Last night, I was part of a large group that ventured across the street from a show at Sugar City to Resurgence Brewing. It was my first time there and the entire night was really fun. The atmosphere at Resurgence is fantastic, both inside and out. It’s quite open with a long bar, plenty of space and additional seating; a great place to come with a large group. They also have giant versions of Jenga and Connect Four as well as Cornhole to play with friends. The outside area is very chill with a fire pit that apparently burns even on winter nights. Excellent vibe all around. I tried two of their beers. The first one was not quite my taste but the second one, I absolutely loved. It was the Peter B. Porter, a peanut butter porter. It was not sweet like commercial peanut butter, it was more of a peanut aftertaste; an authentic nut flavor more like organic peanut butter. Yum! — seriously loved this beer and had to order a second one. Sadly, I see on their website that this one only shows up once a year. I also ordered a cheeseburger artisan pizza, which I believe was a special. Thin crust with plenty of toppings, super tasty. I really enjoyed that as well. A few notes: First, they serve beer, wine, and a rather pricey cider; no liquor — in case you have someone in your party that would be bummed about that. Second, they offer a pretty decent snack menu of about a dozen items but it is not a full menu for dinner so food-wise think appetizer-like compliments to drinks. And finally, last call was at 11pm — on a Friday night — in Buffalo. I was so confused, like, where am I? So don’t wait too late to hit this one up.

If you’re not sure what to do for an evening, definitely head out to Resurgence. It’s a great way to spend a night out. The feature that makes me the happiest about Resurgence is the large amount of space. I don’t like feeling crowded in bar and this warehouse has plenty of room for a large group of people and games(yes, I said games). Trivial Pursuit decks are set at each table and you can walk around and find jumbo sized games such as Jenga and Connect 4. The beer and snack food is good but it doesn’t really matter to me as much as the atmosphere. It’s a great place to grab a drink, hang out with friends, and play games for the night.

The beer is good and getting better every time. Outstanding: the Peter B Porter peanut butter porter and the Citra-Mosaic IPA. Amazing. Perfection. They have big Jenga, cornhole both inside and outside, huge connect four. It’s super kid friendly during the day and evening but can get a little crazy later at night. The outside beer garden is a good size with communal tables and a fire pit that is burning even on the coldest winter day. You can BRINGINYOUROWNFOOD. and reserve a huge picnic table inside or outside for free and have big groups come meet up. Buffalo has been dying for something like this and somebody finally did it right!

Really love their Pina Colada beer and their Sponge Candy Stout. Great vibes and there was a band playing when I came by Sunday afternoon. The only thing that was a touch annoying was getting the beers. The girl who helped us apologized for the wait. Perhaps they should get more people to help out.

Super fun brewery and a great place! It’s huge and has a lot to offer — varied beer selection, corn holes, outside patio and bon fire setting, life sized Jenga and an atmosphere to match it all. If you like beer and want to have a casual evening with friends or your loved ones, this is the place! Its super chilled and laid back place with tasty beer. They also have games set up for a little zing to this mix. I came in here with a friend from Rochester. He loved the place since we’re both beer-lovers. I got the Autumn Saison which was really delicious! With the chilly weather upon us, they now have a fire going on outside so you could stay warm but still enjoy the fresh air and their beer. Really, really cool place!

Although new breweries are popping up all over the place this is always going to be the nearest and dearest to my heart. The atmosphere is one of the best in terms of having a good outdoor beer garden and plenty of games and tables inside. They offer a smaller menu(cheese plate, bread bowl, etc) but last I checked they let you order in food if you wanted to! The beer selection offers something for everyone. Some breweries are heavy on all IPA’s and stouts and neither are my favorite. Resurgence always offers a great seasonal option, their Loganberry Whit and a few other lighter options as well as a stout and IPA selection. I’ve never not had a great time here and highly recommend if somehow you haven’t already been there yourself.

I wished everyone loved Resurgence a little less so I could enjoy it a little more. I LOVE Resurgence and enjoy their beers but the place is ALWAYS excessively crowded with limited seating. The plus side? Games galore! Enjoy a game of life-sized Jenga or play a round of giant Connect-Four. Try your hand at some trivia questions or stick to a standard game of darts. There is tons to do, making it one of my favorite places in Buffalo to head for a drink. The outside area is beautiful in the summer, unfortunately still too small to handle the number of people enjoying the space. Food trucks are known to make an appearance while there is a fire pit for cooler days and nights. I’ve yet to sample much of the food, again, it can get a little crowded and it’s often difficult to find yourself a seat. A little out of the way, I definitely recommend stopping by Resurgence. It’s a great time! Try going during non-peak bar hours so you can really get a run of the place!

I’ve been here several times and it just keeps getting better. The beer selection was initially limited, but they’ve stepped up their game dramatically. Light to dark — beers for every taste. The atmosphere is great. Cornhole, JENGA(but with 2“x4“s so it’s legit), and bubble hockey to keep people occupied. A huge wall that’s a chalkboard with great drawings. They also have a patio with fire pits to keep warm. Glad to see such a great business in Buffalo that is constantly improving its products! When innovation and beer meet, it’s a beautiful thing.

Beautiful beer garden with friendly, helpful staff. The atmosphere was relaxing and conducive to talking and hanging out. It wasn’t too loud, though it was busy. The patio is beautiful with flowers, hanging lights and a fire pit. We ordered the meat & cheese platter between 4 of us and had some left. It included pickles, nuts, mustard, bread, 6 types of cheeses and 5 types of meats. The range of beers was a little disappointing given they were all VERY light with one dark and not much in the middle:/ The sangria was refreshing. *Bring a tap trail map to get ½ off a flight($ 4 value), or show one from your phone;)

Take one abandoned warehouse with exposed brick. Revitalize it to include skylights, several beer tanks, massive chalk boards, a spacious patio, a long bar, picnic tables, life-sized Connect Four, jumbo Jenga blocks, dart boards, and a corn hole set. Combine together to create the best space for day drinking in Buffalo. Want to talk beer?(I know: DUH!) Your brews vary depending on the season, but here’s what’s worth mentioning for the day drinker: Resurgence IPA, Summer Saison, Nice Melons IPH, Session IPA, and Loganberry Wit. There is also cider on rotation and sangria for friends who don’t favor hops, malt, and wheat. With an inviting space, laid back ambiance, entertaining options, and good beer, Resurgence Brewing has made quite the revival!

Resurgence offers an atmosphere that has been mysteriously lacking in Buffalo. Coming from Albany, I’m spoiled with choices like City Beer Hall, Brown’s and Old English. Out in Buffalo, this was the only place to offer a similar experience in the area. And, it fits the model perfectly fine. Community picnic table style seating. minimalist, industrial-style décor, lots of exposed brick and of course the chalk board beer list. It feels exactly like it should. Top marks on bringing that experience to Buffalo. Plenty of weirder style games, you won’t find pool or darts but there is Giant Jenga and bean bag toss, instead. Food’s good and most of it is not their own. Gramma Mora Burrito, Breadhive Bread boule, Webster’s chili. Lots of local support occuring here. Breadhive boule’s good and with a super healthy portion. I’m guilty of eating the bread it comes in. Service is normally pretty slow, however. I haven’t had a good time getting drinks at the bar. Yes, I understand it’s busy, but I’m not a huge fan of having to call out a name or flag someone down. If it’s busy, at least acknowledge that I’m standing there with money in hand. «Be with you in a minute» takes a second to say. Not a new experience for me, but definitely a new experience for most of Buffalo. Check it out. Edit: Apparently, there are darts. Hiding in a corner. I’ve never noticed them the few times I’ve been there.
