We had a great party at the Alibi. Arty(the owner) was really easy to work with. We Facebooked friends, brought in a one man band, snacks from Costco… We didn’t «reserve the space» so there was no fee. The«regulars» at Alibi are always friendly and blended in with our group. Everyone had a great time. It is a nice bar, It feels open with the outdoor patio area, there’s a pool table if you want something to do. Enjoy!(thanks arty!!) Karen and Frank

Exactly what a dive bar should be. Juke box and cool staff. People drinking more than they should. If this place would only lose the neon signs and embrace being understated, it would nail it.

Slow for a Saturday night, but still enjoyed my beer with my girlfriend. Good tunes playing, but not too loud where we couldn’t talk. Would stop again if I was in the area.

The Local Joint. I’ve always been welcomed with open arms, per se, and know most of the regulars. Great place to imbibe for an evening. Don’t forget to tip your bartenders.

The Alibi is a neighborhood bar in downtown Burlingame, near Burlingame Avenue. Burlingame Avenue has been a mess of construction for at least a year, so they can upscale it with marble bricks laid into the road, and make the sidewalks wider for strolling by turning the former diagonal parking into parallel parking. What the B’Game city fathers are doing seems a bit contrived though. Maybe they are trying to get more Hillsborough residents up the hill to linger longer. Alibi is on Lorton, just a block off Burlingame Ave. It has a parking lot across the street. Inside, above the bar, is a cool mural that mimics the view of the bar and establishment. The many personalities painted on this mural are famous people from Movies, Music, to Cultural and Political Influences. If you go in, see if you can name them. If you have memories or knowledge of the 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s, and know classical as well as other genres of music, and key movements of the 20th century(non-violence, women’s) it will help. They have a pay pool table in the right side room, a standard 3.5×7 table, but with better tools than the nearby Steelhead Brewery’s missing pieces, even if the table is much smaller. Only $ 1 per play. There is one of those flat and upright juke boxes, sort of like Vending Machine meets juke box, with some old school sounds to match the Mural, too. We were there to shoot a little stick and sip a drink, and the bartender was very accommodating, very nice, even gave us a free play on the table. It was a school night in this sleepy bedroom community, so there was hardly anyone there.

THis place doesn’t have a happy hour but its a great place to go in the midweek. Came here on a Monday it wasn’t very packed but the crowd was great. THey gotta great jukebox from r n b, to great classic badass rock, to some badass gangsta rap tunes. I’ve met some good people here and my beer has always been nicely chilled. THey also have a pool table here. ITs a pretty good dive bar.

My favorite dive bar in the 650! Great place to grab a drink after work with my co-workers, or enjoy a game of pool with some random burlingame locals /weirdos. The owner has been nothing but nice every time I’ve gone… Overall, love this place.

If you go to this bar keep and eye on your stuff, I have had multiple items stolen out of this bar on various nights. I swear when I find the person responsible it will be vigilante justice.

The Alibi offers more than the other local bars. Whether you fancy a game of billiards, there’s a great pool table inside. The outside patio area is awesome to catch up with friends with a smoke and drink. TV for sports. Happy Hour. This is the go to bar of Burlingame.

Good crowd, even better bartenders, decent pool table, and a solid jukebox. My type of bar.

Digity-digity-DIVE. Listen, I’m all for a dingy dive bar but this place smells funnier than you’d expect and the clientele is… uh…“interesting” to say the least. They’ve got a few beers on tap, Anchor Steam being one of course, which will keep me temporarily happy any place. Unfortunately, other than that and a few seats outside, it doesn’t have much else going for it.

Alibi is an ok bar. Has a patio with heater in front for smoking. One plus is the pool table. Owner must be obsessed with James Dean with posters everywhere. If no ones in paddy flynns I’d go here. Other than that it’s not that special.

The Alibi… your standard dive bar… the smell of dried-up beer, clouds of cigarette smoke outside, jukebox and loud music, a decent pool table, the home of a bunch of locals & regulars, and 2 solid bartenders(Arnie & Matt, even though Matt just moved!)… you might be disappointed depending on your expectations but if you’re looking to grab a couple drinks, bump some jams, and shoot a little pool… the Alibi wont let you down. Like any bar you go to enough, you’ll have some good times as well as some bad times, but through it all… the Alibi has treated me good! Get to know Arnie, he’ll take care of you.

This place was fun because of the music– jukebox and my friend’s coworkers. They were there to have a good time and that was super contagious with people that were there. Parking is plentiful here. The ratio is mostly guys and it gave that sports bar feel. There is a lively smoking area in the front of the bar, some TVS inside, and a pool table. OMG the bathrooms were disgusting. UGH. They really don’t care about customer’s sanitation.

Pretty standard dive bar. Came here around 7pm on a Friday with a friend. Cheap on tap beer — yah! The anchor steam was tasty! I don’t remember a huge selection but it was fair and cheap. Friendly, chatty but not too so bartender — awesome. He pushed a little for us to buy another drink and stay. Not sure if he was just being fun, interesting or wanting the tips. Standard bar set up, pool table, fun tunes and an overall comfortable feel. Not super clean feeling but it was standard. Though I don’t have a lot to say, I’d totally come back and would sure enjoy it. It was a super comfortable spot to come, hang out and enjoy some good company.

Just like Jon F. said, if you’re a Burlingame grad, you’re sure to bump into at least one person you know. Tru dat! This place certainly has a hole-in-the-wall’ish feel to it. Well, by Burlingame standards anyway. ;) Actually, I don’t think it can be classified as a hole-in-the wall(that spot is reserved for Mannions; anyone remember that place?!). This is more of a neighborhood kind of joint. I came here the other night after a few drinks over at Hola. I never walked inside because we snatched a table outside on the little(and I mean little) patio. It was a great place to sit and drink for a little bit. Cold beer + old friends = fun times! P. S. To the guy in the green t-shirt that went to boarding school in Pebble Beach(I heard your convo): I know I kept staring at you, but I promise I wasn’t trying to pick you up or anything. And yes, I noticed the wedding ring. It’s just that you looked SO damn familiar and I kept trying to place your name. We smiled at each other on your way out and I was just about to say, «Don’t I know you?», but that would have sounded like a total line so I just let it go. :) But man, I just know we know each other.

Went here with a bunch of friends for Fat Tuesday and it was packed. I’ll even take a neighborhood run by this place and there’s always at least a couple people hanging out. I wouldn’t really call the crowd easy on the eyes or easy on the nose. If you appreciate clean surroundings, and fresh air this may not be the place for you.

Well Sunday through Thursday this is the place to go. Friday-Saturday sucks. Old people that don’t give a F. –Check Crappy Songs/Same Songs playing on the Juke box. — Check Smoking area is smaller than Handicap bath room. — Check 40 people in the entire place touching elbows — Check Random Drunken stories from someone you never met. — Check Waiting longer than 5 mins for a beer on Fri/Sat. — Check Not knowing what type of crowd this bar caters to — Check This place is my default bar to go to, its always cool when you go with friends just to un-wind or to grab a quick drink. Bar staff is super friendly and will always have your back if you need a ride. Bar Speciality drink: Staff Meeting. Jäger and Rockstar in a double shot glass. They have the cheapest drinks than any other bar within walking distance.

Alibi is a great place if you’re friends with the bouncer, 19 years old, and want to try to avoid the cops that do drivebys here. Because you’re just so fucking cool like that. Oh, and if some old guy buys you a drink, when you put the lime in the Corona put your hand around it, because I accidently squirted him in the eye with lime juice and promptly left to the patio with the rest of my friends. Note to self: if you’re going to say you’re 24 and act like you’ve been going to bars for a while, learn how to put a lime in a Corona bottle.
