I’ll give it two stars because yes, the frozen custard is very good and the portions generous. But what is up with the attitude of the older lady working the counter? Sorry to trouble you by patronizing your restaurant. Looks like other reviewers have had similar experiences. Hope the owner takes notice.

We walked down from our rental one Sunday afternoon only to find they don’t open until 3 on Sunday. Came back last night and it was open. Cute little shop with beachy souvenirs. Not overly crowded but it was a cool night so lots of families were playing mini golf. They offered 6 – 8 flavors of custard and lots of options for mix-ins, hurricanes(think Dairy Queen Blizzard), sundaes, etc. Husband and I both ordered hurricanes which were well-mixed. The custard was very good, creamy and thick. The reason for three stars: the customer service kind of stunk. No one else was ahead of us(or even waiting around us) and the cashier was pretty pushy for us to hurry up and order. I asked for descriptions of some of the flavors and was answered very gruffly, she was obviously annoyed by the question. Observing the interactions of kids and parents returning golf supplies confirmed the not-so-friendly environment.

Some good stuff right here! You can’t go wrong with any of it, really. We went three separate times in one week and played a round of mini golf. The locals were nice, the service was quick and obviously based on how many times we revisited this establishment, the custard was amazing! Anytime i’m back in the Outer Banks, I will be returning for you, Uncle Eddy!

How can you be so bitter while working at a sweet shop? The female cashier was miserable on both of my visits and not helpful. 3 stars is for the custard, it’s yummy but if there was a competitor I’d give them a try… Not a fan of handing money to people with an attitude.

I was served the slop from the bottom of the ice container. When I remarked that it looked a little runny the lady serving it said«oh it’s fine .just the end of it.» I tried one spoonful and threw it in the trash. I told the guy that took my order that it was bad and I had to toss it he just said«sorry». Lesson learned .if it looks like shit .it’s going to taste like shit.

We’ve been coming to the outer banks since I was 5 years old. Through the years lots of ice cream/mini golf places have come and gone. This place has been open for years and the ice cream is great. I only gave it two stars because the service behind the counter is one of the worst I’ve experienced. My family went in the other night and the woman taking the orders was yelling at the other employees which wasn’t a great sign. When she got to us she seemed very frustrated that we hadn’t made a decision yet as if we should have the menu memorized and every question was met with rude and nasty tone and remarks. I’d hate to see people stop going here because of her and I’m hoping that management makes some changes accordingly. Unless of course she is management and in that case maybe she will realize the error in her ways.

I understand it’s an outdoor event but the Mosquitos were off the hook and they had nothing going to help the matter, in additional while playing some of the holes, you had dodge over grown weeds and bushes. Very disappointed as we have been coming here for years.

I went two days in a row for a twist with sprinkles. Didn’t get the opportunity to play mini golf but the ice cream was great.

We had a lovely trip to get ice cream after a long day in the sun. I had the Mud Custard, chocolate with oreos. BF had the espresso chip ice cream. All was delicious And the staff was quick and friendly!

Older mini golf and ice cream attraction. The mini golf course is not much of anything. The path didn’t seem to be up kept and was kinda dirty. Bugs were everywhere. After being there I was covered with bug bites. Definitely not worth $ 8. It’s cheap but just not worth it. The gentleman working inside was nice. Told us we could stay as long as we wanted which was sweet. But just after one game and all the bites I was ready to head back home. They also have ice cream. We didn’t try anything but there were lots of flavors things to try.

It’s a nice place to sit in and hang out. The guy taking orders weren’t so happy… Didn’t use any gloves scooping them. But the custards tasted alright.

Delicious frozen custard and friendly service! My favorite place for dessert in the OBX. If you like chocolate, try the Kona Kick sundae.

Custard was eh… Service was horrible… I felt like I was being waited on by a member of the Sopranos. This guy must be trying to copy the soup Nazi… Custard Nazi. Dont support his business, go somewhere else where they appreciate your business.

Enjoyed my custard but the attitude from the guy behind the counter sucked. Wouldn’t go back. Didn’t seem to care how he treated the customers.

The ice cream was good and the staff was nice. The mini golf course left a lot to be desired, though. Many holes were very short, bushes were overgrown to the point they interfered with play, and a couple of holes had damaged greens. Come for the ice cream, avoid the mini golf.

Too keep it simple, they have select flavors they serve each day of the custard, so event though there’s a large list of flavors, there are only about 6 they make a certain day. The custard is quite good, refreshing, and creamy. I would recommend.

Came here with several of my beach buddies and highly recommended by a friend who comes frequents in and around this area. What they’re known for is their custard. and I LOVE some good frozen custard! You can get a max of two samples. I got a small cup(which is actually a pretty big size cup/generous two scoops of whatever flavor you like) for under three bucks which was a great deal. I got the White Forest which I think was milk chocolate, cherries, and coconut shavings and the Cashew delight. Both flavors were packed with flavor and well created. The only thing that i was surprised with is that this, in my opinion, is NOT custard. It had the texture and taste of ice-cream. Custard is supposed to be smooth and less dense than ice-cream and the flavors I got here were not that. But it was still some of the best ice-cream that I have ever had though. Def. recommend going if you’re ever in the area.

Came here while i was staying in OBX, we didn’t do the mini golf however it looked… interesting, mostly a kid thing really but i myself would not be a fan and if i did i would bring a big can of OFF for the mosquito’s. We went inside… nicknacks and an assortment of things are for sale inside along with the custard. Its kinda like going into your grandmothers house who has an unhealthy fetish for things made with seashells and glitter. As for the custard, it was very good, a bit pricy, but good non the less, a huge list of flavors and combinations. Huge sizes if you really need a sugar high. They have their own parking which is a plus. Check it out!
