Maurice Berkowitz, M.D

What can I say about Dr. Berkowitz? I love him!
Nobody wants to get cancer and nobody wants to have chemo! But if you have to endure these things Dr. B is the BEST oncologist! He is kind, caring and understanding! Makes you feel at ease, makes you feel like a friend! I really dont think I would have made it through my treatments with out his compassion and reassurance!

Dr. Berkowitz is amazing! Words can not describe the compassion, care and attentiveness you will feel and that he will give. He is very personable and genuinely cares about his patients. Through my own ordeals, Dr Berkowitz is always caring, concerned, and went over and beyond to make me feel comfortable and cared for. He’s so so smart and explains everything going on in a way you understand it. He is also so patient! He also provides several options and the reasons for those options clearly! God bless you, Dr. Berkowitz! Highly recommend and if I could give 1000 stars– I would!

Dr. Berkowitz is a compelling positive influence on those if us going through a terribly difficult time. He listens carefully, and explains different treatments. He treats patients as if they are intelligent human beings. He stays current on the latest research and will keep you informed if there is something new available, even when he doesn’t recommend it. I started seeing a different oncologist at the beginning of my treatment, but this first doctor never saw me when I went in for my chemo treatment. (When I insisted on seeing him, he said, «Why am I seeing you?») I switched to Dr. Berkowitz as soon as i could change insurance carriers (switched to Anthem Blue Cross PPO.). Wow– what a world of difference! I’m soooo glad I made the change! Dr. Berkowitz is really amazing. I have had a few bumpy experiences with his staff– he switched offices, and then they switched tech systems, and there was some miscommunication due to these changes. I get the feeling that these problems will be less frequent as they settle into their new system. I may not know how well they are doing, since I have no more breast cancer and only have to see him occasionally for monitoring. Thank you Dr. Berkowitz!

From walking into his office till I left, I was taken care of well. I was offered a beverage while I waited. Then when I saw the doctor, we had a great connection over our love of boxers starting from his boxer bobble head on his book shelf. He took his time and gave me his opinion on what I should do looking at the future and I will take him up on the offer. Glad I’m well connected.

Not too shabby! It definitely is kind of a pain to get an appt here… I called WAY in advance… but they saw me immediately and Dr Berkowitz talked to me in his office for a while. He didn’t seem rushed and was very nice and informative. I liked his nurses a lot, too. They drew LOTSA blood (painless) and seemed happy to be employed. I do feel like anything at Providence has a very «corporate» medicine for the masses feel as opposed to the vibe at Cedars. But hey, they took my insurance so I walked out with a smile on my face and a cotton ball taped to my arm.

I’ve been seeing Dr Berkowitz for the past 2 years and have nothing but great things to say about him and his staff. The staff really gives each patient personal attention and are very attentive as well! Dr Berkowitz has kept a very close eye on me during my pregnancy which makes me feel much better and less stressed. Besides his professionalism he has a great optimistic attitude and would highly recommend.

This Doctor has the absolute WORST office staff! I called 5 times over a week and half to get them to call me back for an appointment, then the actual appointment takes another 2 weeks. I’ve been there over 5 times and had problems every single time. There is so much confusion and disorganization. They don’t even know what tests were ordered or what procedure I was told to have done, or what is the reason for my visit. The phone is often answered «HOLD». What kind of business answers a phone «HOLD»??? I wouldn’t recommend this doctor or staff to anyone.
