Dr Surh and her staff were extremely helpful and generous with their time. Over the course of a few weeks they helped with an eye exam, helped me explore other contact options (was having issues with the current ones), helped me choose a new pair of glasses with better frames, helped me adjust the glasses and all while very patient and kind. Highly recommend Dr Surh.

Dr. Surh is such by far the most comprehensive optometrist I’ve encountered — friendly, professional, and provided me with extremely detailed consultative feedback during my exam. The assortment of frames was a added benefit and was even more pleased that there was no air machine (that dreadful burst of air I’m subjected to)!
The reception staff was professional and courtesy. I highly recommend becoming a new of Ideal Eyes.

Today was the first time I had ever been to Ideal Eyes on Burlingame Ave. — and it was the best eye exam experience I’ve ever had… I am not exaggerating!
The location is perfect, the shop itself is clean and inviting and the receptionist and Dr. Gloria Surh are wonderful.
The best part, which I have never experienced before, was one doctor working with one patient. There was no line, there was no waiting, it was wonderful.
Dr. Surh listened to what I wanted and we went from there! I left feeling that I got exactly what I asked for and needed for my eyes.
On top of all that, I was in and out in 30 minutes (for a full exam and prescription fitting not including dilation) and never felt like I was rushed at all.
This will definitely be my eye doctor going forward and I will recommend her to everyone I can!

I came in to have two pairs of Oliver Peoples glasses repaired — one I sat on and one I flattened from falling on a bolster during yoga. The crew in the shop were fabulous — great customer service. Repaired my glasses with no questions asked and they did a phenomenal job making my glasses look brand new! It took about 5 minutes. They were great.

My family and I love Dr. Surh. We were patients of her’s when she was at a different location which was much closer to us than her new office, but we gladly make the drive to Burlingame to see her. Dr. Surh is easy to talk to, knowledgeable and incredibly sweet. She is also wonderful with kids and takes time to explain everything in terms they will understand.
My kids (10yr & 7yr) actually get excited about having their eyes checked and getting new glasses. The office staff is so friendly and helpful! They have a wonderful selection of glasses and take our insurance (VSP). This place is a win all around!

Dr. Surh and staff are so wonderful! Me and my 6 year old son both went for appointments and her humorous fun attitude was really what we needed. My son loved her and she was extremely good with him. We have found our go to place for our yearly eye exams/​glasses. Thanks for the great service and wonderfully convenient location. I will tell everyone I know to go here.

Dr. Gloria is great. I scheduled an appointment for an eye checkup. She was fun to talk with during the checkup. Friendly staff, great doctor. Highly recommended!

Service with a smile. This is a small, but full service optometrist/​optician. I was greeted and helped promptly… my glasses are on order and the memories of the horrible service I got across the street at Burlingame Optical are a thing of the past.

Today was my first time here and I couldn’t be more satisfied with my experience. Dr. Surh and the staff are so sweet! My exam was quick yet very efficient and none of the ladies seemed to be annoyed that I took forever to choose a set of frames. I am very glad I found this place and I will definitely be back!

The selection is wonderful and the service is without parallel. They stayed until 10 PM to receive a delivery so I could have my glasses for a vacation. Truly outstanding — highly recommend

Dr. Surh and Jean are the best. They were very helpful in explaining to me my eye prescription. You won’t go wrong in coming here. I highly recommend them. Excellent customer service.

I rarely buy glasses, given that I mostly wear contacts. So, my rare eyeglass purchases are pretty meaningful and important to me.
My experience at Ideal Eyes exceeded my high expectations. The selection was great: conservative to funky; medium prices to expensive. The service was awesome: patient, helpful, great advice, and they were highly consultative. I felt they truly listened.

First and foremost — NO EYE PUFFER MACHINE! How could you not love this place? I don’t know what those machines do but Dr. Gloria doesn’t subject her clients to that awful thing!

Nancy greeted me at the front and was so helpful with selecting frames. Dr. Gloria came in with a great attitude and personable vibe. I had lots of questions and she was super helpful with explaining my options.

I’ve been searching for the right pair of glasses for months now. I walked by and found this cute place. As soon as I walked in they welcomed me with smiles. They gave me some time and space to look and try on whatever I wanted without watching me like a hawk, as I’ve experienced at so many other places. They then asked what I was looking for and were so helpful in helping me try glasses that I wouldn’t have picked on my own. I felt so comfortable and was able to finally find a pair of glasses that I love. I’m definitely going to make Ideal Eyes Optometry my place for all my vision needs. Thank you for being so nice and helpful!

Honestly, I have never been to a better eye place before. I have had trauma in my eye and so I go to the eye doctor a lot (three to four times a year!), this was by far the greatest experience I have ever had.
Gloria was so helpful, warm and genuine. She made me feel comfortable and was completely open to me just using old frames with new lenses.
Her place is very clean, but did not have the look or feel of a doctor’s office! The best eye doctor with the best glasses around!

Great experience. My wife and I stumbled upon this place after lunch one day. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. The store is really nice too.
We scheduled a time to get our eyes checked. The exams went smooth. Dr Surh was fun to talk with which also made it a great experience.
I had to order some replacement lenses. The company they ordered from got back logged which caused a delay. They were very nice to let me know what was going on and even gave me a discount to make up for it.

I came here (with a prescription) after losing my glasses. The ladies here helped me pick out a new pair that I absolutely love. They have a really great selection of quality frames.
Soon i’ll bring in my favorite sunglasses to get prescription lenses, and probably buy them a new friend. ;)

I have been seeing Dr. Surh for over 4 years and I will NEVER LEAVE HER. She is talented, funny, kind and intelligent. GIRL HAS IT ALL! She is super easy to talk to and makes the entire process of getting your vision checked painless. She thinks of all the little things too like when my husband and I come in together for our appointments, she alternates who gets our eyes dilated so one of us can drive home. She always explains the procedures and answers all questions at a layman’s level so I can understand. I moved from SF ages ago but traveled from San Jose just to see her, that’s how good she is.
I’m happy that she has her own practice now that is (slightly) closer to my house!
