Okay — I’m self-admittedly a pizza snob raised in NYC and NJ. If you are not one, then disregard my review. If you are looking for pizza similar to what we have back home — then read on. The pizza is made with good quality ingredients — sauce, cheese, toppings were all solid. The Achilles heel of this pizza is the crust. It is or is similar to Greek style pizza with a hard anemic crust. Unfortunately the crust kills it so that is why I must rate it a 3. Additionally, a large pizza is on the small side.

Famous is perfect for fast take out or dine in. These guys have been around for a while and I can’t speak highly enough of them or the food. Pizza is wonderful and subs are great.

The food is pretty average BUT the prices are very good AND the staff is always very pleasant. Been going there for about 10 years now.

I really like the pizza and steak and cheese subs at Famous Pizza. So, perhaps my mistake was ordering a bacon burger from a place called«Famous Pizza»? Perhaps they were just having a bad day? Either way, the bottom bun of my burger was stale and as hard as a rock. It seemed like it had been left out on the counter for a few days, at least. I am not exaggerating when I say it was as hard as a rock. Sadly an attempt to toast it was also made, but the bun was cold, so it was that way before they even tried. The top bun was very dry, and stale as well, but salvageable, only because it was lunch time, and I was hungry. I couldn’t complain because I got take out. I’m generally generous with my stars on Unilocal reviews, but I can’t forgive the bun I was served my burger on.

Good and cheap Italian subs. They also have Pizza, Gyros, and other standard Italian fair.

Cheap and fast sub shop, thats what gets my 2 stars… otherwise quite underwhelming. I just started working in the area recently and am looking for a gem close by… this is not it. I tried it twice, in case I had ordered the only bad thing on the menu, but was unfortunately not the case. First time I had the greek salad. It was a box full of iceberg lettuce with 2 slices of cucumber, 1 olive and a scoop of stale dry feta. The dressing was from a bottle and did not taste like greek… just some yellow sweet sauce with herb dots. Second time I got the italian sub. You’d think for a sub shop that at 11.45am their bread would be super fresh… mmmm think again. Bread was chewy, and not in a good way, the meat was not freshly cut and you could taste it(really thick slices) and the cheese was very unsuperior(had to take the cheese off to finish my sandwich). I think I have given up on this place and am moving on to look somewhere else!

Talk about fast! I hav a strict ½ hour for lunch break. I kid u not, I came in, ordered a sub, paid for it, turned around and walked to a table to sit and wait, b4 I could sit down the food was ready. And this was in a crowded lunch time atmosphere. The prices are extremely reasonable. I have been promoting this place big time to my co workers and anyone in the area who is lookn for a good meal. And the food is tasty to top it all off!

I’ve been ordering take-out from nearly every place in Burlington for 10 years now. Famous has, hands-down, the best prices! The food I ordered was wicked good & was ready quickly. A few suggestions {to draw in more customers}: 1) a website w/a menu & online ordering capabilities(search Pizza Works from Burlington). 2) a more visually appealing menu… get your customers to drool over the pictures & you’ll sell more food. Overall, a must try!

This place is what I would consider a diamond in the rough. I came here based on the constant recommendation from a lot of my coworkers; they said the subs were amazing. I ordered the pizza and when I had it, it was awesome. If I had known about this place sooner I would have ordered from here ALOT more often.

Love this Place. Great Family! Great Family Owned Business. Super Inexpensive, Fresh, Fast, and no frill dining room. Perfect place to «hide away» at lunch. The folks that work at Famous are great and the dining area is very«dive» like, adding to the endless charm and great service in this little Greek deli. Please don’t expect 5 star food, obviously it’s a lunch shack!

Did I just order off the kid’s menu? I ordered a turkey and cheese sub from this place. I kid you not, they must have put this sandwich in a hotdog bun. It can easily be demolished in less than 12 nibbles or 2 bites(one nibble= 6 bites, it’s science). I was still extremely hungry after this less than spectacular sandwich. I wonder if I’d come back if they put up a BYOB sign(bring your own bread)?

Great food, reasonable price, quick service. Eat in or take out. This family owned Greek pizzeria knows how to make things so they taste good. It’s your typical pizza joint seating up front with about 4 tables. There is a back room that has many more table sif you bring a few people. I usually run in here for takeout however. I occasionally eat in on lunch break and find that a great experience even by myself. I actually prefer the Pizza here to Flat Bread next door.

I love the Salad’s here, who would ever have thought tuna and feta would go together… Delic. Great spot to grab food and run back to the office. Be prepared it’s like the soup nazi in there, but that’s what I love about Famous. It’s wicked fast and pretty cheap and tasty too! I recommend calling ahead — Don’t lose your number though he gets angry. Also the Barklava is pretty darn tasty and just ouie gooey enough to make me happy.

Get ready to shoot out your order quickly… and bring your catcher’s mitt to catch the food coming at you. This pizzeria is a family owned pizzeria, of which, you’ll see the same faces working there day in and day out. There is a small dining room where you order, but go into the room next door for a larger dining room with more comfortable seats. At lunchtime, this place is always busy. Prices are reasonable… and while their subs aren’t the biggest ones in town, they’re toasted and good… most of the time. :) Their pizza, while maybe Famous, is pretty typical of New England Pizza. Thin crust with plenty of grease. The Onion Rings and Fries are very good. My fave sub being the Steak N Cheese. It’s not great… but definitely good.

Just an FYI: It’s take out only. One of the old school family owned pizza and sub shops. Greek style pizzas which I am not a big fan of but the subs are decent and the price is right. The salads are fresh and generous. Fans of Subway, if there are any, will not like this place.

The pizza is very good, the price is reasonable, and as one of the other reviewers said, they are damn fast. But be prepared when you walk in there to know what you are going to order. Think something along the lines of the Soup Nazi. During lunch rush, if you are holding up the guy taking the orders you may not have a pleasant experience. But in general I am a fan of forcing people to have their stuff ready to go, so it’s a positive. Phone orders are a little fun too — the guys I’ve talked to on the other end of the line don’t seem to be very good at speaking or understanding you, so it will be a little adventure. Good place all in all.
