So this was not my first time at a Buffalo Wing’s establishment in the confines of the greater Buffalo area. That being said, I have a little knowledge on wings around this area. I have to say, these by far are the best wings that I have had in Buffalo and definitely the best out of any establishment I’ve ever been to. Apparently the original Dinosaur originated in syracuse and they now have around 10+ across the NE and even one that popped up recently in Chi Town. I would recommend this to anyone, especially if you are just visiting Buffalo. Chipotle Garlic Wings… life changing.

Being from the south I was skeptical of this place. I had tried BBQ in New York before but wasn’t impressed until I tried dinosaur bbq. The flavors and tenderness was just like being back in middle Georgia. You guys should introduce it in the pig jig, which is Georgia’s BBQ festival. Thank you guys for providing that kind of quality bbq for southerners who get homesick. Your service was really awesome too.

Always a good BBQ. Haven’t had anything I did not like yet. Service is friendly. A bit pricier than I would have thought. But, it is worth it.

My first Dino experience ever and it was good. The atmosphere is OK, a little bit of chain restaurant feeling, but it’s not horrible or anything. The service was great, we got seated immediately, orders taken right away and our food was out super quick. Food was good but nothing mind blowing that I would be a devout BBQ follower of the place. Had the ribs and some BBQ chicken for the kids. The Chicken was really good, the ribs were slightly dry but still pretty meaty. The sides were a bit skimpy in my opinion. Nice local beer list though.

Fantastic barbecue, great location, cool venue. The beer selection is always top notch, everytime we have went we were served by the bartender who was amazing. You need to try their fried rice, and the deviled eggs rival some of the best I’ve had. Great for spotting Bills players during the regular season, try on a Saturday afternoon!

Just as good as their flagship restaurant in Syracuse. Delicious wings, the most tender ribs, and quite possibly the most tasty sides of any BBQ joint. Not a huge fan of Buffalo, but When I’m back again, I’ll be sure to stop by Dinosaur BBQ

I wanted to try Dinosaur BBQ because of the name and the history of the building. I am a dinosaur/Jurassic Park lover, so a place called Dino BBQ in an old Universal Studios building appeals to me. But it is definitely the food that will bring me back. I chose the Dino Poutine for an appetizer and it was delicious. Then a combo plate of Brisket, Ribs, and ¼ chicken with sides of Mac n cheese and coleslaw. Everything was delicious. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating of a tourist like me. I will definitely be back, as I highly recommend this Dinosaur BBQ joint. If you are a west coaster, it is on the same level as Lucille’s minus those delicious apple butter biscuits. Add those Dino and you have a customer for life haha

Dino BBQ has been on my list for a while. I finally got to try this place out. It’s a chain mainly with locations up North. We ordered the the Swag Sampler Plate which consisted of Druken Spicy Shrimp Boil, Chicken Wings, Fried Green Tomatoes, and Deviled eggs as well as a Dino Poutine but with chicken instead of pork. I LOVED the wings! We ordered the Devil’s Duel wings– super delicious and spicy! I thought the Fried Green tomatoes and shrimp were good– nothing super amazing about it. The cayenne buttermilk ranch dressing that came with the fried green tomatoes was AMAZING– I could drink that up! The poutine fries were good– it’s a Canadian dish which basically consists of fries with cheese and gravy. The portion size were huge and there were a total of 4 of us and we couldn’t finish it all. For my main course, the hubby and I decided to share a combination plate as the appetizer plate was super filling. We got the rack of ribs and brisket combo with mac and cheese and BBQ fried rice with BBQ meat. I don’t like a lot of sauce, so I asked for the ribs to have sauce on the side. The ribs were good and surprisingly so was the fried rice! Overall, it was delicious and I’m glad I got to try this place out. I do have to say the price is a bit high for BBQ but it’s a place to check out if you’re by a Dino BBQ location.

I came for an informal business lunch and was promptly seated and met by an attentive server. Nice beer selections… good vibe… perfect for the food. Nice selections of apps… we had the deviled eggs… strong recommendation! Ribs were«fall off the bone» good, brisket tasty and all sides were solid. Nothing ground-breaking but that’s not what we came for… we wanted smokey meats and well prepared food and were not room for dessert but maybe during my next visit!

Tried here recently because of it’s close proximity to Shea’s(had event there to go to). Had reservation and it worked out well time wise, was seated right away. We were given menus when we were sat, and I quickly looked through it looking for a drink menu. They have a good beer menu, but I don’t drink beer. After a few minutes of not finding what I was looking for, I noticed an empty table next to us had an extra menu on it that looked like a drink menu. It was! Ding ding ding! At least I could figure out what to drink. Just as I sat back down with prize drink menu in hand, our waitress approached us and asked me what we would like to drink. I told her I had just found a drink menu and I needed a minute. She rolled her eyes and huffed away. I nicknamed her Frosty to my husband and never bothered to learn her real name. I’m not going to bore you with all the ways our waitress was kinda a bitch to us and might want to rethink working in a service industry, but she was not a very good waitress. Despite her poor attitude, my super sweet husband still tipped her 25% at the end of the night because he’s Canadian and generally a much nicer person than I am. Anyhow, on to the food! The food is delicious. There is a reason this chain is successful and it’s because they have really good food. We started with the poutine and it was awesome. They had me at fresh hand cut fries. They were crisp and perfectly salted, covered in gravy, cheese and pulled pork. I could have eaten those all night long. I had a pulled pork sandwich for dinner with beans and cole slaw. I did not care for the cole slaw or the beans, but the sandwich was generous with the meat and very yummy. My husband had the ribs with mashed potatoes, bbq pork fried rice and corn bread. Everything on his plate was absolute tits, I kept stealing things from his plate. I like Dinosaur’s ribs better than Kentucky Gregs, my husband agreed with that too. They were smoked and tender, just perfect. My husband accidentally confessed that he liked Dinosaur’s mashed potatoes better than mine. He’s in big trouble for that, you never tell your wife when someone does something better than her. NEVER. And for the record, I think my mashed potatoes are better, I use a potato ricer and TONS of butter. The Dinosaur ones had a faint taste of garlic in them and I know that’s why my husband liked them. He loves garlic. The cornbread was a touch dry and would be better if served with some butter, but still very good. I wanted to get dessert but was much too full. I was drinking the raspberry lemon drops all night and lightweights be warned, they do a generous pour. I’m not complaining mind you, just a heads up. The drinks I had were delicious and I love anything with a sugar rim. My husband was drinking beer, like he always does. They allegedly have a free parking lot but we drove around before we parked and never saw it. Next to the restaurant was«$ 20 event parking». F THAT. I’ll pay $ 20 to park in a bigger city like NYC or Boston or DC, but not Buffalo. We parked down at that ramp next to Chippewa and walked the ¼ block, it was free that evening. We’ll be back in the future, got another Shea’s thing next month. Hopefully next time we’ll have a nicer waitstaff person.

I’ve been looking forward to trying Dinosaur since they opened, but unfortunately, I wasn’t too blown away. My friend got the Dinosaur Burger with ak chili and the cucumber and sump’n salad, and I got the BBQ Catfish with mashed potatoes and gravy and corn/zucchini. We took turns sharing bites of our entrees and sides. It was 9pm when we got dinner, so we were starving, but when we walked out, we were feeling unsatisfied for what we got and the cost. I couldn’t even finish the catfish because it got this rubbery, fatty texture to it. We both thought the sides were pretty good, but a girl can’t be filled on corn and zucchini. Hate to be a jerk, but I can get a better, bigger meal at Fat Bob’s for less money. Our server was absolutely perfect – efficient and knowledgeable. The atmosphere was fun and I definitely think it’s a great edition to downtown Buffalo. Maybe I’d consider going again to try the Fried Green Tomato Sandwich. I don’t eat beef or pork, so maybe this is someone else’s cup of tea. God Speed, all ye serious meat eaters!

Yay, I made it back. This time I ordered the BBQ fried rice as a side and it was excellent. Will make the regular rotation. Think it might only be available at this location(Buffalo). Service was very good this visit.

I’m a total grazer. I like a little bit of a lot of things, so Dinosaur is a great place from someone like me. They have so many sauces which I LOVE! Gives your palette a great variety. I have always been seated right away. I love BBQ and for a chain restaurant they get it right! Good ambience with the whole rustic western thing, I dig it!

I came here with my dad for the first time after hearing about this franchise from my coworkers. Good location and free parking. We were immediately greeted when we walked in. We sat on the patio and not long after our server Eric came out. He was very personable. Reasonable prices and the lemonade was fresh squeezed served in a mason jar. It was the BIZNESS and there were free refills. We shared a rib plate which was great and didn’t even need extra sauce. Meat was so tender. He kept checking on us without bring pushy and brought us both refills without asking and a to go cup. The bag for the dessert was so cute. I kept it as a souvenir. Great place to hang out and I saw there was a happy hour on some already decent priced drinks. Thanks to management and Eric for a great dining experience and saying that you loved working there. It shows!

Really not that impressed. Dined early(5:15) prior to a show @ Babeville. I wasn’t that hungry & just wanted an app, which are scarce. The server was cordial enough, and she had the«oh, shit, one person small check small tip» look in her eyes. I had 2 beef sliders(about the size of a tin of red Unilocal! mints) with(I think) matchstick potato chips on top, 1−½ pickles chips on the side, and approximately 10cc of barbeque sauce hanging off the top of the bun(it was presented open face). The noise level for so early in the evening was already too loud. The place began to fill up while I was there, & by the time I left @ 5:45, it was too loud to hold a conversation with myself. The check was $ 8.56. I threw down a $ 10& ran outside to get some peace & quiet. 1 star for the food. The burgers were REALLY good. 1 star for prompt, efficient service. 1 star for décor, cleanliness.

I absolutely love this BBQ joint! The food is so good! Service is awesome and every time i leave i can’t wait to plan my trip back! For lunch and dinner the portion sizes are generous. The and yummy. For my first visit, I ordered the wings and ribs with mac n cheese and rice. The BBQ sauce it literally finger licking good! The sides were plentiful, I wasn’t crazy about rice but LOVED the mac and cheese. For the second visit, we came for happy hour which consisted of a select menu of drinks and food. The mixed drinks were pretty to look at but not very potent in alcohol content. The portions of the apps are for solo persons only and are not made to get you full by no means. I ordered the wings and again they didn’t disappoint, My husband ordered the deviled eggs and they were SOGOOD! Every time we come here it will definitely by our app of choice. For happy hour I probably would just come back for a pre-meal and then head some where else for drinks. Again the service was outstanding.

Dinosaur BBQ has come to Buffalo, actually its been here for awhile. I guess I finally came to Dino BBQ. They picked a great location on Franklin street in downtown Buffalo. It’s centrally located between other restaurants, parking lots(free lot is on Tupper), and Sheas Theater. The main entrance unloads into a small waiting area near the hostess station. We made a reservation and were seated instantly, a few minutes early. Tables are rustic dark woods. Chairs are a mix-and-match, fitting the family style. The scenery is exposed woods and fun signage. The old Genesee beer trays, Sabres pennants, and posters add a welcome Buffalo flare. Each table boasts a sauce tray(BBQ, Frank’s hot sauce, ketchup) and a napkin holder. Our server came around quickly to introduce herself. I immediately noticed how loud it is in here. She had to yell over the noise while giving us the specials. Immediately following that she took our drink orders. Drinks for a 9 top took just under 15 minutes. We only ordered fountain drinks. Guess I’ll blame that slowness on the Father’s Day rush! Once drinks were delivered we placed our order. For an appetizer we tried the fried green tomatoes. They came with 5 fried slices on a plate, served on a bed of lettace with a side of dipping sauce. To me they tasted like fried batter dipped in a ranch-like sauce. I like onion rings and fried foods, but these really had no other flavor. For dinner I ordered 13BBQ wings sauced Garlic Chipotle with a side of freshly cut fries. Their blue cheese is made fresh daily and this was the main reason I wanted wings. 30 minutes after ordering our food we were told they were out of mashed potatoes. If we wanted to wait it would be an additional 20 minutes. Everyone who wanted them switched to something else. They really should have told us this 20 minutes before, I guess the kitchen wasn’t keeping track? Some communication error must have existed. It took 40 minutes for our food to be delivered. The wings melted off the bone. They were well sauced. The flavors were sweet with a hint of spice. The hand cut fresh fries were crispy and salty. I really enjoyed them. Our waitress kept drinks filled. She came back multiple times to check on us. She always had a smile and was extremely respectful. The overall experience was a pleasant one. The food was good. Everyone enjoyed their meal. It turned out to be a great Father’s Day lunch!

Finally stopped by Dinosaur Bar-B-Que in Buffalo. This is my first DBBQ experience and i went with my boyfriend, who is a Syracuse native where the original DBBQ is located. He did a quick run down for me for what I can expect. The space for the Buffalo location was a lot smaller than I anticipated. From what I know about the chain, I expected it to have much more seating. However, we arrived on a Sunday night during the Allentown Art Festival(so a busy time) and we were seated in 20 minutes. We stopped by the bar first for a drink while we waited and watched the NBA Championship games. Once seated, the very straight forward menu was presented to us. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. I ordered the Churrasco Chicken Chow Chow sandwich which is a mojito grilled chicken with original sauce and hoisin sesame sauce with shredded cabbage and tomato relish. As a side, I got some Cajun corn and roasted zucchini and a side of corn bread. Everything came out very quickly in a simple presentation — it was just what you would expect at a BBQ place. The chicken was very nicely grilled and moist to the bite. I am usually not a big shredded cabbage/cole slaw fan but this cabbage gave the sandwich a nice crunch. Cajun corn was clearly canned and not fresh off the cob but the zucchini was very nice. The corn bread was good but a little bit dry. Overall, I think Fat Bobs is a much better local BBQ option for those looking for a BBQ joint. To be fair, it look me such a long time to try DBBQ because I am such a huge fan of Fat Bobs, so my perception may be a bit biased. Additionally, I did not try some of DBBQ’s more well-known picks such as their ribs and pulled pork. Maybe i would feel different about those dishes. I have to say though of the things I have tried, I enjoy Fat Bob’s grilled vegetables and corn bread much more than DBBQ. Definitely worth stopping by as it has nice traditional BBQ joint décor, service is quick, food is decent and the prices are very reasonable.

I was absolutely thrilled when I found out Buffalo was opening a Dinosaur BBQ location. I have been to the Syracuse and Rochester locations several times. I went with my friends during opening week. It was pretty busy, but we were seated right away. We ordered a flight of beer, bbq ribs, cornbread, mac n cheese and a caramel cheesecake dessert. Everything was absolutely delicious! They did a great job maintiang the charming dive bar atmosphere of Dino BBQ. The Buffalo location is a bit more family-friendly than the location in Syracuse. The servers were incredibly friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. It’s a great place to go when you’re looking for a casual and delicious meal.

Finally, I’ve made the short journey to Dino BBQ, and of all days… on a Friday during Lent. At first, I was bummed that I couldn’t delve into some ribs or taste some delicious bbq chicken. However, being a seafood lover, I was pleasantly surprised with my array of non-meat options. Our waitress was extremely helpful in describing the dish I would eventually order, the Drunken Spicy Shrimp Boil. This dish is served cold, plus you have to peal the shrimp yourself. At first this was a major turnoff, but our excellent waitress reassured me and showed me her pealing technique once our meals came out. The trick is to squeeze the legs and pull them in one direction with your thumbs & just like that, they’re ready to eat! I also prefer the Cajun corn and zucchini and the waitress threw in mashed potatoes for me, because she knew how well it would compliment the dish! :) The rest of the table ordered racks on racks of delicious ribs, and my other lent observing friend prefer their haddock fish fry special! Also, as a side we ordered deviled eggs, which were amazing. See my photos below(caution: drooling may occur upon viewing the photos!) Overall, the restaurant was amazing, from food to service to atmosphere, all were a 5! Even being a packed house due to the Garth Brooks double concert, our food still came out promptly. I was very impressed with that. Can’t wait to go again and try some !
