We eat here a couple times a week and love it! However lately there has been a change in some of the bartenders and the different ones are not up to par… where are the good ones???

Food was terrible, Chile relleno was hard and undercooked. Service was good, but prices are too high for less than authentic Mexican food.

Great food every time we go. Love the different sauces and you choose what and how much you want. Even has a great kids menu.

It was a busy Wednesday night in the Cape, but it was a beautiful day and we wanted to have a great dinner to top the day off and found a seat at the bar in Iguana Mia. Our bartender Chris Pac(he said his last name was Pac like in Pac-man) was fantastic and lead us to a great evening of Frozen Libations, appetizers and a wonderful Sour Cream Burrito. I think it was one of the best Mexican meals I have had in a long time and with a great bartender like Chris it was a fun evening and we just can not wait to get back to the bar and have a Frozen Margarita and let Chris lead us to a great meal to go with his wonderful drinks.

Very good Mexican meal here today for lunch. Taco salad was nicely prepared and tasty with added grilled chicken. $ 1 Margarita on Mondays.

We enjoyed our food very much. Sauce selections were varied and very flavorful. Even found a tequila I hadn’t had. Service was very good and we would come back again.

We’ve tried several places for Mexican in Cape Coral and keep coming back to Iguana Mia. We usually get fajitas. Some things we especially like: Fajitas come in three size options: small, medium and large. Medium works well for my appetite. My husband goes with Large and doesn’t leave hungry. I tend to focus on eating fajitas when I order them and don’t have an appetite left for sides. If you don’t want them, you can tell the server and they deduct $ 1 from your bill. Nice option! Service is usually great. We have had one or two instances where we waited on our server and/or had to ask for refills of our beverages but that seems to be the exception and not the rule. One thing that is okay but we wish we could tweak: The sauces/salsa that comes to your table is a nice variety but the portion for the hot(which I prefer) is very small. Servers usually don’t notice when one type is empty and offer to bring more(although sometimes they do). One annoyance: In the recent past, they have opted to begin serving corn tortillas with fajitas that are very small — much smaller than they have in the past. They look ridiculously small in my husband’s hands and it is difficult to get much of anything inside them. Fortunately, we have had servers twice now who have made sure he gets larger tortillas when we made a special request. On one occasion the smaller ones came out with the food and we were told they didn’t have larger. The server saw the small ones had come out and went back and brought my husband the larger ones herself. All in all, it’s the taste of the food that keeps us coming back.

My wife and I went for dinner New Year’s Eve and were told a 45 minute wait for a patio table. We went to the bar and sat down in front of the bartender. 20 minutes still no drink order taken when finally got our drinks they were horrible. Was then told our table was ready and found out it was not a patio table but inside. After informing the hostess that I specifically told her I wanted a outside table she said it would be another 20 minute wait. We left and went to their competition.

Hands down this is the best Mexican food I have ever had … The salsa and chips that come out first are unreal. The carne asada is out of this world with just enough heat but doesn’t set you on fire. Location is great and the price is right. I would recommend this location to anyone.

Menu is too confusing and it’s way overpriced for what you get. Wife and I shared a large fajita order and our friend had small order. His had more steak than our large order. waiter was cool and said he’s not sure how that happens. For the life of me I can’t understand how this restaurant stays so busy. If another Mexican restaurant would open close to here and was above average it would be successful. Only go here for birthdays

I think they deserve more than 3 stars but not quite 4. 3 means A-OK and let’s give them A-OK and a half. Service was fast and friendly. Upon being seated I was asked if it was my birthday and if it had been the meal would have been free. The food was decent, bordering on good. The décor felt like I was in the southwest. I kind of felt that their prices were a little too high for what I got and I think this is why I cannot give them the full 4. I might return with a group but I likely will not dine alone there again.

What a wonderful find. I had the best quesadilla I have ever had plus 1 $ drinks! My husband had the combination plate and it also was delicious. Very nice décor and very friendly staff. I can’t wait to go back.

First visit and we really enjoyed it. Had a late lunch on the front patio. We were a little pressed for time so I didn’t get to try out their margaritas(next time) but had a very tasty lunch with a chicken enchilada(REALLY good) and a shredded pork taco(very good). The refried beans were tasty, the yellow rice I didn’t care for. I’ll try the red rice next time. My husband got a chicken/rice bowl and loved it. We split a fried ice cream. Best I’ve had in a while. The staff(manager and our waitress) were extremely friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be going back.

Without a doubt the worst customer service of any restaurant in Cape Coral. Sad too, because the food is decent. We decided to give this place one more chance after several bad experiences in a row. A bad choice. Walked in at 8:00pm to an empty waiting area. Walked to the hostess station that no one was manning. Stood there for 5 minutes waiting for someone to show up. I could see on the fancy iPad they had to track the number of tables that were occupied that there were 20 tables that were taken and 23 available. When the hostess finally arrived we were told it would be a 20 minute wait for a table. Unacceptable. I will take my appetite for Mexican food elsewhere from now on.

My wife and I stopped here to check it out. She had the chicken tacos which she realFood is great, the Chimichangas are delicious and very well portioned. The décor of the restaurant is also great. Someone invested a lot of time and money into the décor and themed it very well. Would definitely be back when in the Cape Coral area. Thanks for the great experience.

My wife and I sat outside to enjoy some lunch and we were waited on by Kurt. He was very attentive and accommodating. We started with some quest blanco which was very good and we experimented with all of the sauces and salsas for some time while enjoying one of their fine hand-crafted margaritas which was excellent(the one that Kurt made was excellent, the second one I had was made by the bartender and was far less delicious) My wife had the baja fish taco that she enjoyed with the addition of their house-made chipotle mayo. I had a pepper jack cheesesteak chimichanga. It was good but too many peppers in it for me Overall a good experience. Looks like it could use some«freshening up» though.

Mixed expectations going in, given the reviews. But the place was packed with locals and had a half hour wait at 6:30 on a Thursday… A good omen. As it turns out, we had a very good meal. The food seemed really fresh. Carnitas and carne Asada in particular were excellent. Fish special was just ok. Food could have been a bit spicier. Good service, and reasonable prices. Restaurant and bathrooms were clean, although one table setting silverware was dirty.

I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad experience at any of the iguana Mia restaurants and today’s visit was no exception neither. The server was a little slower than other times but they did appear to be short handed so when he did make his rounds, he made sure there was plenty of chips and salsa to cover the«low» in between visits! In fact there was so many chips and salsa they covered the entire table at one point but we didn’t complain! As for dinner I did a combo plate and went with a tex mex enchilada and a grilled chicken chimichanga and asked both to be covered in queso cheese. To compliment both I had yellow rice and pinto beans. When the plate arrived it was on a very wide spread and came out piping hot! Both the chimi and the enchilada tasted perfect and where both seasoned well! The rice and beans tasted spot on as well! Everything was prepared well and tasted the way it should be! Great! I been stopping at iguana mias for years, and I’ll continue to do so!

Let’s start with the good — — The chips are pretty good for(American) Mexican chips. — The salsa tastes fresh. They give you 3 types of salsa, fresh(mild), medium, & hot(it’s VERY hot). — Our server was so friendly & helpful, she truly cared about serving us. And the bad — — The food isn’t terrible, but it’s not authentic Mexican food at all. — I ordered a chicken burrito with black beans & fried potatoes. The burrito was literally chicken, store bought shredded cheese, & canned refried beans. The black beans came from a can & were dried over. The fried potatoes are from a bag, Taco Bell’s potato bowl is better. All served with a pinch of lettuce, 3 cubes of tomato, a picked onion & a random slice of radish. — The Mondays .99 cent margaritas taste like the mix, that’s it. I think they might use an eye dropper to put the tequila in. — The chips are hot & taste fresh, but some are so big they’re hard to eat. You have to break them up to eat them(trivial, I know). Overall, not a terrible restaurant. Not a good Mexican restaurant. An ok Americanized Mexican restaurant.
