Theodore’s Red Hots

After Ted’s split off and Theodore’s was born in 2010 I actually like Theodore’s better. Usually get the regular hot dogs and they cook the dogs to your liking.
My son and I have been going here since they opened. Food is always good and the place is clean and the service excellent as well.
Have to get the loganberry to drink along with the fring.(half fries/​half onion rings) Can’t really find the loganberry outside this area for some reason.
Dogs are cooked using charcoal in their grill and the charcoal grilling adds a nice flavor to the food that is better than gas grilling. Probably couldn’t make any better yourself on your own grill.

I have been blessed over the last few weeks at having been to a number of places that have amazed me with the level of service I’ve gotten. And to know I can add a fast food place to that list, blows me away. So starting out with the good, I’ve got to say for a «fast food» burger or hot dog Theodore’s is awesome. I mean they use lump charcoal in their grill (not the nasty lighter fluid soaked stuff that makes your food taste like it was cooked with a Zippo lighter). Charcoal grilling adds a nice flavor to the food that IMHO is far better than gas grilling. Even better they offer Johnny Ryan Soda’s, which means one they have a cane sugar option instead of just High Fructose Corn Syrup drinks and they support other local businesses. To my next point, better yet… Have you ever had a hard time deciding between Onion Rings and Fries? Well here you can get Frings (½ fries and ½ onion rings) so no indecisiveness here. Oh one thing this place has over Teds: Free Refills on drinks. Since Theodore’s opened its doors on Union and Walden, I’ve not gone back to a Teds Hot Dog. They are a more customer friendly store.
To my last point, and in my opinion the best bullet point to underscore: Many of you know that I’ve 2 kids with Dairy allergies. So when I mentioned this fact to the manager (she was doing the grilling of the burgers and dogs), she had my daughters food (my son wasn’t with us tonight) made separately from the rest. She had her people change their gloves before working with her food, and then had the girl putting on the condiments use new ketchup, mustard, etc when dressing her burger. It was amazing that a fast food place would take that much care. My hats off to Theodore’s staff and food. This is another example of a company that knows to how to win customer loyalty. You do so by hiring quality people and nurturing a family friendly environment in the workplace. Bravo

We go here a lot, as my daughter takes guitar lessons next door at Guitar Center. Every time we go in the Manager and all her workers are so sweet and on the ball. She always makes sure to use different gloves and new condiments on my daughters food, as she has a dairy allergy. I am always amazed at Theodore’s integrity and personable staff. Once the location on Walden and Union opened we have been regulars because of this. All their staff in the evenings are pretty young, but they have hired some wonderful young adults that are respectable and quick to get your order and double check to make sure it gas everything you want, which I always appreciate.
I live that they have Johnny Ryan’s as well as fountain drinks. Their milk shakes are pretty good and when I go I usually get a Little T or chili cheese dog with onions and a Fry with a side of cheese. It is my favorite place to go on many levels. The food is fresh, I love Sahlens hot dogs and with their charcoal grill is so yummy, they don’t make my daughter feel like she is inconveniencing them with her dietary issues which means the world to her and I and they have always gone out of their way to show their appreciation to us as return customers (I feel right at home there), they have free refills there, his workers seem pretty happy and the owner is a real gem. He is always so nice and welcoming to his customers. As far as restaurants in general go this one is in my top 10 for service, friendliness and freshness of food.
Theodore’s has got it all right! I hope they never change!

The hot dogs and hamburgers are great! If you like your hot dogs lite, they will do it to perfection, same with If you want them dark. Excellent service and no lines to wait in and they put the toppings on for you. The frings are delicious. If you don’t know what a front is, it’s an onion ring, and french fries combo for an excellent price! I love it! I would suggest it to anyone.

Oh the split of Theodore’s and teds. They are pretty much the same although I have to say I like Theodore’s better. The crinkle fries are so good! The kill roy chicken is also very good. I have never had a bad meal here. The service is also very friendly and quick. They have tons of variety as far as toppings go. GO THEO’S!

Charbroiled hot dogs are decent… I asked for well done ad the girl actually moved the dog around on the grill to make sure it is cooked well done and evenly…
I got frings — ½ o-​rings ½ fries… O-​rings were small and ok i guess… fries were undercooked…
I got the foot long chili cheese dog… the chili is a sweet meat sauce, and is pretty darn tasty…
Milk shake was $ 3.49 and in a real small cup — 12oz ?? It was ok.
