Awful condition. Many greens were missing large chunks of green, fairways weren’t mowed and the famous island green is 60 yard chip shot. Slowest pace of play I’ve ever seen. Nearly a six hour round. Not a ranger to be found and the Pro Shop overcharged me.

This is NOT about the golfing. I could care less about the sport and would have nothing constructive to say. The grass looked nice. What do I know? I was only here to grab a salad and a drink. It was a Friday after work so went over to try it. I passed the place because it looks like a doublewide trailer with only a small sign. There were only a couple of people there and some dipped in and out while they were playing. I got a great drink from the bartender, Marae. She recommended a salad that she had for lunch. I went with a slightly different one, a grilled chicken and bacon salad in a tortilla. When asked if I wanted dressing on the side I said no. It looked fantastic when it came out. I immediately started scooping it from the bottom to get dressing all around it but it was already nicely set up for me. It was layered so nothing got soggy yet was the perfect amount to coat it. The chicken was perfectly grilled. The bacon pieces were about a ¾ inch square(?) and were crisp without being burned. I broke some of the tortilla into it and it was very airy. I was very full from this salad. Marae gave me a menu and I’ll go back to get stuff to go! Glad I didn’t experience the sleeping manager. :) Hopefully that person is gone because the food was great! Lots of seating & windows to see the course. Large bar.

Pros: course in great shape, was able to get out and play ahead of other golfers Cons: had a 7:12a tee time, but not able to get out til 7:40 because pro shop guy was late, 2 greens were not mowed/ready to play when I got to them, and they did not move or put the pins in.

I will not coming back. A friend and I came to play on a reservation made online(on bay pointe’s website… not a 3rd party). Was quoted $ 46 a person and noted on the reservation that we had planned to walk. When we checked in, we were informed that our tee time had been double booked and we were forced to pay $ 64 a man… apparently golf carts are required on weekends. Quite simply, the course does not honor the prices it quotes on its own website. Absolutely pathetic. I wish we had walked away then and there… but live and learn. Add in the following… there was no ranger despite slow play. The first green was all sand. The picturesque island green is actually 65 yard chip shot and the green is tiny and surrounded by mucky water. The members do not fix their divots. You got my 64, but will get no more… I hope others learn from my mistake and do not feel the need to repeat it.

This is a review of the restaurant which I had heard was remodeled and open to the public so I figured I’d tried out one late afternoon. Its nice and clean but has overheard flourescent lights which is more fitting for an church hall or Elks than a golf club. Hospitals are more warm and invtiting, they need to kill these and get some decent restauarant fixtures. I had the fish and chips and it was obviously frozen food service stuff but not good food service, Mrs Pauls is a few steps up, plus it was overcooked and dark brown. Surprisingly they actually close at 5pm so don’t plan on dinner here. I asked the grumpy barmaid why they closed so early and she said it was due to slow business. She was fast and effecient but clearly did not want to be there and was very brusque. I could almost read her mind(can’t wait until 5 when we can close!). Well, crummy, low quality food, unhappy help and décor courtesy of Boston Medical Center and its no surprise they have no business. In their defense, I guess its not a bad spot for a burger and beer after a round of golf. The menu is very reasonable as are the drinks. I would give it another try but don’t usually get out of work this early so I wouldn’t make it in time. They need a professional restaurant manager to put some effort in this and it could be a gold mine. 2 stars as its fairly new and it is cheap, otherwise a one star,

I played here yesterday with a large group — 16. They were ready for us and we tee’d off as scheduled. We didn’t have to wait at all the whole round. The course was in good shape. Clubhouse is large and clean. Huge bar inside and a snakc bar window out on the deck. Grabbed a hot dog after the first nine — $ 4.25. It was grilled which I prefer and huge so I wasn’t complaining. We were there for a bachelor party so they set us up with a clambake afterwards. Everything was awesome — lobsters, steamers, salad, chowder, potatoes, bbq chicken, cole slaw, corn bread and plenty of wet naps. Everything rocked. The chef and staff were all very friendly and helpful. I’d definitely play here again. Only complaint is they should get a beer cart girl. There was no ranger so this might be a problem on a crowded day with slow play. Fortunately we didn’t have any problems.

As a business owner, you either love and understand Groupon or you hate them. Quite honestly, either of those is fine with me… just don’t be a member of the minuscule 3rd group: those who use Groupon AND hate them. We had a tee time here late Sunday afternoon and told them while making the tee time that we’d be riding and using a Groupon. We arrived to find no carts left. No big deal, just give us a pull cart and we’ll call it even. No can do, they say… all out of pull carts. «Everyone came in with those stupid coupons!» the pro shop man tells me… then offers me a cart if I wait 2 hours to tee off. We elect to walk, and would have forgotten about everything if the course was nice. Unfortunately for them(and us), the course sucks so we were left with nothing but memories of walking 18 holes in six and a half hours because they let a zillion people on and being made to feel like a nuisance because we had the nerve to give them a try on a Groupon. If you paid regular green’s fees to play this course, call the police because you were robbed. What a dump. Do yourself a favor and play anywhere else.

Played this course with a coupon from Buywithme. The people there were extremely nice, the course was pretty well maintained though there were some burnt patches because of the lack of rain the area has seen this year. The signature hole is definitely the island green 7th. Not sure why they didn’t put it as one of the finishing holes but oh well. It’s extremely short but really fun to hit a half a dozen balls onto. The rates even without a coupon are really reasonable, I believe around 45 with a cart. The course is well bunkered and does not get boring. The par threes are all pretty challenging and the clubhouse has a full restaurant too. Definitely worth a day trip.
