I must preface this Unilocal by stating that prior to running into Burlington MALL… I had just spent the entire night and day at the hospital with my Dad who is in Cardiac unit. So to put it simply… I looked like I just rolled out of bed and could use an expedited service thru the local car wash. My only reason for even showing myself in the mall that day was because my IPHONE had been acting up AGAIN! and of course the only place I could bring it to was you guessed the APPLE store. Due to my serious need of having a functioning phone with all the drama going on in my life, I could not last another hour with a phone that just wasnt working. BTW that will be my next Unilocal! I stroll into Lacoste and the FRIGHTENED sales associate seemed pleasant enough as I told her I was just looking. I walked right up to the mens sweaters picked out a couple and asked over my shoulder did she have these in size large. She immediately picked out what I needed in back stock and proceeded to ring me up. I am writing this to emphasize to all those retail sales associates out there… NEVER judge a person by what they are wearing or how badly they may appear. I spent a pretty penny that morning unexpectedly and Im sure the associate received a nice commission too! Upon coming home that evening I received a pleasant, well written email from the same associate. It felt genuine and as a small business owner I must say it left a great impression!

So Filene’s is gone and has been replaced with several new stores in the Burlington Mall. One of which is Lacoste. This is what my visit on Sunday morning/afternoon was like and I’m pretty sure yours will be like too. *Slight disclaimer, I was at the mall pretty early due to my car being serviced. Had to walk somewhere and with an impending male birthday gift pending it was appropriate* Doors open. I enter. Female folding sweaters does big HICAN I HELPYOUFINDANYTHING? wide eyes song and dance with me. Answer: «No thanks, I’m just browsing for now. I’ll let you know if I have a question though». Which is ALWAYS my standard response for these types. She then says«So are you looking for a gift»? To which I say«Really. I’m just browsing». Which OFCOURSE produces eyes brows up and big wide eyes. Cause I’m being the annoying one. THEN«Ok, well if you need anything just let me know!» and stands directly next to what I’m looking at folding sweaters. I go over to baby clothes… browse browse. I touch a striped sweater for a man. Before I even turn around«OOOTHATISLIKEMYFAVORITESWEATERHERE!»…browse browse, no response from me. I touch some V-necks. «Oooo I know those are men’s but like I bought one for bed and it is SOCOMFORTABLE»! This elicits an annoyed smile from me. THEN I see an actual shirt I like. I think, shit… I know I want this and it would make a good GIFT. I start to look through sizes…“Ooooooo what size are you looking FOR”? Me: «Size 8″. Well, do you mean like a normal XL or like a LACOSTEXL? Cause like MOST men will fit into a LACOSTE large when they are really an XL». Me: «Just an 8″. „Ok, well like I know already we don’t have any 8’s. I can order one from another store though and have it shipped to you for free“. Me: „I’m all set, I’ll just buy the next size up and we can return if need be“. „AREYOUSURE!!!“. Me: „ya“. „Really cause MOST guys wear a size DOWN“. Me: ‘Mmmm hmmm». Anyway, I finally get through the whole process of getting rung up and do my good byes and 100 thank you TOOOOOS!!! and get the F out. I’m sure they mean well, and they have the label you’re looking for, but the staff are SOANNOYING.
