duck was plated with some broccoli and sliced tomato and cucumber. The duck was meaty, but inconveniently only partially chopped. The sauce was tasty but had some heat. The food wasn’t great but it did the job. And a big thanks to the fellow guarding the door for letting me in and presenting my case to the attention of the staff! *** 4⁄2015 take-out *** So this time my take-out order was taken by one of the servers, which was fine. What was a bit less fine was that because that server was busy with her table, and then with cleaning up somethings at the waiter’s station, my bag sat there for a bit before it was noticed and brought out to me. No other waiter who visited the waiter’s station in the interim cared since it wasn’t their responsibility. The Avocado Salad $ 7.00 Avocado, crab stick, cucumber, tobiko was topped with a layer of potato chips. But once I swept some aside I could see the chunks of avocado mixed with the julienned cucumber and shredded surimi. The salad was fresh and tasty, but as it was lifted by a hearty lettuce leaf, the portion wasn’t quite as generous as I had initially anticipated at first sight. *** 12⁄2015 lounge Happy Hour visit *** Moksa’s website needs to catch up with their menu in real time. They still offer Happy Hour specials weeknights 5pm — 7pm, however the tempting $ 2 options have been sliced and diced down to just a single baby back rib. Yup, no more chicken lettuce cup and pork belly bun that I was so hoping to try. The Baos are now only offered in combo with a drink — 2 baos with a beer for $ 6. I liked my bartender though, as she was nice and sympathetic and friendly. She let me swap out the $ 5 minimumlypriced beer for a $ 4 sparkling lemonade, so I ordered up a pair of bao, 2 veggie gyozas for a buck, and a chicken yakitori and beef teriyaki for a dollar apiece. The gyozas were nicely fried, thin skinned creations sitting in some kind of red sauce. The filling was a bit soft to my taste, however, so perhaps I’ll try the pork version next time. The meat sticks were acceptably portioned, and not too tough, but weren’t strongly marinaded. They were okay, but not something I’d run back for. Actually, that seemed characteristic of the entire visit. Both baos were made with nice soft steamed buns and fresh vegetables, however the meat were rather tough — both the pork belly with its visible fat and the chunks of pulled beef. The beef bao was also a bit spicy, which I had not been expecting. But for a $ 9 meal(pre-tax/tip) just to fill the belly, not bad. Current Happy Hour offerings: $ 1 for 2 pieces: pork gyoza, veggie gyoza, shrimp shumai $ 1 for 1 piece: veggie spring roll, tuna dumpling, vindaloo wings, chicken yakitori, beef teriyaki $ 2 for 1 piece: baby back ribs

Came here on an Amazon Local deal for dinner, but if I didn’t, the food would be grossly overpriced. Can’t speak to the drinks, but do not come here to get food. We didn’t order any sushi because one of my friends had gotten sick from it before. The duck dishes(duck curry and duck roll) we got were both pretty good, but everything else was meh or bad(i.e. shrimp shumai was awful, it was a weird spongy texture). The service was noticeably bad. I had made reservations for 5, yet only 4 places were set… so I had no plate or utensils. After asking the servers for a plate and waiting 5 – 10 min, I had to grab one on the table over. Service was also really slow(we waited 20 min for our last plate), even though 4 people were waiting on us. It was mind boggling. Probably the worst service I’ve ever experienced in the U.S.

I have come here twice: once for a date and once for a sponsored event. Both times, I deeply regretted it. The food is subpar and overpriced. The drinks are poorly made, watered down, and also overpriced. The service is abysmal — rude, unhelpful, and slowwwwww. If you want sushi, walk down the street to Thelonious. If you want a party, head to Phoenix Landing. If you want a mix, go to Cuchi Cuchi. Just flee here as fast as you can.

Just blah, from start to finish. Our server was either incredibly slow or incredibly high which made this experience very annoying. There were 3 of us and he could not remember 3 drink orders, then he forgot to put in half of our food. Because of this nothing was served in a timely manner. Drinks were quite good, and sushi was not the worst i have ever had by a long shot, but because of our serve this experience was really sub-par for me. Also, «one» of their heaters broke and our first table was freezing(why they were even seating people in this sectionis beyond me) and when we told our server about it and asked to be moved, he moved us to another corner of the room experiencing the same problem, which he laughed and said he knew about. Strange. We ended up staying at this second table and eating with our winter coats on. Not the most comfortable meal :(

This place is super cool. The food we ordered were amazing! I don’t know what the other Unilocalers are saying but all the waiters are friendly and attentive. Definitely will come back on another date night! :)

Meh. Sushi is mediocre at best. Got a few different types, only one was alright. I’d stick with the classic roles, specialty roles aren’t worth it, no flavor truly. Also, beware of the number of pieces the sushi contains, some are 4pc 6pc 5pc, unmarked. No dessert on the menu, but if asked about it, they have fried ice cream. Green tea and red bean flavor. Mildly sketchy, should have known not to get it if it’s not even advertised. Ambiance and music was cool though, I’d maybe come back for the events they seem to hold there, no cover, techno. Nice bartender as well.

This place looks nice-ish, but the food, service, and ambience leave much to be desired. Food — 1 star — they call their cuisine«pan-Asian tapas» so we decided to try a sampler of small plates. The egg roll, crab Rangoon, and shrimp tempura were clearly pre-made frozen dishes that they only fried to order. The wings, ribs, and satays were ok but not authentic(although we weren’t expecting that). We also got 2 sushi rolls — a specialty roll and what we assumed would be a safe bet, spicy yellowtail. The fish did not taste fresh and we didn’t even finish it. Service — 2 stars — our waiter was kind and clearly wanted to please but it didn’t seem like anyone working had much experience, or maybe it was just a bad system. We were served quickly but no one checked on us for almost 30 minutes at one point despite having empty glasses and plates for most of that time. Ambience — 1 star — is this place a club, sports bar, restaurant? I know it turns into a club late night, but when we were there at 7 on a weeknight the club music was already on and the whole place has a clubby vibe like it’s trying to be a W lobby but failing. Except that there are also TVs around the bar like a sports bar. And it serves food, but, you know, see above. It seems like this place is trying to please everyone but managing to please no one(or at least not me). Won’t be coming back here again.

I bought a living social deal and thought I’d give it a shot to try out this tapas place despite it’s 3 star ratings. As I entered the place, the restaurant had a nightlife/club feel to it. You can definitely bring someone here on a date since the dim lighting builds this romantic setting. Apparently, this place turns into a night club on the weekends and they host events for local colleges on weeknights according to the waiter. Since no events were happening during that evening, the restaurant was not very loud at all and it was not super busy either. Also, I would totally check out their events on a Saturday night if I am around. The menu contains a large variety of sushi platters and asian-inspired tapas. I opted out on the sushi because I wanted to try something different and unique, something mind-blowing and maybe their signature dish perhaps. We ended up deciding on 5 tapas: the eggplant buns to start off, ribs, roti, thai fried rice w/chicken and the duck rolls. The service was pretty good and it probably took us about 10 – 15 mins to get our food out. As the food came out, I was surprised by the large portions. I’ve been to other tapa restaurants before and boy, were we defeated by the end of the night! I think we ordered too much to be honest. As for recommendations, I would go for the ribs, the roti, and the duck rolls! My friend commented on the duck rolls and thought it tasted like a «California roll» but I thought it was delicious and the presentation was creative. Random note, check out their bathrooms… spotless, white, and futuristic! I would definitely go back!

My boyfriend and I went here for date night and had a great time! The ambience is great, everyone looks good in that lighting lol décor is also cute and trendy. We ordered a few things: Roti canai: very very well done, best dish of the night. Just so light but crispy and flaky, taste was on par! Vindaloo wings– I was afraid this would be too spicy for me but it was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of kick. I think this was my boyfriends favorite dish of the night! Miso soup– cause I wanted something warm and soothing and this did just that! Only gripe would be it had a little too many mushrooms in there, made it hard for me to scoop the soup Sushi– I can’t recall what we ordered in particular since it was a couple months ago but I remember thinking it was decent And chicken skewer– sorry I forgot what it’s officially called. But anyways the taste was good, no complaints but also no rave about it We also got cocktails, they have some pretty unique selections. I’m more of a mojito, sangria kinda girl so the options weren’t doing it for me. I would give them credit for creativity definitely but taste wise they weren’t my favorite The service was a tad bit slow though. Luckily we weren’t in a rush to get anywhere afterwards so it wasn’t that bothersome. I can imagine how it could pose an issue for other instances though. At the end we filled out a review and they gave up coupons for our next visit, which won my boyfriend over cause he wants to go back haha we probably will, I’ll be craving the wings and roti canai soon enough

Came here as part of my quest to find the best ramen in Boston. conclusion? Not here. Settled on the shoyu ramen. Nothing extraordinary about it. Soup was simple like from a packet. Toppings of fish cake were there for filler and rather tasteless. Pork was ok but no developed flavor. The restaurant itself had a nice vibe and energy and the staff was cool, only complaint would be my bartender who was busy serving his friends endless drinks. Maybe their other food is worth coming for, but not the ramen.

Wow. I can’t even believe the experience we just had here. I’d been here several times for drinks and dinner. I really liked it and considered it a fun and unique place for special occasions. Tonight threw that right out the window. We went to celebrate our VERY(two days) recent engagement with our best friends – this place had sentimental value to our relationship and our friendship. As soon as we sat down, one of my friends told the server the whole story and the exciting news. We weren’t expecting any special treatment, but we definitely weren’t expecting what we got. We were seated at 6:30. I’d seen a flyer on Unilocal for the special all-you-can-eat sushi event going on today( ), and we’d all decided to have that rather than order a la carte. I literally had to argue with our server and show him the flyer on my phone before he would agree to serve us that option. Our appetizers came out before our bottle of champagne – so much so that we had finished them all by the time the champagne arrived. We got our first plate of sushi and then had to wait 45 minutes before a different server came over(no explanation) to take our plates away and our next order. By now it was 7:45, and the deal ended at 8. So, in true Homer Simpson fashion, I did not have all I could eat as promised. Our water carafe was brought to our table at the beginning of the meal and never refilled. Come on! The service was disappointing to a frustrating degree – this would have been the case on any night, but it was doubly so because we came here to celebrate a very special event in our lives and were treated so poorly. It was completely unreasonable. On the way out, they gave us $ 10 off coupons for the next time we come in. Right. As if there is going to be a next time.

Came here for Scoville Dining Society event and it was supposed to get spicier as the night went on but it didn’t. It was still good food though. We started with the Snap Dragon(tequila drink) made spicier which was a real kick to get going. Good drink though. It was paired with Aloo Tikki, served with a spicier sauce than usual which was delicious. Next was a tequila drink with a charred orange slice inside. I choked a bit on the char coming off. It was paired with tea steamed buns with pork inside. I’m vegetarian so I got vegetables instead and the sauce was good, reminded me of Korean food. The bun was quite boring so I didn’t eat it. Last was a gin and tonic with miso paste which wasn’t spicy and was amazingly delicious. This was supposed to be a palate cleanser drink and it did a great job. After was ramen miso soup which I thought was standard spicy but still delicious. Again, I got mine without pork. They used the thin mushrooms which I don’t like but oh well. The broth was good. They gave us free beer too! Beer is great when you’re eating spicy food, forgot about that!
