Love their sushi. The jalepeno popper is the best. My boyfriend loves their curry. My kids always enjoy the chicken teriyaki. Great lunch specials too.

I wasn’t sure what we would find here. We kept having people tell us to eat here but there seemed to be a lot of negative reviews. We finally tried it today and have to agree with many of the other reviewers. The dining room is a COLD dark dingy box. I could have dealt with dark and dingy but I was miserable during our time here. It was 73 F in Cape Coral this afternoon. It was much warmer outside than it was inside. They must have the temperature set in the 60s. I was wearing jeans and a shirt with sleeves. I went to the car for a jacket and even that didn’t keep me from shivering. We had the lunch special. I tried three rolls: eel and cucumber, Mexican and spicy tuna. The spicy tuna was ok and it was the best of the three — 3 stars. The eel and cucumber had very little eel to the point you couldn’t taste it in the roll. It was bland, as was the Mexican. The food came out for our lunch in a reasonable amount of time. The server was pleasant enough and did bring us drink refills, although she does have a habit of making comments as she’s walking away(which meant I didn’t hear what she was saying very often). We weren’t impressed with the food. Even if we had enjoyed it, I wouldn’t want to come back because the environment isn’t one I ever want to revisit.

This restaurant is one of the most sloppily run establishments I’ve ever had the displeasure of ‘eating’ at. We arrived and were seated at a half booth table. Ten minutes after arriving we were presented with two laminated menus and one take out menu because they had ‘run out’. At this point I look around in the restaurant where we are 1 of the four tables with guests. There were three of us dining, all of us ordered an appetizer and a sushi roll. 40 minutes after our arrival my friend and I received our appetizers(at different times) and our third friend had not. I had the chicken satay(made from chicken thighs??) and my friend the miso soup. I was confused by the choice to not use white meat but can say the peanut sauce was decent at best. An hour after our arrival our friend had still not gotten her appetizer. Frustrated at this we asked when our food would arrive only to have the waitress start meandering around the restaurant serving others before even attempting to address our complaint. We asked a second waitress the status only to be told that she would ‘check’ only to be told yet another 15 minutes. At this point there was no explanation, no apology, no concern, and all waitstaff in the restaurant seemed unbothered. At this point we signaled yet another waitress and asked her to cancel our orders and give us a check for what we had gotten.(This was an hour and fifteen minutes after arrival). The waitress was thoughtful enough to go and alert the kitchen to our decision prior to getting us our check. It was only at which point that we stood up to leave that we were presented our check. I want to also mention they had THREE people behind the bar rolling sushi in a half empty restaurant the fact that a SUSHI restaurant is unable to present three rolls in under an hour and a half is outrageous. I am in complete awe at the lack of professionalism displayed and i’m pretty sure the hostess was completely high. She could barely keep her eyes open and walked around lazily scratching her head and periodically looking at the ceiling.

ONLYEATHEREIFTOUWANTTOBEYOUROWNWAITSTAFFANDKITCHEN. NOEXAGGERATIONTHEWORSTEXPERIENCE I HAVEEVERHAD. We sat down at 605, 1 of only 3 tables of people. Had two different waitresses come to our table who seemed very openly confused about who had what table… there are only 3 parties of people how confusing could that be? Ordered 1 appetizer each, myself and two of my friends, and 1 sushi roll each as an entrée. One of my friends got her soup about 15 minutes later while myself and my other friend say there with nothing to eat. My other friend got her appetizer about 30 minutes after that, chicken satay made from dark meat chicken? Current recap: 45 minutes and 2⁄3 have had appetizers only. The best part of this story is that we continued to wait, stupidly, another HOUR with no food! We asked to cancel our orders at this point and get our check to which our waitress responded that she«would check out back to see if we could cancel it.» If we could cancel it? Are you serious? She then returned and said that our food would be another 15 minutes. Current recap: 105 minutes and 2⁄3 have appetizers and we were told that it would be another 15 minutes before we got our 3 sushi rolls. By that logic it would takes 40 minutes to make one roll of sushi. We again asked our waitress for our check for what we had received and she seemed very distraught and frantic. During this time another distraught waitress ran into a high-chair with a baby carrier on it and the infant fell into the table. She then took one look to I guess make sure she was ok and went into the next table saying very loudly«that’s why I hate those things!» Finally, 10 minutes later, after standing at the table, the waitress finally went over to the computer and printed out our ticket and brought it to us. Final recap: Nearly 2 hours later all that was accomplished was 2 out of 3 appetizers, a fallen baby, and a check for the full bill. I read all these great reviews about the food which is really sad because I never got to eat any of it. The waitress walk around with no sense of urgency about anything but the second you ask for a check they are so frantic like they couldn’t possibly be asked to do one more thing. The owners kids were sitting all over the restaurant floor with their toys. There were three people rolling sushi behind the bar and in 2 hours no one had eaten.

Pretty slow night when we came in. Got seated in the back and on my way to the table i noticed children toys everywhere and a bicycle? right behind us. 1) i don’t think that would pass health inspection 2) why are there toys everywhere in the back, i understand they might have kids but presentation is pretty important, especially in a sushi place. Those things should be in the back room or not even at a restaurant. The sushi was good but took FOREVER to get our food. The service here is so slow to get anything, really disappointing. Also, I ordered the dragon roll here and i’m pretty sure most sushi places, the dragon roll comes with eel and eel sauce, their dragon roll was simliar to the«caterpiller roll» where you get at other sushi places, thought that was weird. Must be a Florida thing. i don’t know. Anyways, i don’t know if i would be back only because the service was really slow, perhaps maybe get togo next time since i live close by. NOTE: the couple that sat next to us probably got there 10 min after we did and i noticed after we ate and paid out they still didn’t get their food. Pretty sure they have been waiting over 45 mins or longer…

We must have gotten them on a bad night. The place wasn’t that crowded, but our meal started with the servers not being certain who was covering our table. The discussion took place right in front of us, and it was rather loud. Once we were settled a waitress took our order. Both my wife and I ordered Wonton soup as a starter. About 15 minutes later she came back and apologized that they were out of Wonton. She then offered us their house soup as a substitute. My bowl was just slightly above room temperature. I sent it back. The replacement bowl was only slightly warmer. The kitchen was clearly not having a good night. My wife’s Pork Taipei somehow got turned into Pork Fried Rice in the kitchen. Our waitress made a point of getting the order slip to be certain we knew who was at fault. Why? If she was on the ball she would have caught the mistake before she served the dish. The dishes don’t look alike. She did bring her a replacement meal. She was friendly and pleasant. The food quality was good overall, but nothing special. We eat Thai food often and this was not great. The room is so loud that it was difficult to hear each other. Someday we might give them another chance, but it won’t be anytime soon.

I had the red curry beef. It was good but almost like a stew, with lots of liquid. I ordered. it really hot and they definitely came through on that. My fiancée had the basil chicken stir fry and wasn’t impressed. It was very very salty and the basil overpowered the dish. The ginger salads were good. We sat outside because the inside of the restaurant smelled weird.

It’s shockingly bad. In every possible way. It’s offensive to supermarket sushi. Took two hours to get served. Congratulations to everyone that gave this more than one star. It will be an amazing experience for you when you experience real food.

Let’s start by admitting that the sushi we had was pretty darn good. My wife is still a sushi newbie and needs some convincing and a lot of eel sauce. We ordered the Cape Coral Special and Dawns Delight I think it was called. My wife liked the cape coral special and I chose the latter. Both were pretty tasty. I felt the Delight one has a simpler taste to it and worked well with soy sauce. We ordered the edemame and that was good as usual. Our group was some what large so I think for the most part everyone enjoyed their ordered. My complaints aren’t food. It’s kinda management and kinda… I guess franchise? They definitely have too many menus. It’s a lot to look at and discouraging because I wonder if they are good at any of it since it’s so much. Also, they were out of some beer and toward the end of the night they started to play some rock music that did not fit the sushi/Asian vibe. I’ll be back for the sushi and hopefully things improve so I can give it at least a higher star.

Came here with a group of about 10, plenty of space when tables are pushed together. The place is nothing fancy but they have really delicious sushi. We tried the Cape Coral roll and the Dawn’s Delight and both tasted fresh. Also had the edamame to start(pretty standard, haha) and the crab rangoon which had their version of eel sauce on it and some kind of cinnamony sugar, it was very tasty. Everyone at the table said they enjoyed their food. Only complaint they were out of plum wine and some of their listed beers.

I just moved to Cape Coral from California. I really enjoyed my meal! I ordered the ginger salad and the Jackie Chan Roll, which the waitress said was a good choice and popular. I loved it and the service was great!

I went for the first time today, based on location and positive Unilocal reviews. I was in a hurry, so had my sushi to go. It was very good! Place was mysteriously dark, and very quiet. But like I said, The sushi was good! I will return!

Fantastic! I was an out of town visitor looking for sushi for lunch. Read the reviews on this place and decided to give it a try. Started with a cup(which is actually a bowl) of won ton soup. It was fabulous. The broth was perfect and they add veggies(carrot, broccoli) which was a welcome touch. Won tons appeared to be house made. Also had a spicy tuna roll. Very good. 8 pieces, soft rice and flavorful fresh tuna. The staff was very friendly and service was quick. Would definitely visit again.

This place does not look like a 5 star restaurant but if you love fresh sushi as well as other tasty dishes this is the place to be. Every roll I’ve had here is beyond delicious and beautifully presented. Soup and salad are great starters as well. Love going here!

Love, love, love Sans Sushi! My sister-in-discovered it when we all moved here(she lived on the East Village in NYC so she is a self-described«sushi snob.») Best sushi around! I love the Ultimate California roll and the Kylie roll. Jackie Chan roll is great too! Also they have delicious miso soup, salads and lots of vegan options for my husband.

A very long wait for average sushi. From sitting to leaving, it took an hour and a half, split between waiting for our food(understandable on a busy night) and waiting for our bill(mind-boggling and frustrating). The chef’s choice sashimi appetizer was a good deal, but included krab stick(I don’t consider that sashimi) and a very tough white fish, along with some delicious and generously portioned tuna and salmon. The Thai iced tea was not authentic, too sweet, but my boyfriend liked it enough to order another, once we were able to order it, about 20 minutes after we finished our drinks. When the waitress finally brought us our second drinks, she brought regular iced tea for my boyfriend, which he drank anyway since he was so thirsty. The rolls were priced similarly to other joints we’ve been to, maybe even a little higher, but don’t merit the cost. I don’t know if it’s like this all the time or if the chef felt rushed on a busy night, but our rolls were sloppy with inconsistent quality through the roll. Don’t order take out unless you have an hour to kill. Many parties at the bar were people waiting for their take out orders, those took a hour or more.

The sushi was amazing… I was hesitant to stop in because of a review I read, but it was so crowded and I figured that was a good sign. The sushi was delicious, and the people sitting on either side of me enjoyed theirs as well. I also liked the ginger dressing. I’m not sure if they were missing a few staff persons or what, because it seemed like there were some delays in the dining room. But for a Wednesday night, I’ll take it. I would definitely, DEFINITELY visit again!
