I really love this place for Mediterranean food. I really like their rice bowls, that’s one of my favorite items from this place. Their chicken rice bowl is my absolute favorite. White sauce from here is yummy. The dining area is pretty clean here and it’s not too loud so you can enjoy your meal pretty peacefully with your friends. However, I do wish their portion sizes are a tad bigger…

I love their rice bowl so much! Wish they didn’t use styrofoam though as their boxes.

One of the better options in the commons. A little pricey, but it’s worth it to treat yoself once in a while. Some of my favorites include: Chicken Souvlaki Wrap Chicken Over Rice Steak Sandwich Fish Fry

Rachel’s is delicious when you have a craving for Mediterranean food. I have tried their Falafel Wrap, Chicken souvlaki wrap, Chicken Shawarma, Chicken over rice, and their Greek Salad with chicken. All of these dishes were very yummy, but don’t be fooled into thinking these dishes are healthy, because they will definitely make you feel really gluttonous after. The white sauce Rachel’s has is really flavorful, but super rich! It is definitely one of the better options for food on UB campus, and the prices are reasonable as you can get a meal for under 10 dollars.

Best halal you can get on UB campus, I’ve been spoiled by halal guys in New York City. First time I went was good, second time my food was cold and they microwaved the whole meal including the lettuce and white sauce. Thought that was weird other than that no complaints

My office mates are huge fans of Greek food, so we are always ordering Rachels for lunch. Compared to the Delaware location, Rachels at UB definitely serves up extremely fresh food and everything I have had has been on point. I have tried their chicken shwarma wrap which is served on the side of Greek fries, as well as their open chicken souvlaki. Their lunch offers a choice of one of their sides for $ 1. I have tried from the list their Lebanese rice as well as their Tabouli. Their lebanese rice is soooo good — it has been my paleo cheat because I just cannot give it up. It is buttery, and wonderfully seasoned. The chicken is grilled to perfection with fresh greens and a delicious garlicky-Greek dressing. Rachel’s on UB’s campus is located with«the Commons» which is actually not owned by UB.(Fun fact: Since UB has a contract with Pepsi, you can only buy a coke in places in the Commons). The seating within Rachels is right by a body of water which makes it very scenic. It does get busy around lunch time(not that they cannot handle it) but if you go around 1:00, things will have slowed down.

We called at 11am(right when they open) and placed 5 orders for delivery. 1pm and still no food. After about 10 placed calls, someone finally picked up. The man on the phone was very rude and disrespectful so we kindly informed him that if or when an order is not going to be delivered at a reasonable time, to at the very least call and inform the customer(They did take our phone number when we originally called to place the order). We also cancelled our order but the delivery man still showed up(assuming he already left when we placed the call back). When we got the food, it was of course cold and 2 of the orders weren’t even correct. Delivery guy was very pleasant and understood our frustrations — much more understanding than the nasty guy on the phone. This was the 3rd delivery within the last month or so, where it was either late and/or the order was wrong. Needless to say this was the nail in the coffin. We will no longer be ordering from Rachel’s. Being shorthanded or short staffed is one thing, but being rude and disrespectful over the phone is completely unnecessary.

Great food but the price is on the expensive side. The steak over rice was delightful and the sauce they added was delicious. This place is one of the better stops in the Commons of UB.

Rachel’s is decent. Giving the fourth star primarily because it’s affiliated with UB and I think UB is just the greatest institution in all the land. Stopped in on a rainy Monday around 3:30. The inside could use some cozy décor. It is so plain and white, I feel like I am in a hospital cafeteria. It needs some comfy chairs, maybe some frames on the walls, something! It could be so much more. Anyways, the menu is fairly simple, platters, wraps, subs, salads, standard Mediterranean Cuisine. Went with my sister and we got a chicken souvlaki wrap, small open souvlaki and a side of hummus with a bottled water. The total came to $ 24 and I thought that was rather pricey for lunch for us college gals. I could see the kitchen from the counter and it looks very clean and organized which I really liked. Nothing like getting a sneak preview of the conditions your food is going to be prepared in before you place an order. The food was ready rather quickly. Served in styrofoam boxes. They have sriracha, hot sauce and ketchup at the counter along with some utensils and napkins. My small open souvlaki was the perfect size for lunch, just enough. It came with small bits of chicken, lightly seasoned, onions, tomatoes, olive, yes one olive and some feta cheese. The dressing on the side looked scary… my sister and I compared it to looking at germs under a microscope. It was tasty but the oil to seasoning ratio was a bit off. My sister loved her souvlaki wrap and our hummus was pretty large, VERY lemony and served with two white pitas. Wish they had whole wheat pita. Overall it was an okay lunch. Would definitely go back and try something different.

These guys have some amazing chicken over rice! I really love it, it reminds me of halal and the only place in buffalo that has reminded me of halal! So if you miss the chicken over rice from the city give this place a try!

It is my favorite place to eat in the UB Commons area. The only Mediterranean food on campus. The only problem is the wait, I think it is pretty ridiculous sometimes when you have to wait almost 20 – 30 minutes for food. Students come here so often, they should really have more people cooking in the back. They have always reduced the portions a bit since I first came here. Nonetheless, still the only spot on campus and you can get a quick fix.

I love this place. Fresh, delicious Mediterranean food and awesome service. On every visit I have been greeted with a smile and bid goodbye with a «thank you for your business!»(Seriously, how often does that happen these days?!) Everything on the menu is tasty, but my favorites are the chicken shawarma and the chicken souvlaki. Warm, slightly toasted pita is served with dinners and open sandwiches. Depending on the cook, you receive a half or full pita.(I’m not sure why it isn’t consistent, but my only wish is that it would always be full. I love pita! And when you get a side of hummus, the more the better!) Located inside The Commons, the restaurant has a nice view of the lake. It can get busy during lunch hour when school is in session, so tables can be limited. You can call your order in ahead of time. I highly suggest taking advantage of this during lunch hour. You’ll be smiling as you walk in and out within minutes while others are hanging out anxiously waiting for their order to be ready. Overall, if you’re looking for good food, good service, and a relaxing view of UB north campus, I highly recommend Rachel’s!

The best food on campus. Fish fry: yum. Falafel — yes please! I used to come here a lot when I went to school at UB. The fish fry was probably my favorite, although at close to $ 10 it was a bit of a pricey meal. The dining area is usually pretty clean and the service was always exceptional. Whenever the owner was there, we’d chat and he always had a great demeanor. Want some Meditarreanean food without leaving campus? Rachel’s is your go to place.

A menu almost entirely Mediterranean with a few items thrown in to please the students(mozzarella sticks are a Greek specialty, you know). Decent, especially considering what else is available on campus, and about the only place with a view of the lake that isn’t outside :) Not a ton of seating, though, especially from 12:15 — 1:30 while the semester’s in session. Always fresh food, homemade stuff, and a friendly staff. Definitely a solid choice if you’re on campus looking for somewhere to grab a quick meal.

The food is actually good. But if i had to wait another 20 minutes to get a gyro its not worth it. It said exactly 6:08pm on my receipt order and yet he said I only waited 6 minutes for my order. Im not even a student at UB but it seems I was rudely treated because he thought I was merely a student or is it because I’m asian?. Students should not be treated like this and I hope he doesnt act like that to all the students.

This place is decent. We get their catering for our meetings once a week and for $ 10/person it is an amazing amount of food. They are always consistently early with delivery. I have only eaten at their restaurant(if it really deserves that name) once. It is a bit drab inside but a great view of the lake on campus. The guy that runs this place is super nice. While others have complained to me that they are slow, I got my food super fast. I wish my sandwich had come with lettuce and tomato instead of french fries, but I must have just misread the menu. Tabouleh and hummus are both quite good here. Falafel is slightly dry, chicken is good.
