If you didn’t get a chance to go to Graeter’s in Cincinnati, this is your last and final chance to try the raspberry chocolate chip.

Cincinnati is famous for cheese coney and Graeter’s ice cream. Arriving back at the airport after short one night stay in the area, I was sad I couldn’t try the famous ice cream(over 145 years of history for best handcrafted ice cream). I just had huge lunch, I was looking for bar to get a nice glass of wine. I was looking at the airport directory and saw«Graeter’s». My plan to get wine quickly changed and started cheerfully walking to the Graeter’s ice cream stand. They are located near the gate A11. I stood in front of ice cream for what it seems like a long time. I had to make the most difficult decision of the day. I was already full from lunch so I only have room for one kind of ice cream. Chocolate chip or raspberry… I chose chocolate. For the next 30 seconds while I was eating my ice cream, I was in heaven. I fell asleep shortly after I finished eating my ice cream. I call this food coma. Good thing I was sitting at my gate A11. I woke up to noise of fellow passengers. No trip to Cincinnati is complete without Graeter’s ice cream and they have a small kiosk at the airport terminal. Great way to end trip to Cincinnati!(Technically I never went to Cincinnati Ohio as I stayed on the Kentucky side). I highly recommend setting alarm clock before opening ice cream. It’s that good and you may fall asleep like I did.

It is great to see this outstanding franchise doing things to enhance its brand. The Graeter’s shop in terminal B is a must visit arriving or departing for CVG. The guy working there,(Aaron) was great and friendly. I know Kathy(the CEO/owner of Graeter’s) would be proud of the shop and staff.

I’m not sure what effect the pricing for parking at the airport should have for a review of this kiosk at the airport, but apparently it’s important enough to affect it. I’ve been a fan of the ice cream for years. I’ve mail ordered it and had it shipped overnight across country. Not cheap. I made a special effort to go through Cincinnati when it was a major hub because there was an ice cream case in the back corner of a news agent in the back corner of the terminal. Now, it’s available at my local Kroger owned food store and there is a real kiosk that’s easy to find. That’s all good. I’m a big fan.

I just love Graeter’s Ice Cream! I love it even more that there is a kiosk in the Cincinnati Airport, so I can get a mini serving for my flight back home. It is the one thing that makes my travel to the Cincinnati area worthwhile.

***There is a lot of advertising throughout Cincinnati /Northern Kentucky International Airport(CVG) promoting this Graeter’s, which is in the United terminal; it is not really a shop though but just a kiosk selling packaged sweets and packaged ice cream in single servings or as ice cream sandwiches; the variety is not that great; I believe most of the flavors offered here can be found at Ralphs grocery stores in California; you really need to visit one of Graeter’s standalone shops in Cincinnati to get the full experience*** This Graeter’s is located past security so it is only open to air travelers. I am not sure what the parking situation is at CVG, but I imagine parking is expensive like other airports.
