Not sure what all the bad ratings are about. Especially re: the service? I happen to stop by here regularly, as it’s on my route home from work. It’s nice to have a place that serves up fresh tasting sub sandwiches as an alternative to unhealthier fast food options(if I could only lay off the chips as well). Service is always friendly and the employees seem to have a great sense of humor and are upbeat and pleasant with the customers. Lines go pretty quickly. I think the only times I’ve seen service slowed down is when the customers ahead of me are being ambivalent about their topping choices… ambivalent to the point where it almost seems like a major life choice… I digress. Sandwiches have always tasted good, fresh veggies/toppings. I keep it simple and get things Mike’s Way. Sometimes the freshness of the bread can be a little hit or miss depending on what time of day you get there. Otherwise, no major complaints from me. I like the fact they have a rewards/points system, and I’ve already scored 3 free subs as a result, which is a nice surprise at the end of a long work day. Hey, it’s the little things in life. Keep up the good work Jersey Mike’s in BG.

TERRIBLESERVICE. I had their subs … not great Jimmy Johns and subway a lot better. I came in there with 2 other friends and we just had hot chocolate on us. We came in around 8pm because we wanted to warm up. So we were just sitting there quietly, not disturbing anyone. This employee comes up, starts giving us an attitude and starts ranting at us to get out of the restaurant because we were not customers so we are not just allowed to warm up for 10 minutes. There was only one other customer in there, not a whole line of people. Apparently the gm doesn’t give a shit so whatever. Won’t be coming here ever again and I don’t recommend anyone else either.

Ate there once was good. Went today and was a line, I waited my turn for the two people in front to be done. My turn up and he takes my order at the same time he asks the four people behind me what they want to and proceeds to write it down. I waited and my sandwich should have been made, not at the same time as the other four behind me. I get slicing and cutting bread takes an extra minute but I waited, why am I waiting longer while you make four sandwiches at once… while I have my 2 young children with me. I won’t be back. I walked out and he says I sliced the bread already… oh well, concentrate on one customer at a time… customer service!!!

I’m confused by the bad ratings here! We were excited when this location opened up as we love Jersey Mike’s and were happy to have one close by. We eat here probably more than we should admit — once every week or two. The employees are consistently friendly, nice and have a good sense of humor. The subs are almost always perfect and delicious. From time to time a topping is forgotten or something small like that, but generally always good. Our faves are the turkey and provolone; chicken club; classic italian(forget the real name/number); and chipotle cheese steak. Kids love the salami sub kids meal with a cookie. Only thing that could make it better is if they had Coke products :)

I have been going to Jersey Mike’s since they opened good sandwiches consistent and a clean store. I waited in line for over 2 hours and received 52 free sandwich tickets. the new owner will not honor them so they have lost a customer for life. When it would cost him 5 more free sandwiches doesn’t make sense to me

Went here today with my coupon which THEY signed up for. I ordered and handed over my coupon for 10 dollars off and the guy says they are not allowed to take them. I said what do you mean you are not allowed to take them it says on here jersey mikes with this address. The guy says yes that’s the right place but my owner refused to honor those. I said but you guys signed up for it and he said yes but i cant take it the owner refuses to take them. I only went to there bc i had a coupon and the owner is trying to pull a fast one and not take it hoping that you will pay full price when he doesnt take the coupon. Went there for lunch and had a great meal. Line moved quickly, sandwich was perfect. I will definitely go back. I had the club regular and it is really huge. I want to try a hot sandwich next time. Maybe it depends when you go but the staff was very courteous and knowledgeable.

I’m writing this for my husband,(doesn’t have a Unilocal account) who had a horrible experience there tonight. First off he was ignored when he walked in. The one guy behind the counter finished helping the people who where there before my husband, and then the server guy walked off. Didn’t acknowledge my husband, there was no «I’ll be right back», just walked into the back room. Finally the server came back, slapped the bread down in whatever leftover juices where on the carving board, slapped together the sandwich, which was already falling apart, threw it an a bag. My husband paid, didn’t say a word and as he was leaving the server yelled out in frustration. «Ahhhhhhh!» ok dude. It’s a sandwich shop. Calm down. To top it all off the bread had MOLD on it. Totally disgusting. My husband went without a dinner, sorry he didn’t want to eat this places moldy, sad sandwich. Thanks jersey mikes buffalo grove. Way to screw with someone’s day.

Pros: *They have pretty decent deals to get you in(free regular sub, buy 1 get 1, etc)… *Tasty subs *The sandwiches are filling(a «regular» leaves me feeling like I had Thanksgiving dinner haha) Cons: *They really overload the oil *Each employee has one job and one job only. The meat cutter had to shout to get the sprinkle guy and cashier in from the other room both times I was there. It might increase productivity to train all the employees to make sandwiches start-to-finish including ringing them up

This store really needs to train their staff better. There was not one full slice if meat on any of the three sandwiches we ordered and the guy that slices the meat does only the meat and nothing more. We ordered one wrap and I had to complain to get it re-made as there was no way to pick it up. Thank goodness for Mya she redid the wrap so my son could pick it up and enjoy it.

Love Jersey Mikes. I never get oil on my subs here but I ask for light vinegar. They can be heavy handed on liquids, but if you know this then you can curtail a mess and love your sandwich.

Holy cow. Apparently Jersey Mike’s Subs is really hit or miss. I waited 20 minutes for a sub and NOONEELSE was in line. It was 7 pm and they already ran out of bacon. A sandwich shop that doesn’t have bacon??? The young high school intern looking kid was essentially useless — he stocked the chips shelves and the condiments. The only person I felt bad for was the cook. He was working hard at the grill, but he didn’t have any ingredients he needed to do his job! He had to wait for the«slicer» lady to slice everything — meat, cheese, etc. Apparently the stocker kid and the cook can’t do the slicing??? Anyway, after they didn’t have the sub I wanted(due to lack of bacon), I ordered a Reuben. My Reuben had half the meat of the guy-behind-me’s Reuben. Why? Looks like the lady slicing the meat was just eyeballing everything and she’s not very good at it. After waiting for over 20 minutes, I finally have my sandwich that had a tiny bit of meat… there’s a section of my sandwich where there is no meat — just bread. The other guy got a sandwich overflowing with meat and cheese. They opened a over MONTH ago, so this stuff should not be happening! GETYOURACTTOGETHER!!!

Got a sandwich to go, and 10 minutes later, the sandwich was a soggy mess. Hopefully this was just a fluke that they put on too much oil to make the sandwich a soupy mush. I’ve had sandwiches from Jersey Mike’s at several other locations without this problem. Never have this problem at Capri Deli, or really any other sub shop for that matter. Maybe not putting on a half cup of oil onto a sandwich would alleviate this problem. It’s simple common sense, really. I was really looking forward to this location opening. I’ll pass for awhile and try it again in a few weeks, perhaps.

This latest location of an up and coming franchise is a good example of what a real chain«sub shop» should be. In its category, that’s a definite«5». The crowds have been substantial in its first week, but they generally handle them very well, and with good humor as well. As with others in the chain, the subs here are superior to Subway in every respect except bread choice(only white or wheat). My favorite sub is the classic Italian sub, which they do very well. The Big Kahuna and Pastrami Reuben are some of the best of the hot subs around. A word of caution: if doing a carry out: avoid having the Oil and vinegar drizzle on the sandwich if you expect it to stay dry for the trip — it will soak through! Its just basic hydraulics.

This Jersey Mike’s just opened, but they they’ve got what it takes. They have been extremely busy since this is their first week, but seem to be able to handle it well and with a friendly attitude. Even though they were busy they had someone wiping down tables as people left. They also have a nice strip of confortable booths along the wall as well as tables for larger groups. The sandwiches are big and full of meat. My favorite is ‘The Big Kahuna.’ It’s a hot sandwich with loads of thinly sliced beef(cooked when you order it) grilled onion, mushrooms, and Jalapenos, all covered with cheese that melt into everything else! They have white and whole wheat breads. The only down side that I can see is that with all the other businesses in the area the parking isn’t very big.
