Place is a local hangout, for the elderly crowd. Really need to update the whole restaurant, its stuck in the 1980’s; men’s bathroom was not very clean either. Ordered the fish special and it was deep, and I mean deep fried that it was all batter, tooth shattering tough. I ate ½.came with onion rings,(blah) the hush puppy was good though. Been here several times, and it is always just OK. Too many new restaurants around CC that are way more consistent.

Typical diner fare. Good food, at good prices. You won’t leave hungry. The service is friendly and attentive. I’m sure I’ll be back when I’m in the mood for some diner food.

Well I finally got around to Thirsty. The oldest eatery in Cape Coral. It is not fancy but you get a warm welcome as if you have been coming here for years. At least that is how I felt. I was seated promptly ask for my drink & given a menu. Before I could peruse the menu my server sung out the daily special. Then gave me sometime. I order the home-made beef barley soup & special of the day stuff fish. The beef barley was great super hot and delish. Lots of beef & barley hardly any room for crackers. I was given a large portion of stuff fish and rice with a shrimp fill sauce. It was outstanding though a touch too much maybe of the sauce. Any way there was too much for me to finish so I needed a doggie bag. So if you desire good old fashion American food check this place out. This is for the safe diners not the adventurous kind such as myself

Been here twice and both times have had the special, fish and shrimp with two sides($ 11.95) and loved it. Not overly battered or fried. Very friendly service. Local restaurant that’s been around forever.

Arrived here on a Friday night with my parents for dinner. The place is small & unassuming from the outside, as well as on the inside. It looks like an older home that has been converted into a restaurant. Our waitress was very friendly & fast. All of the seem to be rushing around. On Fridays, they have a 2 fish, 4 shrimp & two sides special for 11.95. I decided to try that with them fried, along with onion rings & a blue cheese salad. The salad was the usual lettuce & dressing. The fish was tender & well battered. I liked the flavor & the two pieces were huge. The 4 shrimp were large as well & very tasty. I didn’t care much for the onion rings, they were okay, but not great or amazing. I think my order only had 5 of them. If you’re looking to try something that all the locals seem to eat at, this is a great place to try!

A restaurant that’s highly rated, but closes from 2:00 pm — 4:00 pm sounded interesting, so we tried it on 1÷17÷14. We ordered the fish fry which was $ 7.99 and very good. We obviously have no experience with the other items on the menu, but what stood out for us was the service. Our waitress was helpful without making us feel she was just working for a nice tip. I noticed the other servers seemed truly interested in their customers, as well. Many were greeted by name. It all felt very authentic. There were a lot of cars parked outside, but there are three small dining rooms that can accommodate a lot of people, as we didn’t have to wait for a table. We’ll definitely be back.

I went to Thirsty’s with a work colleague who recommended it. We were promptly greeted with smiling faces and friendly people who seated us promptly. Drink orders were taken immediately, as should be during business lunch hours. By the time they drinks arrived we were ready to order. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and a cup of New England style clam chowder. The chowder was full of clams, no skimping here, and was flavorful. The sandwich was stuffed with pastrami and served with mayo. I would’ve preferred mustard but it was delivered when requested. Thirsty’s is definitely«old school» in it’s décor, but more importantly the service and food are the great kind of «old school»! I’ll be back!
