Great place. I Have lived within minutes of the place and probably passed it a few times and have never been. Now that I have been here, I’m already planning my next return. Great place to have a birthday party for both adults and kids. The sound system was great and can handle any party or concert you could throw at it. With a large skate rink and small skate rink it gives you two locations for different skill levels. Can’t wait to return and improve on my skating skills.

Nude Skateland sounds even more appealing… maybe Buffalo isn’t quite ready for that yet. But your kids are gonna love it. I’ve now visited this place 3 or 4 times, and there will definitely be more! I’m sad that they’re struggling to keep it open, but it’s absolutely lovely. If only I knew about it sooner! I took someone special here recently and she loved it too! I found out about this place because Alex L did an event here. He’s the best CM in history, so it makes sense that he would champion a place that is a little gem on Ferry St and needs our help to stay open. It has holes in the roof and has been neglected. The lovely owners are trying to keep it open, and need a new roof. If you can help make that happen, please do. It’s a wonderful place to come and rollerskate, like stepping right back into the 1970s. It would be a real shame if Buffalo loses this place.

I could have sworn I wrote a review for this place! So, almost a month later, I still have a bruised knee. That’s not the fault of New Skateland, but of my general lack of coordination. Lee and I visited this place during a semi– official Unilocal Event, that was going on at the same time as a late-night Valentine’s Day skate. This place is definitely out of a time warp. It’s an older rink, old enough that it has hardwood floors and not a newer surface. This gives a great feel but it can also be treacherous. There’s at least one spot on the rink that will make you wobbly, but luckily it is near the outside of the rink, so you can quickly grab on to the railing. I had a little bit of trouble at the rental counter, mainly because I have weird feet. One pair of skates were too big, another pair were too small. It’s nice that they have some newer skates available, and they hand those out first. We both had a lot of fun here, and would definitely go back if they run more late night adult events.

Its not every day you can relax for a moment as you go around the room, listen to the music, and for good or bad its like your in high school all over again. Reminds me of days where you hung out with your friends some place to chat, because while aim was new, there was no texting… just pagers and public phones.

I had no idea we had such an awesome roller skating arena. Skateland on the Eastside is fantastic! Roller skates are only $ 1 to rent and they have a huge area to skate around. Great lighting and party atmosphere. An absolute blast for the family or a birthday party. I was here yesterday for what they call a «Well Rounded People Party» something the East Side Wash Project puts together semi-regularly. It’s basically a huge awesome skate party. You pay $ 5 to get in and then can rent skates for $ 1. It benefits a great cause and is a fun time all around, even if you’re not a huge skater. I’ve never really skated on roller skates before and while it took some getting used to and I fell a few times, I ended up having a blast. DJ Cutler and a few other DJs were spinning great music and there was even a disco ball. Definitely check this place out if you get a chance and if you see a skate party coming up… attend! It’s a great time!
