My new apartment was not ready(even though I had a signed lease) so my terrific property manager put me up at the Hyatt for a few days. Room… valet parking… and breakfast. Sweet! The first day I had the buffet, the second I ordered off the menu, and on days three and four it was back to the buffet. On my «menu day» I chose a bagel(lightly toasted) with smoked salmon, cream cheese, tomatoes, onion, and capers. The bagel wasn’t toasted at all and the capers came out when I was practically finished because«the cook couldn’t find them». The generous portion of salmon was tasty, but the tomatoes anemic and the onions dried out. The buffet was better(and I’m not usually a buffet person). Beverages(coffee, tea, juice) were included. And, omelets and pancakes could be ordered from the waitress… not that they were needed. Over the three days I ate from the buffet I sampled just about everything. Bacon(nitrite free, cooked to the perfect crispness, and super delicious), breakfast potatoes(tasty with onions and bell peppers), frittata(bland), apple pancakes(yummy, but I would have preferred real syrup), fruit and yogurt and cheese and scones and croissants and muffins. It’s a good thing I was only there four days or else I would have never fit out the door! The service was very friendly and efficient. By day two the waitresses knew me and brought coffee and water right over. It was a great start to my few days of «hotel living».

Service is slow! Don’t stop if you only have an hour for lunch! Would not return. Place was half empty and it took 40 mins to see my food.

Had a nice snack before heading to a wedding reception Saturday. Beers, with beef on weck and hot pastrami sandwich. All solid grub. Staff on hand was fun and engaging.

So I have had a meal(dinners mostly) here probably twice a week for six months(30 – 40 times). I kept coming back because of the convenience. The menu has some great variety and options but the food never really tastes great. I think the happy hour special and menu is fantastic and loved it but couldn’t take advantage of it since it ended at 6 or 7pm. The service is attentive and the beer selection is great too. They do good calamari fries, salads, sandwiches, and ravioli.

I just had an iced tea and the Caesar salad, but it was good, and the service was excellent.

Slow service. This is during a premier event. USBC Jr Gold event. I’m not impressed with the level of service.

While it make take a while for the food to come to the table, the meals are worth the wait! Each of the dishes are prepared fresh and the price points are great! The bistro steak runs around $ 15 and is an excellent value. The atrium can be cold during the winter time, so we make sure to sit towards the middle of the floor where it is warmer. The staff are very attentive and this has truly become one of our regular places to go eat because of the quality, price and excellent service.

Though the Gingerbread house wasn’t complete when we were there — the aroma sure was! Every once in awhile as we sit talking to the Canadians a whiff of fresh gingerbread would be inhaled — nice! The folks tending the bar were great! I cannot remember her name, but she was a good singer and dancer for sure and never missed a beat — keeping our drinks full. They could put out some nuts or pretzels at the bar though — especially if they are going to make you hungry while you drink!

I hate when I write a decent review and then have to change it. Like I said, I come here at least once a week with my coworkers. It seems like lately the service is getting worse and worse. Today, we went for lunch. It wasn’t very busy but all of the waiters and waitresses didn’t even seem to care about any of the guests. We had to flag our waiter down twice to get a side of ketchup for the french fries, and to get refills on the water. There wasn’t an apology either time. Once he dropped off the check, it was another 10 min of waiting for him to pick it up. When he finally did, he didn’t say a word when we told him«thank you» I noticed it wasn’t just our waiter who was mentally somewhere else. A father and his young daughter had to flag down(what I assumed was) the manager and say«can we get someone to take our order?» I would have been mortified if I was the manager. The Atrium seems to have a great atmosphere, excellent lunch food, but poor and slow service.

I used to eat here all the time when I worked downtown. The only issue I ever had was that the service could be slow — but I know they had just hired a new manager when I was switching jobs, so for all I know it’s not really a problem anymore. Typically, restaurants in hotels are not that great, but that is NOT the case with the Atrium. The food is always so fresh and oftentimes locally sourced(yeah!). Most recently, I was in for breakfast after a wedding and ordered the egg white omelette. Not only was I so trilled that they had such a delicious, healthy option — but the other diners with me were all super happy with their meals.(They have several«buffalo style» breakfast entrees which looked fab). They’re also more than happy to accommodate special requests or changes to menu items… yay. I LOVE the location… besides being a little awkward to get to if you’re driving, it’s the best place to go in the dead of January when you just want to feel some sunshine on your face without it freezing off. And the same thing in August — enjoy the sun without the heat. If you don’t want to sit in the sun, they have giant umbrellas to shield you from those harmful UV rays. I’ve never been for dinner but have never had a bad plate of food here, either — so order with abandon and I’m sure you’ll be pleased!

A solid breakfast option for visitors. I may live in Buffalo, but I keep finding reasons to have a sneaky staycation at the Hyatt Regency. Every time I do, I find myself wandering down to the Atrium for breakfast. Let’s get the rough part out of the way — the prices are not so hot. The buffet seems like the best option but it will set you back. I think the price range is expected for a hotel restaurant, but let’s face it, we are still in Buffalo, NY where a solid meal is less than $ 10 and 10 minutes away at all times. With that being said… There are several great menu options for breakfast here. Last time I was around these parts, I opted for the Eggs Benedict — Buffalo Style. The plate came out dressed up real pretty with mounds of bleu cheese and speckled with hot sauce. I give this option an A+ for taste, but admittedly, it gave me a belly ache. The best choice for me is always the buffet. If you have a regular Buffalo-night-out hangover, you’ll need this option for sure. There are a range of cereals, oatmeal, a couple of juice choices. The scrambled eggs are moist and tasty, the potatoes are crisp, and the sausage is a winner for sure. What’s more is they will make a few alternatives if you aren’t liking what you see. They don’t exactly advertise it, but they will fry you an egg or two any way you like it and you can replace the DIY waffle with a pancake. I wouldn’t miss the waffle — they have fresh berry toppings and cream, syrup and butter ready to go. They usually have an array of fresh breads for toasting and sometimes a couple of pastries. It is really a win-win situation despite the price. They tell me the coffee they serve is Starbucks(they run a mini version of the café through the bar) but I am skeptical. It is tasty, but not quite the Starbucks I remember. The wait staff is courteous and friendly, always keeping your table clean after multiple buffet trips(haha). What really tops it off is the several times I have been offered a to-go cup for my coffee refill — a polite way to say, «Hey, we like you but we really want to clear the way for the next guy.» I don’t mind if I do. I like my coffee better with TV and a big bed anyways.

This is the restaurant and bar in the Hyatt Regency in downtown Buffalo. It’s SO good! I have to admit, I’m a little shocked. I’m not used to the hotel restaurant being a good option. The atmosphere is really cool, it’s under a huge … skylight, for lack of a better word and there’s lots of trees and plants around, almost makes you feel like you’re in a garden, but without the cold! Was here in late March for a conference, and we didn’t feel like wandering around outside in the cold, so we decided to try the restaurant right where we were staying in the Hyatt. I expected it to be the usual hotel fare, but it was better than that! The menu was much more adventurous. Thought it would be really expensive, but it wasn’t. I think I got a tuna melt, came with sweet potato fries, and it came to under $ 10! My friend got a burger and the fries and was delighted as well! The waitress was fantastic too! We ate here for breakfast another day,(got a 3 egg omelette) and it was delicious as well. I think it came with toast. Our service was a little rough though, but it was busy. Breakfast was also more expensive(around $ 15). Tip: In the mornings, if you don’t want to trek to Delaware Avenue, they do Starbucks Coffee from the bar. They obviously basically only offer one or two types of the hot coffee, but it’s a good option, especially if it’s winter and you don’t want to go outside at all.
