I’ll start on a serious note. Pretty awesome that people are reviewing my events. I really appreciate it guys. One of the main reasons I do this is to get more attention for the little local places that are underrated and that deserve it, and this is an added way for that to happen, so thank you to Maria, Alex, Katherine, and Jimmy Bob for reviewing this event. If you can’t see Jimmy Bob’s review it’s because he blocks anyone that he doesn’t like. Don’t take it personally, he only likes people that post nude selfies on Unilocal. So if you wanna get in with him, well, I’m not saying you should do that, I’m just saying, you’ll never be able to read his CRAZYAWESOME reviews which mention you by name, if you don’t. So anyway. The 4 stars is for the food, which was actually 5-star food, it’s AMAZING. It loses a star because of this guy Fox. First of all who the hell does he think he is, doing 8 UYEs and then cancelling two of them. That just screams DOUCHE. And I don’t mean like, the way you might scream at someone who hasn’t showered in a year when you’re about to pleasure them down in the Deep South. Although I would be way more tactful about it than screaming if I were you. Secondly, I mean, I get the whole«this food is great» thing, but when you do an event and have like 15 people show up instead of the previously-advertised 5, then the poor place runs out of food, which they did, which means that the poor lovely sweet market merchants will not eat tonight. Because everyone knows that when they get off(work), they grab McKenzie’s and then they head home. And when McKenzie’s has nothing left, then they go home and eat gruel. Gruel that is grown on the plains of Uzbekistan and then freeze dried and transported by cargo plane to the US. So it really tastes like utter crap. And Fox is the reason that all these merchants were subjected to this. What’s more is that he then had everyone running around the Market, knocking things down, looking for clues about this and that. It was just so bourgeoisie. The cops came, but just after everyone had already left. There would have been arrests and taserings. And it would have been all Fox’s fault. There would have been like, 15 Unilocalers, yelling«don’t tase me bro.» But that drama was avoided, only because everyone got lucky and left when they did. The saving grace of the event other than the food, was Gabe. He was like«hey, let’s go to the roof garden», so everyone went up to the roof garden, leaving Fox & Alex to talk about whether they want to make another go of their secret relationship or not. Note to self: if you ever do a UYE(which you never, ever should because this guy Fox is an example of how awful they can be), then take Gabe with you. He will totally keep everyone entertained and give everyone the illusion that you actually put some work into it. Warning to all: never go to a Fox UYE. Ever. But go and eat at McKenzie’s. Immediately. Over and out.

Lee and I had a great time at this event! I am not familiar with the neighborhood at all, and it was great to see yet another side of Buffalo. I also really enjoyed the food we had, it was surprising to find a Soul Food place lifted straight from the south in Buffalo, but then again, there are a lot of different cuisines in town. My only notes would be that it would have been nice to structure things so that we all got an opportunity to see the rooftoop gardens(although it was by choice that I stayed,) and that perhaps we had more teams for the scavenger hunt, it was a little rough doing it with two large teams, but on the other hand, I don’t think the turnout was anticipated to be so big! Anyway, I am definitely a fan of Fox’s events, and I try to go to as many as I’m able!

Thank Fox for a great UYE today at McKenzies Soul Food in the Broadway Market. Some familiar faces and some new faces, lots of significant others. Terrific group of 10 – 12 who ate, laughed and ate some more. The food was enjoyed by all it seemed. I enjoyed my fried chicken. After the gathering, chatting, ordering, chatting some more, tours of the rooftop garden for some, and eating, we had another scavenger hunt, thanks to Fox. Again very clever, our team was stumped by a few clues, but we all figured it out in the end. On my team, Ruth was voted MVP. If you have not been to a «Fox Event», come if you can. They are an experience not to be missed. There are lots more coming up in the next few weeks. 50

Nothing better than being able to come and enjoy an event. Fox did a fantastic job in getting a large number of people to come out to the Broadway Market for the first time and was impeccable in every element of organization for the event: from getting the people to come to having some games prepared for us to play — I had a great time! The scavenger hunt was ingenious and had us split up into teams of two really searching under every nook and cranny of the Broadway Market. We may have looked a little weird, but it was fun… even though our team lost(darn you Ruth & team!). Can’t wait for the next UYE — thanks again Fox!
