Jose Luis Hernandez, MD- Premiere Medical Center

I was assigned to Dr Jose Luis Hernandez when I was admitted to Burbank Healthcare and Rehabilitation after my knee replacement surgery. I was admitted on a Friday. It is now Friday again and I still haven’t seen this doctor, although I have been told that he has been to the facility multiple times in the week I have been here. On Monday one of the Nurse Practicioners from his office came by, and was surprised to hear Dr Hernandez hadn’t been by. I had learned the skills necessary to return home in the first couple of days. On Wednesday my caregiver went to Dr Hernandez’s office with a request that he release me. I also talked to the other NP from the office, who wrote discharge planning orders. She told me she would tell Dr Hernandez I was ready to go home, and wanted to see him. I also called Dr Hernandez’s office and left messages Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (today). I am being held hostage in a facility that is less than adequate for my needs because this doctor can’t bother to see me or even write an order after repeated requests.
