With most of my many experiences with Derek, he’s been helpful however, my last two were not and I felt compelled to write this review. Derek has worked on both my desktop and my laptop several times. He recommended installing Ubuntu on both. The desktop install was successful however the installation on my laptop was not. I kept receiving error boxes when logging on. I contacted Derek and took my laptop back to him for resolution. He began working on it until another client walked in and began assisting them. I politely waited, and waited, and waited. Thought an hour and a half would be sufficient time, I suggested I could pick it up later and I also quietly told him on 3 different occasions, throughout my wait, that I had a meeting to go to. I waited until the last minute, told him I had to leave and that I’d be back in an hour to finish what we were working on. When I returned, he informed me he would not work on my laptop and told me to leave, period. I have been a repeat customer, have referred him several times, have always paid my bills without question. I have never asked for him to work on any of my systems for free. What I did communicate to him was that I didn’t think it was right that I had paid him for the installation already, and for it to work properly, and now he wanted me to pay for fixing it. Would you? Apparently there was some misunderstanding. When I tried to discuss it with him he refused and just kept telling me to leave. So today, I called the new computer store that just opened on the island with printer issues and discovered it’s Derek’s business operating under a different name. We set up a time for troubleshooting and I reminded him of the earlier incident and asked if that was going to be an issue. He told me he won’t help me and not to bring in my computer. What kind of customer service is this?

I was having trouble with my computer and stopped by to see these guys. Come to find out that it was a hardware problem and they would have it fixed within 3 days. two days later I get a call telling me that my computer was fixed. The loner that they gave me was actually better than my computer. Everything worked great and I couldn’t be happier. A few months later I brought my Mom in when she was having trouble with her laptop. They were so patient and understanding with her because like many seniors, she was technologically challeneged but the kind people at Norseman Computer answered all of her novice questions without talking down to her. I would recomend these guys to anyone and if I ever have another problem then Norseman Computer will be the first place I go to.
