We got drinks at the bar the bartender was funny and helpful I hope to go back soon!

What a disappointment. Haven’t been in years and was expecting the old Green St. Maybe the chef was off for the night? Food not good at all, totally bummed. Drinks good, beer good. No desire to go back. Was looking for a change in scenery but will stick with usual go to places in Brookline.

Went here on whim and was not disappointed. We had the house charcuterie for starters and it was great. The specialty drinks were great also. I had a whiskey/apple cider drink and my date had a Manhattan. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. For our entrees, I had the macaroni and cheese which was a very large helping. My date had the monkfish. He enjoyed it.

New favorite place. We had the coolest server who helped navigate the lengthy cocktail list — all the drinks we ordered were delicious. For food we had the roasted chicken entrée, which was perfectly done and flavorful, also the cheese plate and arugula salad, with bread pudding for dessert. Everything was so good, plus the nice service and overall festive vibe, will def. be back soon.

Very good spot. Somewhat limited food menu, but still good options for most people. Nice beer selection and reasonably priced. The food is a bit overpriced for the quality, inventiveness, and portions, but worth checking out at least once. Yucca fries are pretty good. Try the roasted chicken and calm bake.

The noise level was painful, and the food was mediocre. The shrimp and lobster in the crab boil were overcooked, and the dish was wallowing in butter but lacking in flavor.

Great place for dinner before the Havana club. Also good place for drinks after.

I went there expecting scallops and other food, but they changed the menu they day before I visited. It was disappointing. I tried A burger and mushroom cannelloni. Stout of the day, drought of the day. Food was okay. Beer was great.

Green Street is where you go for excellent, absurdly well-priced cocktails. I love the cozy neighborhood vibe of the place, and always think of it as being a warm and comforting haven. Also: Tiki drinks. Good ones. And nice staff! The food is good, but I wish the menu were a little different. I don’t feel like Green Street offers a lot of grazing options which is often what I want when I’m there. It would be nice to have more options on the appetizer list, since often the $ 20 – 30 entrée is more than I’m looking for. Recommended.

If you’re taking your first date anywhere in Central Square besides Green Street, you’re making a mistake. I know, Brick and Mortar has the name, the atmosphere, and the prices. But Green Street’s got the sexy-hip tattooed bartenders, the back-alley gem feel and the food. The food, people. Right, I know, food isn’t exactly first date stuff, but how impressed will your date be when you present him/her with a cocktail chock full of spirits neither of you can pronounce next to a plate of expertly arranged tortilla chips? Very impressed. Second date impressed. Their beer selection is great and their bartenders will whip you up a custom cocktail faster than you can finish the Italian course necessary to properly pronounce«fernet-branca». I’ve had only a few dishes, but all of them are really excellent. Their grilled octopus would make A Greek chef weep. Prices match atmosphere, though. So it’s gotta be a promising first date.

For a place that is so hyped up Green Street is pretty average. My date and I made a reservation for a Saturday night, and good thing we did since the restaurant was packed. We were seated right away, and had our drink orders taken quickly. However, service the rest of the night was pretty slow. Our waitress was nowhere to be found when we needed to order more drinks/food, and we really couldn’t get her attention since the place was so busy. The food itself was decent, kind of small portions for the price. The menu is also limited, I’m not a fan of huge menus by any means but I do like more options that just one steak, chicken, or fish dish. The drinks were nothing to write home about either. I had a margarita and it was very average — not horrible but not the best I’ve had by any means. My date got a grapefruit based drink which tasted like pepto bismol. Overall Green Street seems to be hyped up and they continue to succeed on the hype alone. The actual quality of food, drinks, and service is quite average and I don’t believe I’ll be back to visit again.

This place is incoherent. The interior looks like a dive bar, the wall art is from a hipster lounge, and the menu is from a relatively upscale restaurant. I think there must have been some intention behind this combination, but to me it doesn’t really achieve anything. That and the food is less than stellar. I’ve been here twice now, and both times was underwhelmed with the tastiness of my food, especially for the price. My friend even returned her octopus appetizer because it was so tough she couldn’t chew it. The one thing this place does have going for it is a good scene. For whatever reason, a lot of other people like this place, which makes for a lively atmosphere with lots of young hip people. I guess it is cool how it’s unpretentiously tucked into a side street — makes you feel like it’s a secret only known to the cool club. Maybe next time I’ll just come for a drink and skip the food.

I walked by this place for 6 years before going in the other day. It was much cuter inside than outside. Good bar. Good appetizer(carnitas – it was a special and the pineapple salsa was quite good). Decent cosmo. Good beer. Overall, I liked it.

This is probably the closest restaurant to my friend’s house, roughly a 10 minute walk. On Green Street next to the parking garage, it’s very unassuming from the outside. It really doesn’t look like much. However, once you head inside, the place is very visually appealing. Two levels of seating, one brighter and the other dimmer. We sat«upstairs» in the brighter section, and were seated without a wait around 8pm on a Saturday night. The place can get a bit loud, as parties are all seated close together, but I enjoyed the lively atmosphere. As for the food, it was very good! We started with a kale salad that was very nice. I then ordered a big plate of mac and cheese for my main. My main complaint with«fancy» mac and cheese is that places often make it too dry. This was creamy and delicious, and it has a very nice flavor to it. Also, it was just the right amount, not too little or too much!

Nice bar for good food and drinks. We passed with some friends on a Friday night. It was packed and a bit noisy ! The staff were nice and friendly. I had a Margarita, tasty and well presented. The double bacon Burger was good and very rich and tasty. Chips were less interesting though. Would come back to try the lobster plate !

My first thought when I saw the outside of Green St was«I think we came to the wrong place». Don’t let the exterior fool you like it did me. I thought I was walking into a speakeasy. Once inside, I was surprised by how big it actually was. There were two levels(the bottom housed the bar), and we were quickly seated upstairs at a corner table at 6pm on Wed. There were a lot of options for drinks, so we got the Bohemian, Corazon, and, I think, Tin-man(which wasn’t on the menu). The Corazon was almost like juice to me with barely any taste of alcohol. The Bohemian tasted like straight up grapefruit juice from the carton. We got plenty of apps to share — grilled avocado with tuna tartar, calamari, jerk wings, grilled corn cobs, crab cake, and mussels. The apps tasted like apps. They weren’t something I would look forward to again there.

What a cool little gem this is! My husband and I stumbled upon this place during our last trip to the Havana Club(which is literally next store) to go Salsa dancing… and we were pleasantly surprised. We will definitely return the next time we go to Havana. The service was great, the drinks were well crafted and delicious. We did not eat anything, but saw some tasty offerings around us that we would consider trying. It has a speakeasy feel which I love.

If you like drinking, especially drinking cocktails, then this is your place. They have a secret expanded cocktail menu for those who need the extra options, but if you don’t need the giant list of what has to be at least 100 top notch cocktails making your choice even harder, look at what their regular menu is touting– these are great with the current menu selections and the season. The hard part is making sure you don’t drink TOO much! The food is really delicious, as is dessert if you can save room(The crème brûlée with peach ice cream and rhubarb? Heavenly!). Absolutely get the fry of the day(this past Saturday was plantains with an amazing, fresh pineapple salsa). The main dishes are of a generous size, so we either share or end up taking food home, especially as the starters are just too good to pass up(and awesome when treated as tapas for a group!). We had a group of like… 18? on Saturday evening and Green Street was absolutely fabulous to us. Really great service, hilarious waitress that was in a great mood, and of course lots of friends over the two tables. Highly recommend this place for dates both casual and fancier, grabbing a drink(or three) with friends, and big groups! Definitely a place for people that are looking to expand their tastes – nothing basic or drab here. Picky eaters will likely find it hard to please their palate.

Overall a decent place to eat! We arrived at Cambridge around 9pm and this was the only non-pizza place near us opening. Like the building. Low key and classic. The service was okay. I got the half chicken, which was huge and tasty. The mussels were also fresh and yummy! The portion was really generous. Wish I tried the seafood there.

The drink selection here is amazing and very reasonably priced. If you do decide to come here, you must ask for the special A-Z drink menu. Making a decision(or two. or three) will be very hard, but I highly recommend the Parisian Orchid if you like something sweet, but not overbearingly so. Oh, if you are a peanut butter fanatic, the peanut malt flip is a must as well. The place can get pretty crowded and the bar area is a pretty tight squeeze, so keep that in mind when visiting. However, if you are going with a smaller group or on a date, this place is great for that.

I can’t speak for the food, but damnnn they’ve got one amazing cocktail menu — lots of choices to pick from here! You’ll have to physically go to check out the complete menu since the one listed on the website is probably not even ¼ of the whole thing. And not only are the drinks relatively cheap, but a good number of them are pretty inventive with ingredients you don’t usually(if ever) see in drinks, like maple syrup, molasses, peanut butter, applejack, and egg whites. Between the three of us we had eight drinks, each of which was different from the others and delicious. Seriously, half the fun is perusing the menu. The bar area was incredibly crowded on a Friday evening, which completely blindsided me since Green Street, the actual street, looked completely deserted and barren. But it’s really bustling inside! The bartenders are such sweethearts too, which is definitely not how I would’ve described them when I walked in, because they all looked so intimidating and bouncer-y. Ours in particular really strongly resembled a ferocious lumberjack, but he was gruffly endearing and caring to everyone he served. Also, quote of the night happened when my friends and I ordered a third round — «Round 3?! You ladies drink like 80 year old men, and I mean that in the best way.» Definitely worth visiting!
