Bait and switch tactics with the worst customer service around. The internet service is very slow. My speed is less than half of the speed I pay for. They told me it could not get any faster because I am at the end of their line which makes it slow and there is nothing they can do about it. Then they offered me a «deal»(hardly) on faster service but could not guarantee that I would get that speed either. Cancelled the service. Not worth it.

Once must understand what really went on here… First and foremost it was owned by Sprint and several years ago Sprint found a buyer for the company and took it upon themselves to do no further improvements. As it takes years for a company to purchase another company all those years went by without any improvements so when everything was said and done the new company walked out of the deal. Sprint was now stuck with spending money to bring the company up to speed. Along comes Centurylink and they got stuck with a company that was years behind in technology. My point is that Centurylink is doing its best at catch-up but its hard to fix something that has been badly neglected for years. I live in the NW Cape and was starting to really have problems with my internet… I was being dropped off line constantly, so much so that I was not able to hold a connection. I had called them for help many times and each time they could not figure out the problem as all their equipment was showing that everything was in good working order. The end result was that I finally figured it out and haven’t had a problem since… its because their modems are antiques! Even the duel modems/routers are still using the antique modem and in order for it to work they are using a slow router and charging you a rental fee for it? Go online or local Best Buy stores and purchase yourself a Linksys router and your own modem(I use the Motorola) and watch and see how great your computer moves then! Hopefully when Centurylink uses up all their old stock of modems and duel modems/routers they will be able to start to supply their customers with newer technology in the years to come. I had to give them a 4 star because it is not their fault and I truly believe they are working hard to get this company back to where it should be and now that I solved my own problem and have very fast internet speed without being dropped, I would never change to another company.

Extremely helpful staff. Products are continually improving. Unfortunately, this area does not offer near as good of service as I received in Denver nearly two years ago, and that hurts the companies’ reputation. This staff realizes this and is working hard to improve to that quality. Comcast is horrible with horrible customer service, switch and help Centurylink improve more.
