The older man who runs (owns?) this business is hard to understand on the phone because of a speech impediment, but don’t let that stop you from going in. He’s very nice, very helpful and has some great nursery stock at unbelievable prices– way lower than the in-​town nurseries. If you can find what you need here, you’ll save a bundle on some very nice plants. Got some big 5-​gallon vines that weren’t root-​bound, like so many are in the comparatively «slick» in-​town commercial nurseries, and they were therefore easier to transplant. It’s fun to have found an old-​style rural nursery.

I went to Nature’s Best this past weekend to find all of the plants for my new drought tolerant yard. This place was a hidden gem down what I call the «Moorpark Grade», just a few minutes from Thousand Oaks. Saul was very kind and patient with me, showing me the best trees to get for my concept and ideas, and telling me how to care for each of the different plants. The other reviews are spot on — BEST prices that I’ve seen anywhere during my previous jaunts to the local nurseries. I went home with a truckful of two absolutely gorgeous Crape Myrtles and a ton of other drought friendly but colorful plants. I am so so so happy that I found Saul’s place and I will be back when it comes time to do the backyard!

Best prices, very helpful, and nice. I love this nursery. I got two cherry blossoms last year and they have grown over 5′. Very healthy and beautiful, I will continue to shop here. :)

I love this place! Saul is so kind and patient and will help you pick out the best plants for your needs. It’s nice to work with a «mom and pop» nursery instead of going to some rip-​off joint like Armstrong’s where a zit-​faced kid is sneering at you and doesn’t know a hydrangea from his elbow. Plus, his prices are FANTASTIC so you get a REALLY GREAT DEAL AND GREAT SERVICE! What’s not to love about THAT?

In my day, I have done my fair share of landscape design, implementation and maintenance. I also consider myself somewhat knowledgeable about proper selection and placement of plants (regardless of garden type) for landscape use. I have parted with good money at both good and bad nurseries. Nature’s Best is one of a handful of places where I can get a damn good price for healthy product AND get excellent feedback on my plant selection ideas. Saul is a book of plant knowledge and he is ever so patient and enthused about sharing what he knows. Don’t expect frilly hanging baskets and pottery. Nature’s Best is about good plant stock at good prices.

I recently purchased several bushes from a competing nursery, and they didn’t have quite enough, so we went here to get the remaing bushes we needed.
Within two weeks of planting his bushes, they were dead. I called him to se if I could get either a refund, or a replacement. His answer? NO GUARANTEE. I explained to him that the ther bushes we purchased from his competitor were actually thriving. His answer? NO GUARANTEE on plant materials.
I guess there will be NO GUARANTEE that I will not be badmouthing his business
