If you are an adult looking for a clean comfortable hotel this is NOT it. If you are looking for a filthy place to load all of your friends in to one crappy hotel room, see how drunk and loud you can get and how many people you can keep awake this IS your place, and the upside is the staff there is FINE with it. They are also good with vomit in the hallways and parking lot and are very good at completely ignoring that there may be paying customers there that deserve to at least be able to not be forced to listen to people screaming and puking. This was by far the most disgusting place I have ever seen and I wish I had listened to my gut and ran the moment I saw my room.

This is one of the saddest places I have ever stayed. I got a «deal» through for $ 99 plus tax, normally $ 149+ This felt more like a $ 30 per night place I posted many photos showing the condition of the room. It is dated, carpets are worn and stained. It is a complete mess. The thing is, I believe they genuinely try to at least maintain the status quo. Unfortunately, that’s simply not good enough. You could hear every noise as the walls are paper thin. The bed was hard as a rock. I got maybe three hours of sleep. The location on the canal is nice and the wi-fi seems functional most of the time. They do have a small pool and a laundry facility as well. That said, it’s truthfully time to either remodel to bring the place up to standards most people would consider acceptable or sell the place to a chain that has the money to do so. As is, this place is a pit with little to be desired and a tough place to get a decent night’s sleep. My recommendation is to not stay here unless you have no other options.

This was one of the worst hotels I’ve ever seen. Walking down the hallway to our room we knew it wasn’t going to be good. The carpet was horrible. The carpet in our room wasn’t much better. My wife was afraid to walk barefoot in the room because the carpet was so sticky. There was no microwave in the room as well as no WiFi. We couldn’t get the door to open to our balcony. I guess we weren’t expected to venture that far. I was told by the desk clerk there was no internet or ice machines in our building. On top of all this the building really smells old and mildewy. We will stay in Ft. Myers next visit rather than Casa Loma!

Room was $ 10 more than the online advertised price. Room was also right next to Del Prado Blvd and every vehicle was loud through the paper-thin walls. Wifi never worked on the 2 devices I attempted to use. Remote control for TV was broken. But the biggest problem for me was the airborne dust or some allergens in the room. The room must not have been used for some time(can’t imagine why!) and when I got in the room my nose became stuffed up, my eyes watered, my head and body ached, and I began coughing. I thought I was coming down with a virus because I had just flown in that afternoon and felt under the weather. I didn’t have anywhere near a good night’s sleep. I slept no more than 30 mins at a time, tossing and turning in between the hacking/coughing/sneezing and the traffic on Del Prado, which I discovered doesn’t slow down at all even at 4am. After I got up/gave up trying to sleep at about 7am I showered and left. No one dared ask how my stay was. I guess they knew already. But, as soon as I left that room, all my problems were gone. Headache gone, coughing gone, sneezing no more, nose cleared up. But now my voice is gone and hasn’t come back and it’s now going on 6 days since I stayed there. I’ve NEVER had issues with allergens in hotels before but I’m certain that something in that room was making me sick.

people were nice and hotel was good and all, came as advertised and all, was a little cheaper than the hideaway, but really doesn’t hold a candle to the hideaway… i compare it to the hideaway because the two are basically the same product. they’re both motels on a canal with a pool. the hideaway just has stronger character and more hands-on management. a perk is that the hotel is next to «The Dog,» a pretty quality bar/grill that had good action.

Ok, so my first impression was yuck! But, you have to dig a little deeper. For the price, this hotel is great! Most hotels in that price range are really skeevy and have«hourly rates». But, this one is pretty nice! I usually stay in hotels that are a little more updated and modern, but since this was a quick trip in to look at some property I was considering purchasing, I picked this place. First the negatives: It really isn’t updated at all… the bed is squeaky and a little uncomfortable, and the comforter is basically a colorful sheet. The TV is from the late 80s, and the décor is from the late 70s. Although the room was clean, it just didn’t appear super clean like it does in newer hotels. The tiles in the bathroom were a little cracked. The bottom floor unit that we stayed had a terrace that was right on the parking lot — just not very classy. And, as someone else mentioned, the canal needs a little«de-garbage-ing». The positives: I’m sure we got the lowest rate room because that is what we picked for the price — the efficiency. However, when you go on the other side of the hotel — WOW! There is a really nice, clean and warm pool surrounded by palm trees. There are plenty of lounge chairs to go around. Some of the upper(and lower) level rooms near the pool had a fantastic view. And the sitting area on the canal with the little Tiki hut is a super peaceful and serene place to read or snooze. Also, you really can’t beat the location — it’s right on Del Prado and close to everything. And comes with FREEWIFI! So, if the budget is tight, this really is a great place! If you can afford something a little nicer, then go that route instead. But, overall, it was a pleasant experience. I would go back again if taking a short trip and would recommend to friends also considering a short stay.

I give this motel three stars because I am very particular about cleanliness. Its a little rundown but I think that *could* be part of its charm, it could have a vintage 70’s feel. However with rust stains in the shower, grout needing fixing in the bathroom, and an old toenail cutting in the bedroom(that is not mine — yuck!) its just not as clean as I would like or expect. I have been here two days and had to call down to the front desk to make a request that housekeeping vacuum tomorrow since it has not happened the two days I have been here. I myself have made a point of wiping down the little table, the hair dyer, and the phone since they had grime/dust on them when I checked in. There is also trash floating in the harbor, marring what otherwise would be a gorgeous view. That is the bad. The good is that we have a nice view of the harbor, its close to lots of stuff in the Cape Coral/Ft. Myers area, price is reasonable, and the staff is nice. its quiet, the pool is pretty, and I like the kitchenette and the deck that comes with the room. I take away 1.5 stars for lack of cleanliness and .5 for the disrepair(stuff that could be easily fixed or upgraded, such as the aforementioned grout, lumpy bed pillows, and semi-scratchy sheets). None of this is enough to ruin my vacation visiting family in 73 degree weather right before Christmas but I would shop around if I were to make another visit to this area. If you are less hyper about things being spotless(I know I am hyper about this!) then Casa Loma might be a great choice for you.
