We were visiting Solomons for a long weekend and we had our dog. She came to the island kind of stinky, and after some exercise in the hot sun she was hot, damp, smelly and in we went to Peppers for a wash. I’d seen the dog wash sign when shopping at the grocery next door and I was eager to give her a wash We went in, got assigned a tub and everything was right there to take care of her. Soaps were in dispensers that led to the hose, and you dial to get each of the soap choices or water. We washed her, and then used a bottle from the shelf to condition her coat. We then used a towel and their hair dry system to dry her – blowing cool air from a shop-vac type thing. Wham, bam she was washed, mostly dry and we paid and were on our way. She was, of course, unhappy but it was better(for her) then when we drop her off for a full grooming. She really hates to be washed. Stinking, for us, is not an option so I’m thrilled Peppers was there for us. I noticed all the«better» dog foods for sale, and lots and lots of interesting treats that are available to purchase individually(not pre-packaged. It’s quite a big pet store. They were very nice and it really could not have worked out better.

Alas, the Calloway location has closed for good, but the main store in Solomons Island is still open for business.
