A terrific experience ordering an arrangement for a funeral. Easy to order online, really good prices(I looked at every florist in Alexandria/Springfield area!). They not only confirmed my order but sent me a picture of it before it was off for delivery. It was timely delivered-I received an email telling me so and it was gorgeous when I saw it in person. I will use Flowers ‘n’ Ferns again. Appreciate the terrific service and product. Thank you!

I have worked with Larry and Flowers and Ferns for many years. The flowers have always been fresh and beautiful. My sorority needs a specific flower, pink tea roses and we always get them from Flowers and Ferns. Recently, I had an unfortunate occasion where I had to purchase flowers for a dear friend’s son’s memorial service. I had no idea what to order as an altar flower to accompany an urn. Larry’s daughter(forgot her name, sorry) was patient and wonderful assisting me with the decision even though it was very close to closing time for the shop. The flowers arrived at the funeral home on time and they were absolutely beautiful. Please use this florist for your floral needs.

Flowers n Ferns donated flowers to my 30th High School Reunion and they were GORGEOUS. A big shout out to a florist with class, a beautiful product and a heart!

Once again you have exceeded our expectations. The flowers were just beautiful and everyone complimented us on how the table arrangements made the whole occasion. Everytime I think about sending flowers I call you first. Couldn’t be happier.

My father wanted to do something nice for my wife. He’s a senior citizen with limited mobility and a fixed income. He still drives to brick and mortar businesses with the intent of finding good olé fashion quality goods and service. He stopped in to this small family business to find a nice arrangement for my wife. He was serviced by a nice staff member. The arrangement was completely wrapped in tissue. He drove it out to our home(10 minutes away) and personally delivered it to us. The flowers were already wilted. It was a simple arrangement with a few stems of dead flowers. I am not kidding on this one. My wife contacted the company. They tried to fix the problem by giving us pointers on how to ‘perk up the flowers’ or asked us to bring them arrangement back. Unfortunately the ‘perking’ did not work, and we both work and could not find time to drive to the florist. The next morning, our window sill was infested with ants. I’m not sure how this could happen. We had to make an appt with our pest company to come out and fix this situation. The arrangement is now unfortunately sitting on our deck with ants surrounding it.

The 1 star is for the wonderful woman who tried to appease me with some advice on bringing my ‘dead on arrival’ snapdragon back to life… simply ‘cut the stem and put it in cold water. Yup, just received the flowers today, and because the person who brought me the flowers did not have his A/C on, then the 10 minute drive from the shop to my house caused these flowers to wilt away… I’m sure it’s not the quality of the flowers, right, it’s the limited budget of the giver and the lack of A/C in his car. Why is it, these small businesses never take responsibility for their fails… My initial call was to a gentleman who offered to help if I drove to their shop to return my flowers… seriously, I am the recipient of this gift and I have to drove my from home so they would see the flower. I sent them an email with photos, and waited for their solution which is stated above. This entire process took an hour of my day. I think instead of blaming a person’s limited ‘budget’ and lack of A/C, this small business should take some responsibility and try to service their customer with better quality flowers and solutions.

Two days before prom my son tells me he’s now going with a date. I thought getting a corsage with such short notice would be impossible. Not so for Flowers ‘n’ Ferns. The gentleman who answered the phone said, «No problem!» He was very kind and helpful. I wish I had taken a picture of the corsage because it was really beautiful. They used small, red roses with baby’s breath perfectly placed between/around the roses. The perfect amount of pretty green leaves accented the flowers, and the ribbon was the exact color I asked for. After looking at the corsages of other girls in the group, I have to say the one made for my son’s date was much nicer. The others just looked really big and gaudy, especially on skinny wrists(oh to have skinny high school wrists again!). A corsage is supposed to be a nice accent to her outfit, not be the centerpiece. I don’t know if this is how other places make corsages or if that’s how they were ordered. Either way, it really made me really appreciate the size and look of the one they made for my son’s date. The girl who was there when I picked up the corsage was pleasant as well. They have certainly won over my business for all future flower needs.

My husband ordered a very large White and Pink Roses arrangement for me for Mother’s Day this year. It arrived on time, however, when I opened the paper we discovered that several of the pink roses were brown and dying. My husband phoned the shop and explained the problem. He was told that they would replace the arrangement on Monday 5÷11÷15. When they did not turn up, he called late Monday and was told that the flowers would be delivered by Tuesday 5÷12÷15. No flowers ever arrived. We will not use flowers ‘n’ ferns on Old Keene Mill Road in Burke, Va again! H. Heim.

The staff is wonderful and unflustered by last minute prom, homecoming, and girl scout event requests. All of my last minute requests have been filled while I wait and the shop is packed with other people. All of my preorders were ready on time and as ordered.

I hav’nt bought flowers there, but they have great unusual items for gifts. I saw crazy unique tea pots and little ceramic jewelry boxes that look like decorated birthay cupcakes with a candle on top. When push a button, it plays the«Happy Birthday» and the candle lights up, then, when you blow on it, the light at the top of the candle goes out! I gave it to an adult friend and another friend’s child was delighted to get one for her birthday. I’d forgotten that I meant to go back there just to see what else they had — just got busy.
