This place serves amazingly good food, and the service has been wonderful every time we have been(we have eaten here 3 times so far). It does take a long time to get your food, so be ready to actually talk with the people you are with, but the wait has always been worth it for my wife and I.

It’s OK. Expensive, but decent food. Nothing to write home about. Not quick service, but friendly. Seafood was fresh. Been there a few times, would go back.

We love this palce. we found it by accident and it is one of our favorite places to dine in Fort Myers area. The food is always fresh and tasty. we tried many things here and all are great. Love the sweet plantains and the Flan as well. I’m a great chief and know good food. in an area with not too many good choices this place stands out! When the check comes be prepared as I always think it’s way inexpensive for what I get…

Wow, i’ve lived in Cape Coral now for year and a half. We thought about trying this place but tonight we actually got there. I had the seafood paella, and my wife had the seafood soup. Portion wise I brought home enough that I think will make two more meals. My wife however greedily ate all the seafood from her soup and didn’t bring anything home. Sum it up to say this is now my favorite restaurant in Cape Coral. Food was amazingly delicious generous portions and really reasonable. Our first time but we will be back many more times to come. Our waiter, Reynato, was great and extremely helpful. My wife loves seafood but not so much fish. She told him and they left out the fish and put extra seafood in soup.

I was born in Peru, we asked for rice and seafood. Arroz con mariscos, not only not good but they got confused it was not Chinese fried rice! We ordered Jalea is was just ok, the marinated onions that came withe dish were not fresh. Tamal was not peruvian tamal, Service was poor, we waited forever to have our food and they gave me $ 49 short on my change!!! I had to call and ask for my money!!! Wouldn’t ever go there… food is bad… maybe if you hadn’t ever tried peruvian food… or bad luck the chef was sick or off…

Other than waiting almost an hour for our food which has never happened before(apparently they had a lot of to go orders), the food was fabulous as always… in fact it tasted better than ever! If we had to wait that long at anywhere else we would have gotten up and left.

First off I love Peruvian food and its my favorite and when I first moved down here from Jersey, this was home away from home. However, in the last three years the quality of service and food has gone down tremendously. Let just take the rice… arroz chafua, I mean how can you serve this with that boiled rice? Any Latino can tell you long grain Canilla style is the way to go. The texture of that rice they use is horrible and not appetizing at all. So there goes most of the Peruvian staples that are typically served with rice. Next, the pollo on the braza… what happened? I have ordered take out and to my surprise when I get home… a burnt chicken. I did complain and the chicken was free of charge on my next order. But it can be very inconsistent. Great tasty food one day. Half assed and not much thought another day. To tell you Pollo Tropical has replaced them in our home as far as chicken is concerned. Leche de tigre is still a favorite but just last Friday for the first time I couldn’t eat it… it was so bitter. Tsk Tsk. I want to love this place but as mentioned before inconsistent in all aspects. I did taste their new location of of cape coral pkwy and the service was horrible! So yea it okay for me but on a positive note I will have to say this place is better than the other Peruvian place in Cape.

Good experience, good food. Never eaten Peruvian food before. Friendly, helpful service. Enjoyed the seafood paella and beef/green spaghetti. Very large portions. Clean and comfy ambience. Would return periodically if lived in area for exotic menu.

We eat here about twice a month. I love the steamed seafood soup. Wife loves the shrimp fried rice. We get the same thing every time now. I got a beef plate dinner once and the beef was a bit dryer than I like but I think this is the tradition for the dish.

This is my favorite place to eat in Florida! It’s small and perfect. Family owned and always fresh. I highly recommend it. I bring everyone that comes to visit.

I love local joints. This place has great staff. I love getting little dish’s to snack on while you order and wait. The lunch deal cannot be beat. Great value! Our food was fresh and flavorful. Nothing seemed frozen or sub par.

I am truly surprised by some of the reviews here. I have been to this restaurant several times and each time have been completely impressed with the quality, value and most of all service. The servers are diligent, attentive and know the food well. There were a couple of bumps in the road each handled with grace, empathy and hospitable professionalism. Makes me wonder when people review about slow service if the place wasn’t packed to the gills like a great eatery often is. Papas a la huancaina, tacu tacu and the antichucos de Corazon, not to mention the sudado de pescado. And YES green spaghetti! Its a family place, the food is as fresh and as real as it gets. Go, enjoy!

Been living in Cape Coral for 4 months now and completely disappointed by the quality and selection of ethnic restaurants in Ft. Myers area. This is the first place I actually really liked. It’s authentic Peruvian food(at least based on my experience with Peruvian food in NYC). The owners and kitchen/wait staff seem to be Peruvian too(at least some of them), which is always a good sign ! They have photos and description of famous sites in Peru in the menu and on the walls– well done ! The TV is a nuisance(for practically any restaurant IMHO, unless a Sports bar), but seems to be the way of this day and age. Sangria wasn’t the best, but the food was excellent ! Will definitely go back.

So I read all these great reviews and had to try it. The shrimp stuffed in the avocado looked wonderful… what I got was anything but. Looked like they used a frozen vegetable mix of carrots, corn, peas and string beans and then a little bit of shrimp. Certainly wasn’t worth the price. I also tried the ceviche and it tasted very good. But six hours later when I was visiting the Banjo with stomach pains… I decided maybe it wasn’t as fresh as it should have been. Would I go back there again no…, sorry… maybe it used to be good but it certainly isn’t anymore. Very average.

We’ve never had Peruvian food before, so we were more than pleasantly surprised. We were served roasted corn kernels with a spicy dipping sauce that was awesome. I had sautéed chicken with a side of sweet plantains. The chicken was excellent, seasoned just right and sweet plantains are to die for. My dining companion had the sautéed shrimp and he absolutely loved it. Would have given 5 stars but the service was slow– our drink order was taken and took almost 10 minutes before received(no water on the table either). We will definitely be back!

A SADEXPERIENCE&VERYSLOWSERVICE I was actually the«First to Review» this place some two years ago and had a good memory of our time there. We have been looking forward to returning & even purchased a coupon in anticipation of the event. We arrived early(Florida style) on a Monday at 4:30 for dinner. We started with the Palta Rellena Camaron, which was avacado stuffed with shrimp. It was a huge helping, plenty for two as an appetizer, but the stuffing had very little shrimp, and instead contained an abundance of mayonnaise, peas, corn and carrots. The result was not impressive. For dinner we had the grilled chicken with salad and rice and the grilled pork chops with rice and beans. The meal was average. The rice was undercooked. Our appetizer arrived after 30 – 40 minutes and the actual dinner at 5:45. We had a Tres Leches for dessert & it was quite good. At 6:05 I asked for & received the bill, and gave the server the coupon. She said, sorry we can’t accept it after 6 pm. Huh? I’ve never run into this before, and we’d been there since 4:30. It was only after 6 due to their super slow service. She was steadfast and refused to accept it. We paid and left. Doubt we’ll be back. There are too many other good restaurants around, including Peruvian. El Gaucho Inca shall remain our favorite.
