This place is a lot better than Dunkin Doughnuts! When the fritters are fresh the can’t be beaten. Too bad their not always fresh. Although The coffee has always been good. I was disappointed when they closed early without notice. Being an owner/operator business that’s their prerogative but it doesn’t bode well in a responsible business climate. I’ve skipped many a visit in protest. I am a proponent of independent businesses so I haven’t given up on this Mom and Pop shop. When the quality of their service and their product becomes consistent then so will my patronage.

In a world where Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts have dominated the deep fried breakfast marketplace with their consistent yet mediocre offerings, a place like Daddy O’s here in Calhoun, GA is a breath of delicious fresh air! Located right off of I-75 this is an easy choice if you are traveling north of Atlanta to points north. Try the fritters, these are a stand out here. Great prices too!

The donuts are FABULOUS! Melt in your mouth — be careful, they go down super fast! They do have«donut holes» as well. DELICIOUS! This ATL mom is a HUGE fan!

Great find along the highway! Exit 312 off 75 North in Calhoun GA. Ironically across street from DD but don’t stop there! These donuts at Daddy O’s were fresh & delicious! Way better than DD’s! 3 milks and a dozen gourmet donuts including red velvet donut, maple bacon, cream filled long johns, peach and blueberry fritters, sprinkles, and custard filled donuts ran us around $ 20! Well worth it:) Friendly staff too:) enjoy!

Place was run by a teenager for his dad the day we went. Agreed it was late afternoon, but if it’s that late, they shouldn’t be serving stale donuts. The ones we had were awful. Will not return. Can’t wait for Duncan Donuts to open! I also thought they were too expensive for tasteless donuts. We couldn’t get a coffee either. If they want to stay open til 5, they ought to be baking fresh throughout the day and have that pot of coffee going. We went in around 3. Kid said place had been empty all day and he did not expect anyone else. He should have just closed the doors then.

I’ll need more visits to give this place 5 stars, but it has the potential. I’ve only eaten here once due to the fact that it’s located in my hometown, and I live in a different state. But I will say that where I live we only have Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Donuts, which people love, but I prefer local bakery donuts the best. My husband and I stopped by after early church one Saturday morning. I had heard my Facebook Friends back home talk about this place. After finding it in a tiny stand alone building on Hwy 53, we were lucky to get one of the three parking spaces in front. They did have a line of cars in the drive through. There was also a line inside and two people working the place, so it did move kind of slow. However, once we got through the line and I finally sunk my teeth into that apple fritter, I was in heaven. Boy how I miss homemade apple fritters. I also ordered a single glazed donut which was good as well. It’s nice to have a second donut joint in Calhoun, especially off the exit my parents live. I’m a huge fan of the Donut Castle, but if you don’t get up and get there early, the selection is limited and depleted.

My first time trying this place was early Black Friday morning. I had just gotten off work from a horrible 10 hour shift of madness, to see the store open. I was too tired to sit there and debate on what I wanted, so I grabbed two dozen doughnut holes for myself and the kids to much on while I tried to get a nap in. They were FANTASTIC! Once a week, there are two large boxes from here in the break room at my job, and every single kind I have tried I have loved. Great doughnuts and friendly service! I sincerely hope this place sticks around!

This is a good doughnut spot. We gave it a shot as we scouted it out on the way back to my in-laws’ house from church. After narrowly avoiding a crash into the line to Bojangles, we arrived at a very simple destination. We grabbed one of the 3 parking spots and jumped in line. They were popular! I got a glazed doughnut and one that was lemon filled with a coffee. My wife got an apple fritter with a milk. My lemon doughnut was a bit too sweet for my taste, but the glazed was excellent. My wife loved the apple fritter. This is one of the local destinations that you should seek out while traveling. Nice people and a homemade product. Very good and worth the wait in line.
