Misto Bar and Grill, Del Prado, S, Cape Coral, FL., Here is my 2 cents on the food, chit chat and random thoughts. I was pointed in this direction by a fellow foodie for this place. I checked the on line menu and was planning to try the bison burger. BUT I went with this day lunch special entrée’s. In this case veal stew. Never had it. I am always adventurous. In this case a winner. First I was given a hot buttery garlic bread. Bread is almost forgotten now a days. It tasted so good and I was offered more mmmmm. The veal stew had to be one of the best meals I have had in the last few months. Chunks of veal, potato some corn in a tomatoe base. It was savory and so flavorable. The only bad part was I burnt my tongue when it was first set down in front of me.LOL. And bread for the end to sop up all the goodness. I keep finding out all the really good places are within 4 miles of my house and my gourmet ghetto North Fort Myers. Great food reasonable prices. Hidden here in a strip mall a great place to chow down. Great service. NOTE; This is more of a elegant bistro. NOT a bar.

The best restaurant in the Cape! I and my guests have never been disappointed! Don’t be put off by the location. We have eaten and enjoyed the fish dishes, especially the Seabass specials. Lamb shanks are delicious and so are the steaks. Try it, you will love it. Don’t forget dessert. Flourless chocolate cake, yummy, chocolate layer cake, don’t remember what it was called, excellent. Desserts are brought to your table(a variety to choose from on a tray) This way you get to see the desserts before you order.

The sea bass special was fantastic and the filet mignon was just as good! The bread and oil mixture you get with the meal was yum yum yummy!

Had reservations for 4 at Misto’s last night. Arrived on time and were seated immediately. Cocktails were slow coming. Our waitress, Susan, was very nice although she had too many tables in her section to give everone the proper service they deserved. All of our food was outstanding. The sour note on the evening was that the restaurant owner would not honor business cards he had signed for free glasses of wine. While we admit we’d had the cards for sometime, there was no expiration date indicated on them. As restaurant owners ourselves for over 25 years, we believe that good food, good service & your word generates loyalty and repeat business. Misto will not be at the top of our list to visit again soon.

Okay, so don’t judge a book by it’s cover. Misto is in a strip mall next to a comic book shop, but it is a fantastic restaurant. We had reservations on a rainy Friday night(during season!) at 7pm and waited a very short period of time to be seated. Our table wasn’t the best(round, kind of in the middle between the bar and the restaurant section, a little awkward), but the maitre d’ realized this and offered us something different. We didn’t care that much. The menu was extensive — don’t look at the online menu before you go because it isn’t the same. It is «moderately priced,» with most entrees around $ 22 – 30. My husband chose the Seafood Napoleon(salmon, crab stuffed shrimp in bacon, scallops) and I chose the lamb shank with cheesy risotto. While we waited we received a basket of three HUGE, thick, crusty garlic rolls — delicious. The lamb shank was absolutely incredible, cooked to perfection. I am not super into cheese, and even I loved the cheesy risotto. The portion was massive. Same with my husband’s meal — huge and delicious. We ordered peanut butter pie for dessert, though it was difficult to decide out of eight or so choices of desserts. We weren’t disappointed. What really stood out to me about this restaurant(other than the food, of course) was how friendly and attentive ALL the staff was. The maitre d’ was very accommodating and friendly, checking in on us midway through our meal. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and was polite and professional. The bartender removed our dessert plates away and made friendly conversation. Even the young kid filling waters was friendly. Overall, AMAZING food and great staff. You won’t regret trying this hidden gem!

After a hard working day(during our vacation…) with landscaping, cleaning the Lanai, and, and, and, we decided to eat at the Misto. We didn’t know this restaurant, we just read some comments on tripadv. Although we read positive comments, we were surprised. The restaurant is quite simple furnished, but the staff were friendly, the white and red wine(sold by glass) nice and the food… amazing. We choosed Calemari fritti as an appetizer and sea misto as an entrée. If you like fish and mussels, you have to order sea misto — you will love it !! Misto Bar & Grill is in my opinion the best restaurant in Cape Coral. The prices are not cheap, but fair. Last, but not least; dresscode Casual Elegance(Jeans and shirt or Polo-shirt are ok).

Had a wonderful dinner with a client tonight. Highlights were Walu tuna(yes not Wahoo) and grouper. Clam steamers, escargot and boom boom shrimp really tasty. Buy the Paul Hobs Cab Franc! Worth it!
