Very helpful, great variety and knowledgeable staff

Over the past 30 years, Meadows Farms’ staff have always been very helpful and informative with my ever-​changing gardening needs and questions. I have many lovely features in my yard from Meadows Farms. On the occasion that one doesn’t survive, they have been happy to refund or replace the item, according to their return policy. I’m grateful to have them only 6 miles from my home!

I love this nursery! The people are friendly and so knowledgable. Their prices are super competitive and they have a great selection. It’s worth driving a little further to go here. Bravo!!!

we have shopped for years and years at Meadow Farms. They are always nice, polite, helpful and getting in and out is easy. The prices are better than other nurseries, although they don’t have everythiing like some of the über nurseries, the prices are reasonable and they now have a guarantee on plants. We traditionally go there first.

I stopped in here today with a list of 18 items my son had sent me after… I wasn’t familiar with these type of items (mulches, peat, worm casings, etc.). I had no idea where to find them, but Megan greeted me with a friendly smile and voice and volunteered to find everything for me and carry it all to the checkout. She explained the different types and sizes and we phoned my son for clarification. She and another employee carried everything out and loaded in my card. Great customer service!

I have been shopping for my plants and flowers at MF in Burtonsville MD for the past 18 yrs and have been overall pretty satisfied. They have I believe a British/​Scottish guy that attends to the plants and he is very knowledgable and helpful in selecting flowers/​plants. I will continue patronizing MF instead of the more impersonal Lowes/​Home Depot…

Good prices and wonderful selection. On several visits, I have received good planting advice from staff. My most recent purchase of a Japanese Maple is doing well. Staff is always very helpful loading things into car. It would have been 5 stars, but I think their cashiers need to be better trained – they seem to be younger and less experienced so I try to be patient with them.

My personal opinion is that the customer service is horrible. They did not appear to want my business so they won’t get it ever again. I came there on several occasions to purchase a tree to replace a tree I had removed. I need help in my specific needs but the woman who I was told was the manager did not appear to want to help. It was as if I was bothering her. I came back to see thinking she was having a bad day but her response to me was the same. The center was not busy and it was on a weekday mid morning. I am a preferred customer, but I realized it was only for PR! Meadow Farms in Burtonsville will not see me again!

Meadow Farms needs serious work on their customer service. Many of the workers outside don’t know what plans they have in stock, and are clueless about sales items. Inside, they are typically rude at the checkout.

Customer service needs improvement. On a recent Saturday, my gardener and I went to MF, arriving at 8 AM – the opening time posted on their gate and front entrance. They didn’t open until after 9 AM, leaving several customers waiting until 9:10 AM before they decided to open. I pointed out that they posted 8 AM as the opening time and should correct that if they weren’t going to open then. All I got was bad attitude. Young staff obviously didn’t care about customers. Did notice that the MF website has added hours for this location indicating that they open at 9 AM on Saturdays. Seems silly on hot summer Saturdays not to open earlier.
Manager Debbie Downs has always been most helpful and I’ve found their prices reasonable and they often have a good selection of plants on sale.

Customer service worst I’ve ever seen!
For rudeness at the checkout they rank #1! No help! No assistance! and No bother! …with customer.
Outside the guys are very helpful and they do have a variety of plants but not what you’d expect from professionals.
I’ve shopped at several Meadow Farms both in VA and MD and run into the same attitude in both the Stafford, VA store and the Burtonsville, MD checkout!

I’d check out any store but those! Not worth the rotten attitude at check out!

Manager Debbie Downs knows all about everything and if I need a particular plant, tree etc. I know that they will have what I need when nobody else has it. Great place just to wander about too. Extremely helpful employees.

Selection is great, Customer Service could be improved on. Prices in general are pretty good.

I’ve been shopping at this particular MF for about 2 years, with mixed results. I’d say I’ve had about a success rate with their products somewhere between 50 and 75%. Not horrible, not great. Their prices are fair, and selection usually is good. But today I went for herbs (advertised) and was downright disappointed. The herb pots were DRY. Pitiful. I think this summer I’ll be doing by gardening elsewhere.
