I finally found the Area Four café/​kiosk thing that opened last year in the first floor of the Athenaeum building. Coffee: great, espresso drinks: great, and a small selection of A4 baked goods: scones, cookies, croissants, etc. The scone I had was really good.
The location is weird if you don’t work in the building. It’s closest to the entrance on Linskey Way, but you’ll see it if you approach from the 215 First St. main entrance and walk up into the main area.
