A decent option if you’re hungry on campus– otherwise, not so much. Tokyo chicken– Pretty tasty, similar to a General Tso’s chicken. A bento box for about 10 dollars served with shumai, salad and white rice. Chicken Teriyaki– quite disappointing, not very good. My go to option is the veggie soup with either udon or the soba noodles and tofu. Really big portion with a lot of veggies around 7 – 8 dollars. The sushi is buy one get one free after 6 pm, but the fish can be kind of sketchy looking– proceed with caution!

I have been here a lot of times and have ordered many different foods. I ate Tokyo Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken, Katsu Chicken, Katsu Fish, Shrimp Thai Fried Rice, Curry Fish(Katsu fish), Coconut Shrimp(new), Katsudon, Green Pepper Chicken(new), Oyaku Don. Most of the dishes are okay. I would say Tokyo Chicken is like sweet and sour chicken, except the sauce is all over the chicken with pineapples. The chicken is questionable. Teriyaki chicken is good with a lot of onions, also questionable chicken. I do like the Oyaku Don, Shrimp Thai Fried Rice(a bit too lemony), Curry katsu fish is good, but the curry is basically an indian based curry with potatoes and carrots. It’s not bad, but its okay. The coconut shrimp is good but it’s only 5 fried shrimps with buckload of rice, not what I expected. I thought it would be buckload of shrimp in a coconut curry. But it was good, just not enough shrimp. I like the green pepper chicken, it is stir fried, with lots of onion, and green bell peppers, and jalapenos(spicy!). I just don’t eat the jalepenos. But my favorite and the ones that can’t go wrong are Oyaku Don and Shrimp Thai Fried Rice, or Green Pepper Chicken. I know they have new dishes with egg plants and other stuff. but I have no idea what it looks like so its tough to figure out. I love the corn type coleslaw, I never eat the egg though. I did find hair in my food twice, once in the rice, and another time in the chicken. It is gross, but I try not to vomit. I wish the people in the back would shave or wear hair nets or something. Other than that the place is nice, and the food is good.

Maybe my expectation is little too high but I think they can do much better than this. Most of their food are like the mix of American Chinese and really bad Japanese food. I would not even recognize they are Japanese food if they did not advertise as such.(I am originally from Japan.)The servers are nice, but I think they could improve their quality to match their pricing.

Ever since I had the pork cha-siu udon soup there this afternoon, my stomach has been acting funny. The head of bean sprout was blue color for some reason so I asked the cashier if this was normal and he says its completely fine. Now after googling it it says only the bean sprout that has been soaked in fertilizer would look like this. I’ve never had allergic reaction towards any kind of food before and if I still don’t feel well later tonight I might have to call the ER and maybe sue this place

I am a huge fan of Japanese food but the first time i ordered here wasn’t the best. I ordered Teriyaki Chicken and it was not what I expected. The chicken pieces were dark meat in a thick gravy sauce with onions. I tasted the teriyaki but the amount of sauce really threw me off. The rice was really good though and my meal came wit half of a hard boiled egg. Extra large portions. This meal could’ve easily fed 2 people.

I have never been here with it busy. Came here one day with gf and ordered pork egg congee and spicy fried chicken. The food took about 10 minutes to come out which was quite long considering we were the only ones being served. The congee had way too much rice. Should be soup based with meats and rice. Rather what we got was a bowl of wet rice with pork and eggs. The flavor though was good. The spicy fried chicken is pretty bad. Not sure what they are using for the spicy sauce(not sriacha) but it really has this bitter taste. The chicken was dry. Kind of depressing. Had to douse the chicken with sriacha in order for it to be edible. dish also came with two salads of lettuce and Italian dressing and corn with a mayonaise based dressing. Personally those just do not mix… Terrible mix of veggies and sauce. Corn would’ve been better in it’s own and the salad was just disgusting… They also serve a ton of rice as if the 6 – 7 slices of chicken you get is enough to eat alongside of it. Overall, I would probably never come here again. With the huge variety of stores right next to this one, there isn’t really any reason to come here again unless you like your food dry and boring

Decent food. Ordered tofu rice with gravy. Portions are good. I’d like to add a suggestion that they keep small packets of sauces for the take away people especially hot sauce!

I like this place because they serve congee and it was my holy grail when I was sick during the winter… This place has a lot of varieties that you can choose from but my favorite is anything with katsu *-*

The food is great, fresh and delicious. The fact the food is well presented is over the top for anyone at UB. Dancing Chopstick is the best chow down at UB. The wait is about 5 – 15 minutes so you have to be patient but it’s worth it.

I love eating here! During the summer, I came here for lunch every day =] My favorites are the Tofu Veggie Curry, the Fish Katsu, Pork Katsu, the Shrimp Shu Mai, and the Beef Fried Rice. The bubble tea is not bad, but I rather get mine from Tea Leaf. There is also free hot tea available. The staff are very friendly. I love the atmosphere and the background music. It’s a great place to enjoy your food and relax. The only reason I rated 4⁄5 stars is because there are small annoying fruit flies that buzz around sometimes.

decent option for lunch on campus but not worth the trip if you are not already wandering around UB. i like the seating area — simple, but clean and with good views some orders are slower than others, but I can’t figure out which things seem to slow it down. nice guys running the place(UB grads I think) the soup(ramen or udon) is a big helping and very hot so not a good choice for a fast meal. very on the salt. i’ve had better ramen many places but then again I have also had worse… not sure what the hours are on boba stand. wasn’t open at lunch time unfortunately

Pros: –The Beef Yaki Udon I got… the flavor mimicked Okonomiyaki — tasty but a little heavy on the mayo. Regardless, it was comforting knowing that I can find decent Asian food in Buffalo. –the décor… very collegiate feel and has that new-age Japanese feel. The menu is written in colorful chalk accompanied by some vivid pictures that made me want to order everything. Cons: –There’s a little stand in there that serves gimmicky snacks + boba. When I saw bulgogi taco, flashes of Kogi/Calbi(Korean-Mexican fusion trucks) from LA nostalgia rushed over me and I had to give it a shot. Yikes what a mistake. Tasted like something I make in my kitchen — tortilla clearly store bought and taken from the fridge, cold beef, and lettuce clearly from a premade salad package. Took me 4 bites to finish and cost me $ 3…no good. Though despite how disgusting it was, I do appreciate the creativity and attempt to capitalize on what is a booming food trend on the West Coast. –why I ventured to try boba in Buffalo is beyond me but when you grow up with at least 5 boba shops in a mile radius of anywhere you go, I just had to have some for my sanity. My taste buds however disagreed. The«milk tea» was white — I’ve never seen that before and I can only assume that the milk: tea ratio was way off. The boba itself way undercooked and inedible and had to toss it after finishing the«tea». Ultimately, there are a lot of items on the menu that I would love to try. It makes me feel at home where there was a ton of Asian influence. Though now I know to steer clear of that tiny stand serving garbage.
