Please do not go to her! She is absolutely horrible. I waited over 2 hours for my appointment which is just completely unacceptable. I called ahead and they said to come in 30 minutes later than my actual appointment. This was fine with me, but I ended up waiting another 2 hours. I even knew from reading Unilocal reviews that there was a wait, so I thought I would stick it out because maybe she would be worth the wait. Unfortunately I was very very wrong! Once I finally saw the doctor, she was extremely rude, rushed and not sympathetic. It was a horrible traumatizing experience and I urge you to find another OBGYN for the sake of you and your baby!

Do not see Dr. Geer! The first visit went very well and she was very pleasant. My husband and I agreed that Dr. Geer was amazing and we felt like we were in good hands for our first pregnancy. Wow, I was wrong! Her demeanor and bedside manner changed after the first visit. Her tone and approach was harsh and she scolded me when I brought up concerns that I was having. It’s like she expected me to know what concerns are valid and which ones aren’t cause for worry. How am I supposed to know the difference when this is my first pregnancy?
I ended up going on medication to control my high blood pressure and Dr. Geer told me that I was considered to be high risk (she scolded me for bringing up concerns about my digestive issues FYI). I was 19 weeks pregnant at the time she recommended that I be placed on modified work to avoid complications with my pregnancy. She also told me that I could end up on bed rest if my blood pressure didn’t improve. When my work did not approve my modified work request, I asked her if I qualified for disability. She said no!
Keep in mind, there was about a week in between these two visits (the first where she told me to go on modified work and the second to follow up with my questions on disability and what I should do since I couldn’t return to work). By this time, my work already replaced my job with a temporary employee! Dr. Geer told me that I could go back to work and that I shouldn’t worry! I then asked her to clarify since she had just told me the week prior that I was high risk, should restrict my activity, and needed to go on modified work. She looked at me and said, «oh that’s right.» I literally had to remind her of the mess she placed me in. I was all of a sudden out of a job with high blood pressure. Not a good mix.
My blood pressure skyrocketed due to my anxiety and stress over what I was going to do financially. My husband and I had just bought a house earlier in the year and he was concerned with having to support me so soon in the pregnancy. We had been saving since we bought the house, but I was planning on working as long as I could before having the baby so as not to create a financial burden for my husband. I thought about telling my job, but my only option was to take an unpaid leave of absence since Dr. Geer told me that disability was out of the question.
Once I started to ask more questions, get this, she told me that I had to find a new OBGYN! She kept changing her story as to why she was transferring me. First, she said that she had too many deliveries scheduled for the month that I was due (unlikely since she knew my due date from the beginning even before I had my first appointment). Second, she told me that she had a personal issue going on (understandable, but also unlikely of a medical professional to transfer someone… if it was a serious personal concern then she probably would have taken time off work instead of transferring one parient). Third, she told me that she lived too far away from me and that she hardly delivers at the hospital that is closest to where I live. I couldn’t keep track of her nonsense. I completely get that she can have personal issues (I am not a horrible person), but she knew for several weeks what my due date was and what hospital I was going to so it was strange that she was all of a sudden transferring me when she had just placed me into a messy situation with my job.
Why did she wait all those weeks to tell me that I would end up having to find a new OBGYN? I think she was avoiding having to put me on disability or simply did not want a high risk patient. I know it is pretty awful of me to assume, but she always bragged about how smoothly her deliveries went. Since I was high risk, I was probably not going to have a smooth pregnancy. The timing was just too coincidental. I told her that she was being unprofessional for waiting so long to tell me that I had to transfer. Dr. Geer became VERY defensive and lectured me for 30 minutes on how dedicated she is to her patients. It was classic guilty behavior.
It also took her office 3 weeks to release my records to my new OBGYN. Curious to know what my new OBGYN did on my first visit? He placed me on disability and told me that I could go on walks! He told me that I was not going on bed rest anytime soon and that it was good for me to do very light activity. He told me that I could easily avoid bed rest by following his instructions. Do not see Dr. Geer!!!
I do not rejoice in calling her out on her unprofessionalism. She has feelings and I know she can read this review, but I also want to warn other women. Our health is important and it is crucial to do your homework when you are selecting a doctor. I hope this helps. Good luck and feel free to message me if you have any questions.

I went to her office for an annual pelvic exam. After waiting for quite a while, I was brought into a room and given a small paper gown. I am a larger woman and the gown did not remotely fit. The nurse came in to check on me and I asked if I could use the bathroom. She said that it was located outside of the actual office and down the hall. Needless to say, I was surprised and not about to go in the building hallway half dressed. When the doctor came in, she was pleasant enough. However almost immediately, she took my hands and held on to them as she told me this story of her cousin who went on a diet and lost so much weight and felt so much better. Considering, I had been there for quite a while, had a ripped paper gown which was falling off of me, could not go to the bathroom and was now about to have a pelivic exam – I found this to be incredibly unprofessional and insensative. If I had asked her for some weight-​loss suggestions, that might have been an acceptable topic. Needless to say – I am not going back. Now I need to find a new doctor.

Dr. Greer is one of the best doctors I have ever seen. Finding an OB/​GYN, or any doctor in general, who I feel comfortable with has been a challenge for me, but Dr. Greer is wonderful. She has a very sincere, caring, and friendly personality, which makes speaking with her easy. She also is very thorough in looking into issues and makes sure that everything is explained in detail. While you may wait a bit before the appointment, it is worth it when you realize how much time she spends with you. She has a very positive perspective on health overall and always offers helpful guidance, making troubling situations much less stressful. I would recommend her to any woman in any stage of life!

I go to Dr. Geer every year for my annual exam. She is efficient, gentle and is always willing to listen and answer any questions.
I am always very tense and anxious with these exams and Dr. Geer always makes me feel relaxed and comfortable.
Her staff is friendly and always work with my schedule. If the doctor is running late or at the hospital, they always call to let me know.

Worst GYN I have ever seen. Never on time almost always 2 hours wait. Appears to be always in a hurry. Requested medical release and still have not been signed off after more than 2 weeks. Very disappointed. Time to look for a new doctor.

I love Dr. Geer and her staff. I have been visiting this office since 2010 and even referred friends and family. The office is always clean and filled with refreshments, the staff is always super professional and friendly, appointment times have always been available around my busy schedule. Dr. Geer gives me the time and attention I need. She is very experienced and knowledgeable and always able to answer any health questions or concerns I have had. Dr. Geer is very attentative and has a calming presence to her that makes you feel welcomed, relaxed and comfortable. I highly recommend Dr Geer!

Dr. Geer is simply the best!!!
We couldn’t ask for a better doctor to deliver our bundle of joy. I felt completely calm through the entire pregnancy knowing I had such a knowledgeable, strong and respected doctor looking after my health and the health of our un born baby. She truly made the pregnancy a special experience. She spent a lot of time with me during all my in office visits and was very thurow when answering any questions I may have had. During the delivery Dr. Geer made my husband and I feel very calm. She was supportive and encouraging and I felt so relaxing just know I had such an amazing woman bringing our baby into the world. After delivery Dr. Geer visited us everyday, in the hospital, checking in on my health and ensuring everything post delivery was going smooth.
My husband, baby girl and I owe a healthy pregnancy and delivery to Dr. Ger and I strongly recommend her to anyone looking for a OB!

I went to Dr. Geer for a second opinion for having a hysterectomy. The first appointment I was told to call prior as she usually runs late, so I was happy to have that prior notice. Even though I had to wait longer than I would have liked, it was completely worth it. Dr. Geer is very pleasant, extremely knowledgeable with current research and the most important, patiently answered all of my questions. She confirmed after looking at my ultrasound results that I should indeed have a hysterectomy. It wasn’t like, oh, yes, you need major abdominal surgery. We thoroughly discussed various surgical options and reasons why things were causing me discomfort. I felt so comfortable with her that I ended up choosing her instead of who my primary care physician recommended.
The second appointment was with my husband and he was very impressed with her knowledge and explanation of not only what was going on with my uterus, but also details of the surgery and post-​op care. While we waited, I enjoyed the massage chair and complimentary tea and water. If you read this and do make an appointment at least you have a heads up to bring reading material or something to entertain yourself while waiting. There is also free Wi-​Fi available.
The morning of my surgery she again explained the procedure and was comforting. After the surgery she visited me in the hospital and again was very kind and set my mind at ease about recovery concerns I had.
I recently saw her for my 6 week post-​op surgery appointment. She was not only pleased I was doing so well, but she is an advocate for full body health. Dr. Geer cares about one’s overall health which to me is important because it wasn’t just take your uterus out and move on. She is very caring and nurturing.
Even though I visited her office for gynecological issue, it was always a pleasure to see the hundreds of baby cards that fill her office. I think she mentioned delivering over 6,000 babies. Those birth announcements, birthday party cards and holiday photo cards show so much love and joy that she has helped create for many families. Wonderful!
Lastly, Tina and Jamie her assistants are very nice and on top of things in that office. From appointments to insurance authorization approvals to information about my surgery and patiently answering all my other questions – these ladies are outstanding.
I highly recommend seeing Dr. Cheryl Geer in her Camarillo or Westlake Village office for your OB/​GYN health.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Dr. Geer. She is truly one of the hardest working women I have met. Right from our first visit she made me feel like I was in good hands. I have a heart condition and she was so thorough and only wanted the best for me and my baby. She puts her patients needs and well being first and she walks with you every step of the way. After reading through all of the reviews, yes, there were times you would wait, but who wouldn’t want to wait for such great care? In our society everyone is in such a rush and how wonderful and amazing is it that Dr. Geer actually takes the time to get to know her patients so she can make the best health plan for her patients. She is patient, kind, intelligent and makes you feel like you could be her own daughter. My pregnancy journey was complicated between my heart issues and potential growth issues with the baby… Dr. Geer made it uncomplicated because she made the best decisions for me and my daughter at every visit. She delivered our little girl a little over a month ago and I can’t thank her enough for her guidance. I highly recommend her and will always be grateful for my time spent with her and for the blessing she delivered.

The doctor just didn’t show up for the appointment. I made an 8:30am one, hoping that this would save me from 2 hours wait that many others had experienced. No luck. For the first 15 minutes the receptionist kept telling me that the doctor just called she is already on her way to the office and should be in any second. After that the story suddenly changed to «doctor was delivering a baby all night and she will be in late». All these make-​up excuses are absolutely disgusting, doubt that a Dr. who doesn’t respect patients and values their time so little would be a good professional.

We owe the lives of our babies to Dr. Geer. If it was not for her being attentive and cautious, the extremely premature delivery of my babies would not have had as positive an outcome as it did. Dr. Geer visited me every single day I was in the hospital, she was up at 2AM some nights consulting with my nurses to ensure that I was as comfortable as possible. She was constantly communicating with my nursing staff to evaluate my condition which I wasn’t even aware of some times. If she had a busy day at the office with other patients or deliveries she would still come by to check on me … even if it was 11PM. It is very rare to find someone who is as caring and attentive as she is.
Dr. Geer is truly one of the most caring doctors around. She takes her time with each patient, some visits require a little more time than others depending each patient’s need. There have been times where it was me that needed the extra attention therefore I am truly understanding when it’s my turn to wait a little while. Some times I just call 30 mins ahead to check to see if they’re running behind. It’s better to call ahead but some times the girls in her office will also call you. I don’t think I’ve ever been to any doctor’s appointment where I haven’t waited.

Dr. Geer helped save our baby boys life by saving our pregnancy. My wife had a very high risk pregnancy. She stayed 95 days in Los Robles hospital. Where in previous pregnancies did not make with other ob. My wife was referred to Dr. Geer and know we have beautiful baby. Thank god for guiding Dr. Geer. She went out of her way to ensure a birth was an outcome. It was difficult times but she is an amazing Doctor.

I absolutely love Dr. Geer and my whole experience while I’m at her office. In reference to the previous negative reviews, the receptionist always calls me the day before my appointment to remind me of the appointment and she also adds that I can call before I come in to see if I should come later in case they are running behind. I admire this about Dr. Geer. She wants to answer every question you have. She CARES. I’ve been to so many doctors who want you in and out. In other doctors’ offices I’ve been to, you must make another appointment if you have questions about anything other than the reason you are there. Dr. Geer even explained this to me that she wants to help her patients in every way she can while they are there. I really did feel that I had her undivided attention.
Her waiting room is also very pleasant. It has lots of magazine options, baby name books, bottled water, and coffee.
I have not had a baby yet but I would feel very comfortable having her as my doctor during that time.
If you want a genuine and caring doctor, go to Dr. Geer. She really is great!

I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Geer and her staff. She was my doctor for 6 years before I got pregnant, and then walked me through my pregnancy. During labor and delivery she was wonderful! So calm, cool & collected even during a little bit of a scare. Her office is warm and welcoming and her demeanor is so kind and gentle. I love her!

I was speaking with a pregnant woman who had heard some not very good things about Dr. Geer and I was shocked! So I decided to check out her Unilocal and see what this was all about! I had my first son with Dr. Geer and I will say I do not have one bad thing to say about her or the entire experience. I was very young when I found out I was pregnant and very scared. She was an amazing Doctor that held my hand thru the whole journey. I would recommend her to anybody!

I wouldn’t even give her or her staff one star if I had the choice. Her front staff can be rude and they do not know what they are doing with insurance. They tried to tell me I had a $ 200 deductable after I had been going there paying the $ 20 copays for MONTHS! After contacting my insurance (before I agreed to pay) they told me absolutely NOT… do not pay a deductable, you have a PPO that covers it!
They also take FOREVER to be seen. All my appointments take at LEAST 2 – 2.5 hours. This morning, the receptionist didn’t even call the Dr. to come into the office (guessing she was at home) 30 minutes later comes strolling in. Then, I had gone in when I was about 6 weeks pregnant and I tried to discuss my weight concerns since I was overwight before I was pregnant. SHe brushed it off that it was not a big dea, saying «you know what you need to do.» nO HELP AT ALL. At that same appointment she was concerned telling my that I am very high risk because I had preeclampsia with my first. (first time I heard that too. I was in the Navy and the communication there wasn’t the greatest). So she told me she was concerened and try to quit your job and take it easy…
SO THIS recent appointment at 14 weeks, She was upset that I had gained too much weight… her exact words, «If you want to ruin your body after the baby is here, that is your problem but don’t make an innocent being inside you pay for your mistakes and cause health risks for them!» ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I had been asking for guidance. The first trimester was super hard for me being nauseous and all. To top it off, I guess she saw that my last name was spanish and said, «in Spanish cultures there is a misconception that they can eat whatever they want. Well this is perposterous! You can’t.» WOW!
Then, I asked her about exercising and if it was safe since I was so high risk. (just wanted to get cleared by a dr first). She said «what do you mean high risk?» I then proceeded to remind her of my preeclampsia before and she said“why haven’t you told me about this before!!!” OMG! Lady, you were the one who had told ME when looking at my past records!!! I honestly felt like I was in the twilight zone! She made me feel HORRIBLE! DO NOT GO TO HER

Dr. Geer has been the very best doctor I’ve ever been to, and far and away better than other OBGYNs I’ve been to in Camarillo. And I’ve been to see her a lot this past year! She oversaw my high-​risk pregnancy: always asking the right questions, scheduling many ultrasounds, steering me to the best hospital, and offering me options while leaving it open to me if I wanted to take them (e.g. the vitamins are available there, and there’s some genetic testing options, but she leaves it up to the patient). She’s also down-​to-​earth and funny to boot!
Most important of all, because of her guidance and expertise, I now have a healthy 1-​month-​old baby after a really heathy pregnancy. I needed a repeat c-​section (my first was an emergency one) and not only was it completely easy and not at all scary, she went above and beyond and even cleaned up some scar tissue that the previous c-​section had left so I could avoid complications later in life. Instead of quick staples, she took the extra time to give me stitches (both safer and better looking). She came to see me every day in the hospital after the surgery. I was home on the 3^rd day and within the first week, was walking to the park with my 4-​year-​old and the new baby.
As for the office wait, there is sometimes a wait, but this is because she gives as much time to each patient as they need. It is worth waiting (or, just calling ahead to know if I should come in a little later– a great option!) if it means I can ask all my questions and never feel rushed when I’m meeting with her.
Finally, the nurses are so sweet. Thanks to Dr. Geer, and to the staff too!

I would have been a new patient today, but it didn’t happen. Why? Well, after waiting more then 1 hour and 15 minutes, wearing a paper gown (again being generous), while sitting in an over heated exam room waiting some more, I finally gave up. Put my clothes back on, collected my paperwork and left.
Any woman knows that the annual visit is dreaded, and we hope that it goes smooth, and we are out of the office before we know it. I waited for soooo long, in a room, stripped down to nothing, and still decided that the hassel of finding another physician would be better then this experience. Even knowing the possibility of it happening again. Does that not say enough? I mean to be in the paper gown and still choose to leave? Ugh.
As though the waiting wasn’t enough, the exam rooms must be constructed from tissue paper. Why? I could hear EVERYTHING happening around me. I could even hear the paper gown being opened by the young woman in the next room! I wonder if she stayed? There is NO confidentiality here.
On a side note, the waiting room has a water feature that is burbling water and swishing. I remember being pregnant and having to pee often, I cant imagine what that stupid things does for the pregnant women who surely will have to wait, and wait, and wait…
