I went here for a quick bite. There was a very relaxed atmosphere. I had the chorizo grilled cheese. It came hot and tasted very good!

This is my favorite place in the world to have brunch. Why? It’s tasty, the bartender is really nice, there’s never too long of a wait, the menu is simple, and it’s very affordable. Great neighborhood vibe. I always get the salmon and a bloody mary.

Love the atmosphere, great place to people watch. The staff are awesome, and the food is good(I recommend the avocado toast or almond croissant).

Why does this place have 4 stars ?? It’s the worst. The owner is a rude hipster who takes 40 minutes to bring over a plate of yogurt and then gets upset at you for following up. Get a better attitude or a faster yogurt pump or just shut down.

Are you looking for that perfectly Instagram-worthy piece of avocado toast? The kind that’s overpriced but kinda worth it because it’s so pretty and let’s face it — it’s what you’d actually want to eat for breakfast everyday anyway? Sunrise /Sunset definitely caters to that«cozy hipster nook» aesthetic — and I’m not gonna lie, they do it very well. The place is small but feels very open with big windows slowly spilling in sun, a wraparound bar with wood accents with a DJ set up in the corner, and clean white surfaces with slashes of pastel accents. The brunch menu is short and sweet — they don’t fuss around with super complicated dishes or extensive lists of entrees and sides. The food seems to focus on healthy but comforting dishes with a slight twist. If I’m paying $ 9 for a piece of avocado toast with eggs it better be a goddamn PERFECT of avocado toast with eggs. And lo and behold, I was not disappointed. My sunny side up eggs were cooked exactly the way I wanted and the toast was arranged beautifully on my plate with root veggies and pepitas. Other hits from the menu were the Salmon Tartine and the Brioche French Toast — all beautifully made with quality ingredients. Everyone seems to love the bartender — Sarah — and I totally see why. She was super attentive and sweet the entire time with a wry, slightly self– deprecating humor. She also let me use her IPhone charger when mine died — which gave her extra bonus points in my book. Do yourself a favor — get the Beet Bloody Mary. It is a work of art — the beet juice and pickled veggies plus that spicy kick at the end was phenomenal and something I would have never thought to create. And it’s $ 7 which is pretty fucking reasonable for a Bloody in NY. If I lived in the Bushwick area, I could see Sunrise Sunset becoming a go-to brunch spot for me. For those days when I want to feel a little fancy without totally breaking my bank, I’ll totally pay this place a visit.

Really delicious overpriced salmon/avocado on toast, if only the bartender would stop sending us nasty glares every 5 seconds and had this«I’m too cool» attitude(trust me she was not cute) and took forever to take our order, on top of that the place was pretty empty and had no atmosphere. whatever too bad because the food was good but I would never step back in there. Fail.

I’ve been coming to Sunrise/Sunset frequently for about a year now and love everything about it. Great wines and beers alongside nice quality spirits and great staff make this place super easy to hang out at. I always meet interesting people here and have yet to have a bad experience! Great backyard as well! See you there tonight?

let’s start with what works. potentially the only decent café in a couple blocks radius. the coffee is decent. here are the issues, the food is mediocre. salad dressing should be mixed not just balls of Dijon thrown on some spring mix. the food is in general a dollar too pricey for wht it is. the biggest problem is the attitude problem of the staff, specifically the two larger girls. not sure if it’s a bigger person hipster hating thing or what. but they are so rude to almost everyone. greedy tip hungry disgusting. giving a look for not tipping«enough». harassing people to buy things as soon as they enter. listening on people’s conversations and commenting. these girls should be fired or im not coming bck to s/s ever and im telling all my friends to go to lilskips

A fabulous local joint that’s good for good eats cold drinks and an affable, on-the-ball service staff. Sarah(redhead sorceress) made me something called the Beet Me To The Punch — think Bloody Mary meets borscht and gets pickled pink. Delicious AND nutritious. At the very least, delicious. My tip: get the black coffee(iced or hot) and the grain bowl with eggs and cheese. Filling without being heavy. Num.

Love this promising new spot! I personally haven’t tried the food yet, but I’ve heard wonderful reviews from friends who have. Pros: + Bright and airy during the day; cozy and«hip» at night + The Green Dream, a fantastic summer cocktail. The main mixer is cucumber juice, so it’s extraordinarily refreshing and unexpectedly«light» for a cocktail. It comes in a huge glass and is garnished with a cucumber slice and a sprig of fresh thyme. Amazing. $ 11 + Seasonal cocktail menu, but they show and continue to serve the previous season’s specialties(in case you want a cozy whiskey drink in the middle of July). All are around $ 11 – 12. + Happy Hour every M-F from 5 – 8. If I remember correctly, it’s $ 1 off well drinks(which are normally $ 6) and draft beer. + During the day, it’s a nice little café with outlets everywherrrrre. + Espresso is cheap! + Music is sometimes played off a record player. Most nights it is the perfect volume. Only once did I find it too loud. + Across from laundromat. :D + Great workspace at all hours of the day! Even at night, this place hosts multiple people doing work on laptops(accompanied with a glass of wine, or in my case, the Green Dream). Don’t be shy to come here on your own because it’s not at all unusual here. + Lots of seating at bar, several small tables for 2 – 3 people along the wall, large table in the back. Cons: — With the espresso, you get what you pay for. It’s cheap, but only mediocre in taste. — $ 15 minimum for cards :( — Air conditioning can be a bit strong. Find a table away from a draft and dress in layers! I will definitely update my review when I(finally) try the food! My roommate will not stop raving about it!

It’s my next door bar. I love Olivia, and the whole staff is like family. It’s basically my Cheers. It’s my go to constantly for cocktails to start a night, spend a night, or end a night. The gluten free/non organic fork comments on here are ridiculous, this is a neighborhood bar with some great food options. I highly recommend you stop in, stay, move in, and enjoy. The patio is delightful and the people are welcoming, I can’t say enough great things.

All three of those stars are for the menu and the space. The employees are wretched with the exception of the guy in the mornings. They never make you feel welcome even though the space is so inviting and comfortable. They even went as far as to ask my friend«why he comes in so much» and they’re really withholding about item modifications. The menu items are healthy and creative. Very filling and affordable. Great drink menu as well. Would recommend but be prepared to be disrespected by the emoloyees upon entering!

It took some warming up to but I can officially say that I am a fan of Sunrise/Sunset. This place is a block away from my apartment and right across the street from the laundromat. I used to hate doing laundry but at least now I can entertain myself at the bar in between. $ 5 Mexicali/Tequila combo. The Smoked Salmon Tartine is a refreshing choice, as is the Green Dream. I’ve had a few Green Dreams. I enjoy it here much more at night.

Friendly coffee shop with a limited but fairly creative menu — it’s a good neighborhood spot but probably not worth the trip otherwise. Food: Tasty but not a great value for the price. The menu was not objectively expensive but you do not get a lot of food for $ 8. That being said, the french toast was well prepared and very tasty. Service: You place your order at the bar and then they bring your food out to you. The server was friendly and the waits were not unreasonable. Ambiance: Sunday morning was pretty quiet and relaxed – a lot of people on laptops working away.

The staff are very welcoming and friendly, especially Sarah the weekend brunch bartender. I was lucky enough to order the last brioche French Toast with berries, it was delicious. Most importantly is their top notch absinthe selection; probably the only bar in Brooklyn who has Meadow of Love, for my absolute favorite cocktail, Death in the Afternoon. A new neighborhood favorite.

It’s a cute space, but a cute space that very much smelled like vomit when I was there. The food menu is a disappointment, the wine menu is whatever. 5 Stars for the gin fizz, –2 for the barfy aroma.
